Work was stressful. I had a lot of people yelling at me to hurry up. it was all to tiering. I just wanted to go home and sleep. On my break, I looked at my phone to see multiple missed calls from the sheriff's department. I quickly called back and fought back tears as I heard what happened. My mind went blank and I started to run home. It was blocked off with caution tape and lots of police officers. I rushed to one of them, and they looked down at me with a raised eyebrow. I swallowed back some more tears as I stuttered out.
"w-what happened? where is James? is he okay?"
They shook their head, I then looked to see a Stretcher pulling out a corpse. My heart stopped and I collapsed. I started to cry. Why? why must they take him?
After a while, they took me in to question me. Asking me if I had anything to do with it if I knew anyone who had a bone to pick with him. I answered no to those questions. after that they released me. I wasn't sure where I was supposed to go. I had nowhere else. I started walking home. and my luck, it started to rain. I hugged my jacket closer to me. As I neared a corner I heard footsteps coming from behind me, I quickly looked back only to see nothing. But as I kept walking the footsteps never ceased, Soon they sounded like they were right beside me, I panicked and picked up my pace. The footsteps picked up the same pace as mine. I wondered to myself if I was losing my sanity.
I started running away from the footsteps. suddenly I was pushed down, I held my arms out to ketch my fall. I looked behind me to see a tall figure standing over me. I tried to back away from him, only to have him follow me. his laugh rang out louder than the rain. he bent over and picked up a string of my hair, he twirled it between his fingers. His touch was surprisingly gentle.
"Hello, princess~," he said, his voice deep.
I tried to back away from him, only to have him pick me up and throw me over his shoulder. I tried to fight him off, only to be hit upside the head. And everything went black.
