I had made so many conversations in my mind which I planned to use if I was asked to change my dress but damn my brothers. I felt so scared that I could not think of what to say.
"John, what's wrong with what I am wearing? It's fine. Let it go." I tried to convince him but all I got was John's head moving from side to side in a disagreement.
"Ria, go change. Put on a jacket and no skirts. Only jeans" John was not even listening to me while Alex and Andy were busy having their breakfast while watching TV.
"John, please. I haven't even unpacked my bags. Let me wear this today. I promise to unpack my luggage after school."
"Ria, Go now, enough with your excuses."
"No, I won't!!"
"Ria, how dare you talk to John like that?" And there comes Andy. Why can't my brothers speak for me instead, once in a while for a change?
"And why the hell this dress is in your wardrobe in the first place? Now go change or shall I call Jack back home?"
It's like a lose-lose situation for me, every time. I walked on the stairs in defeat.
"And remove your make up too, you are not going to a party."
"Ria's going to a party?"
"When?
"No, she is not, I won't allow her even, without anyone of us going with her."
I didn't even bother to look back at who said what. I went back to my room, changed into my pants, and put on a white jacket. I wanted to shout when I was removing my makeup but it's of no use. Till I have my brothers around me.
When Logan completed school I was sad that he might leave the town for college outside. But I was relieved too. I hoped for a little more freedom.
But the opposite happened. Logan stayed back and my other brothers became more strict and protective of me.
John used to save me earlier from the scoldings of Logan and Jack and the torments of Alex and Andy, but now he is joining the Logan-and-Jack group.
I came back downstairs with an angry face but my brothers had no effect at all.
Andy pulled me outside to the car and dumped me into the back seat.
"I wanna sit in the front," I mumbled to myself, knowing they won't let me.
"What are you murmuring," Alex asked.
"I said I want to punch you all." I burst.
All four of my brothers looked at me and then at each and then burst into uncontrollable laughter.
What a family I have. I thought and put on my headphone to listen to songs in a sigh.
