We know John Mark as the author of The Gospel of Mark. The start to his gospel probably put a target on his back with the controversial start to his gospel. In his time the majority of people were Jewish, which means they believe that the messiah is still waiting to come down and save them from their suffering.
So when John Mark started his gospel with "The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, son of God, as it is written in Isaiah the prophet."
After Jesus Christ's crucifixion and resurrection, John Mark went on to preaching what he had learned. When he finished writing the Gospel of Mark, he traveled throughout Northern Africa and Egypt telling people about a Father with great love. Finally he settled in Alexandria and established a church. The bible tells us that one day when he was preached a sermon about the suffering and death of Christ as part of Passover (What we consider Easter Sunday). 325Please respect copyright.PENANAEYZVyoUXQ9
The local priests didn't like what John Mark preached so they convinced most of the population to go up against him. They took him from his church and dragged him out thought the church and out to the streets and continued out of the city. He left a trail of blood and flesh which stained the rocks over which they dragged him.
He was bleeding severely as they jeered and mocked him. With his last words he gave his spirit to the hands of his Savior and died.
When you read this story remember that he isn't suffering anymore. When he closed he eyes he opened them in Heaven. He is with Jesus and God, Jesus welcomed him with open arms, just as he wants to welcome us.
We get so caught up in our fears of dying that we forget that we have eternal lives with Jesus. All we have to do is ask, John Mark gave his life for Jesus and God and he is with them now.
That was John Mark's Story, what's your story. 325Please respect copyright.PENANAMNNlffUBW1
