Dracula's Point of View
I stop at the stoplight and watch the sky as dark clouds cover the moon. Suddenly, a part of my brain seems to go dead and it feels like someone just shot a million arrows in my heart. Then, I realize. I gasp.
"Nikki," I whisper.
I glance at the stoplight. Still red. Oh, who cares? Not caring about the fact that there's a car coming, I press my foot on the gas petal. I speed up as I pass various cars. I glance at the speedometer. I'm going 128 kilometers per hour, which is about 80 miles an hour. I don't care. Nikki needs me.
"Come on," I say softly as I screech to a stop behind a long line of cars. I growl and move onto the left side of the road. Even though it's the wrong side of the road, I speed up and zoom passed all of the cars. I pass by a police car and it pulls out and comes after, sirens blaring. Which just makes me even more upset. I speed up to 180 kilometers per hour and keep going.
"I don't have time for this!"
I take a sharp right and get back on the right side of the road, swerving around slower cars. And, there, Nikki's house. I speed up.
"Come on," I mutter. "It's only four meters away."
I glance at my side mirror. The police is still behind me. I reach the driveway of Nikki's house and screech to a halt. I turn off the engine and get out. I slam the car door shut and go up to the front door. I push it open and as soon as I walk in, I hear a sound I will never forget: the crying of two babies.
