Chapter Six
Olsen, the Vampire Hunter, smoked a pipe. His eyes were wary of death; his face was in the heavy, black mist; his brown bag was full of medical equipment. Before the hunting season was coming, he saw the Coroner, Doctor David Ames, MD. 'The vampires are here in New York. Terrible business, you see. There are rules, and regulations, that concern the Undead', the Doctor said.
'Rules are for people who don't deal with them; rules are meant to be bent, just a little, to get results'.
'And'.
'And, New Yorkers aren't safe from the vampires. This is the 1840's. There's a war going on, and they'll all die in the bright sunlight', Olsen said.
'Soon, Sir. Soon', Doctor Ames, MD, suggested.
He didn't smile at the bad news.
