After school, she had some appointments. She visited a student who is often absent from her class. The situation was common for her. She believed it was part of her duty.
She took the train to the Metro. The train was almost empty. She sat down right next to an old man who was wearing an old brown coat. It was a very tiring day for Eloise. She put on her headphones and took a nap.
She woke up and noticed that there were no more passengers besides herself and the old man. She looked at her watch and checked the train schedule. She still got 20 minutes before she gets to her destination.
Her stomach was growling. She didn't have lunch. The man noticed it. He looked at her mysteriously.
Suddenly he took something out of his pocket.
An APPLE. A red apple.
He told her, Eat this. It will make your tummy and your heart happy.
Eloise laughed so hard and told the man he was very humorous. Also, she did not forget to thank him for the apple. They began talking and laughing as if there was no tomorrow. She apologized for judging him. She thought he was too intimidating.
The man said he got used to it when people thought he was not nice because of his looks.
He spoke, Ironically, my nickname is SMILE. I love laughing and making silly jokes. Before I get off this train, may I know your name young child?
Call me Eloise, with a big smile on her face.

Then the old man got off the train. Eloise would be at her destination in 10 minutes.
After a few minutes, she arrived at the place. She looked at the address. She saw a tiny house that completely looked like no one was taking care of it. She knocked at the old wooden door. A person opened the door. From her looks, you could see the years passed through her. The wrinkles on her eyes and her silver hair. She welcomed her with a warm greeting.
I am Eloise. Sophie's homeroom teacher. May I know what happened to her?
The woman told her, My grandchild is sick because of working from her different part-time jobs. She needs to earn money. We only have each other.

She decided to buy some food and medicines for her student from the nearest store in that place. She stayed for a while, to help Sophie's grandmother clean the entire house and talked about their daily situation.
After that, they thanked her for her kindness. She bid goodbye to her student and the grandmother. At that moment, she felt a strong sense of compassion and promised to visit often.
She got home at exactly 8 p.m. She was very tired but took a bath anyway. Before going to sleep, she wrote something in her diary.

I met a man in the metro called SMILE, he is a humorous grandpa. He gave me an apple and told me he had a secret.
"My apple is magical. The effect is eternal. If you will eat this, you will be invisible. Only people with good hearts and good intentions will see you. "
It made me smile a lot just thinking about it.
