It was Christmas Eve. The 4-year-old girl with black hair sat in the chair, laughing with her family.
She was wearing some sort of dress and was sat at the table. The only things on the table were: a table cloth a couple of popped crackers, some leftover cutlery and a couple of white wax candles...
For a moment let's disregard the table cloth and the crackers; so what do we have left?
The candles, the napkins and a 4-year-old pyromaniac.
I guess I didn't know at the time, and I don't now set everything on fire... (I swear!!!) but I do like it.
The crackling, the smell, the flames... I love it.
So, anyway.
The parents left (and at that time my brother didn't even exist yet) and the girl was left alone.
She put her arms on the table and stared at the naked flame of the closest candle.
Soon she got bored and started to play origami with the closest napkin...
Playing a little bit too close to the candle.
The orange started to lick the napkin and suddenly, the item in her hands was on fire.
The heat didn't hurt, and the girl wasn't scared of the fire; she was scared of the trouble she would get in if it spreaded.
As she stood there, the flames began to spread - and the girl felt a burning sensation in her hands. Shocked, she droped the burning napkin onto the table cloth... where the fire burned through the cotton.
And to this day that burn mark remains.
So, yeah, probably not the best idea to drop a burning napkin onto a rather expensive tablecloth... and no, I didn't get into too much trouble, but still, it's a pretty large burn mark! :-D
