Many associate St. Nicholas as Santa Claus, and we all know who Santa Claus is. But we haven't took the time to find out how he came to be the jolly man who delivers presents to kids all in one night all around the world. Santa Claus comes from a man name Nicholas who was a christian prisoner in Rome.
He was in prison during the rule of Emperor Diocletian, during the year 303 he made a call to began one of the most brutal persecutions of christians. So many people were killed that the executioners were exhausted. By saving that man, he would continue to spread the good news of Christ in Rome. After Nicholas endured terrible torture for not denying Christ he was released. He spent the rest of his life establishing orphanages and protecting poor children. He was loyal to advancing the gospel of Christ in unique ways.
