'They're watching the house'.
'Who are they? Mother and Father will tell Olsen'.
'Vampires. Oh, they're beastly'.
'Beastly'.
'You're mad, Margaret; mad'.
'I'm not mad, beastly, or insane'.
'And now you're in your nightgown in the sunlight'.
'I have had a fever'.
'A fever'.
'Oh, I saw a them in the cemetery'.
'Them. Oh, please tell me they didn't see you, dear sister'.
'They did! They did!', Maude exclaimed.347Please respect copyright.PENANAHDzrQUWeSf
'Hush now! Mother's footsteps are in the hall; Father is in his favorite study. And won't be disturbed. He gets frightfully angry if his work is...Oh, I do hear Mother...Father is speaking...'.
'Maude'.
'Yes, sister'.
'Maude, the bedroom chamber door is open'.
And the two sisters screamed in horror, as they saw their parents gazing at them. In their hands were candles.
'Come to us, children', they insisted.
They were pale as death.
Margaret and Maude fled through the ashy window, and jumped onto the soft grass. And made their escape before the vampires bit them in their necks.
