The ceiling lights were floating over the heads of each member from different groups, who are currently congregated in a big circle. The room was slightly darker as it was kept to be secluded.
“Just seeing all of your faces makes me want to notch them,” Suho snickered.
“Are you dumb? You’ve been doing that for the past year to the prisoners. Do you desperately want your ass to be sent back to jail?” Lay raised an eyebrow, scoffing in ridicule.
“Don’t mind him. Since everyone is here, let’s get down to business and I’m not just talking about the regular ones that we usually do. I know that we’ve been thrown in the roughhouse by our companies, so I suggest that we should make our first move. Particularly, Mr. Bang Si-hyuk,” Jackson said calmly.
“Ah… What about him?” Xiumin asked blankly.
“Yeah, he’s been focused on producing music lately for the new debuted groups,” Yugyeom said.
“That’s what I’ve seen and heard from him, but I’m not convinced,” Jackson noted.
“I agree. It’s the same statement as what the other CEOs would say,” Baekhyun pointed out.
“I’ve seen him once carrying a pen in his breast pocket and it looks to me as if it’s more than just an ordinary one,” Vernon said in thought.
“There could be something to it like lasers, digital touchscreen of some sort,” Joshua guessed.
“They’d be tucking away the imperative information that would’ve made the fans less worried about us,” Bambam said.
“We weren’t able to drop any hints or give them a little spoilers, aside from our comebacks and it's because of some members' recent scandals,” Chanyeol murmured quietly, not wanting to mention his name.
“That was his own choice. Let alone the feeble man to take heed of his actions. I’m glad we didn’t end up like him,” Sehun stated.
“The hiatus has been going on for a while,” Jin-young sighed.
“What do you expect? Blame our staff for leading our groups to target local markets instead of the entire planet,” Baekhyun shrugged.
“I understand that, but that’s not the only issue we have. This is why I called you all here to listen to what I’m about to tell you,” Jackson noted, pausing to observe his acquaintances. “If you must know about Bryan’s friend, you would know there is more to it than what we see on the news. Our first step is to find out BigHit, or should I say, Hybe’s plans are, including our agencies. We all hold personal grudges towards them because they did us dirty…”
“Who wouldn’t? Even if they continue, nothing will change,” D.O mumbled rhetorically.
"I'm sure it will, right Mr. Kim?" Jackson smirked halfway as he glanced at their leader, who was sitting in the dark with a scoff and chuckle.
"Gentlemen, I guarantee that our plan will overthrow them if you just learn how to trust the process. I truly admire your eagerness and passion to fight what is ours…"
He uncrossed his legs and stood up from his chair before he stepped into the light. "Each of you will be going through the tests, and those who excel and pass will be selected to be part of the new squad. You don't get to decide which weapon you choose, the weapon chooses you. Simple rules for the levels that you are about to take. If you want to retreat, let us know immediately. Jackson will be leading you through the courses and as for me, I have to go on a private chat with a friend at this moment if you'll excuse me…"
He turned around and strutted away from the guys, who began to shuffle amongst themselves. He headed towards the elevator and pressed the button to close the door in front of him, then reached the top floor as soon as he walked out.
The balcony was polished where he saw a tall figure staring at the view of the sun setting.
“I find this absolutely terrifying to see that you are dismissed from prison. I’m also not astonished that you’ve paid them money,” he responded nonchalantly.
He asked him mischievously. “What brings the handsome face of Korea to my domain on this finest evening?”
“I have a deal to propose and you have to promise me something,” Eunwoo said.
“Ah. No problem, but remember, we both had an agreement,” the boss uttered.
“I always keep it in mind, so what is your exchange?”
“I want to meet your girlfriend.”
Eunwoo opened his eyes in chivalry as he gazed at him, saying. “You know, you’re too absorbed into her background more than what she looks like.”
“Oh, you have no idea…” The boss smirked in a smug that irritated his friend as he pleased.
Within two weeks after the awards shows, BTS went on a world tour, performing their two newest hit singles, “Butter” and “Permission To Dance,” across East Asian countries, such as China, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, and Mongolia.
Three members appeared on stage where the LED screen was showing the pictures of the places that the Army traveled to and the fun events they had. It was drawn out for them singing it live in front of the audience, who remained silent without screaming or calling out their names.
Yoongi was in the center to start his first verse, whereas Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook were standing a few meters apart beside him. Contrarily, Namjoon and Hoseok were watching their performance in awe inside the dressing room as they were changing their attires. They were always galvanized by the lyrics, regardless of the swear words that Yoongi originally wrote in his mixtape, which surprised some people.
They indeed had jet lag and felt emotionally drained during their rehearsals, but they took a couple of breaks and days off.
Seoul has always been persistent and the only difference was the expansion of the attractions. Bryan still works at the Maple Tree House as a waiter, though he enjoys being part of the team, seeing that he was treated more than an employee.
He then met up with his friends, whom they both stayed at his apartment to work on the cases, yet it was undetermined.
“Ugh, crap… I don’t understand how EXO and GOT7 members would have the guts to recruit a lot of men to do their biddings. One year is not enough for them to suffer in jail. They deserve more than penalties,” Ava glowered in disgust at the documents on her hands.
“And they’ve been released by their lawyers, but they haven’t gone out in the public eye,” he added dully.
“It just makes no sense,” Sally groaned in frustration as she was scrolling hastily on her phone.
“What’s not?” Bryan asked in a peculiar way.
“You see, I used to talk to my other friend and I’m unable to send her messages.”
“She probably blocked you,” Ava assumed with a shrug.
“Maybe she changed her number,” Bryan thought and queried. “When was the last time you spoke to her?”
“Three years ago before she attended the New Year’s Eve party,” Sally answered simply.
Bryan remained still, wrinkling his eyebrows in an inquisitive and puzzling look. He pondered, asking. “May I know who your ‘other friend’ is?”
Sally bit her lip thoroughly in her sobered mind. She breathed in and uttered in a describing manner.
