This happened about ten years ago. I used to light firecrackers on Christmas eve. We had these small crackers called 'bijili', about 2 inches long and half a centimetre wide.
So on that day, it was pretty rainy so the crackers got wet and didn't fire properly but my nine year old self didn't realise that. I lit one of them and went away to a safe place. Nothing happened. I went near it, lit it again and ran away. Again, nothing happened. So I went near and checked it. It looked somewhat like this

Suddenly it started burning!
In a state of panic, being the idiot I am, I put my hand on top of the firecracker, covering it to protect myself!!!
Luckily the cracker did not fire properly and I escaped with a mild burn...
This was my expression after that (though my face wasn't hurt)
Till this day, I think about it and laugh at myself.
