Chapter One
Valentine's Bluff, Canada, February 14, 1980
Two decades later...
Kara Chambers, nineteen, was in the middle of the mines. She had long, blonde hair, blue eyes, and average height; she focused on the miner with the dented, silvery colored helmet; she saw his breathing apparatus in his open mouth. He breathed; he was taking it out, as if gazing at her.
'Make out with me', she said.
He grabbed the pickaxe.
And it came down onto the stones.
She was being strangled by the killer.
Then her body fell next to his grey boots.
And the sounds of the next shift for the miners came to a grinding halt. When it was over, the killer walked away, and the terror resumed.
