Dante and Mars quickly became infatuated with one another and within a week, plans for a wedding were underway. Frida and Duval did most of the planning, organizing, and sending invitations. After the assassinations of both past King and Queen, invitations were few and security was plenty. On the top of the list was Hades and his family. As chief of the Midaran police force, he had to be in attendance. The wedding would also be the first time Dante and Cassius met since Midway, their elementary school. Some guests were some of King Silas and Queen Crimson’s friends whom Dante was not too familiar with, but he knew his parents would have wanted them there. Lastly, Mars’ parents would be invited as well. The King’s Guard had to present the proposed invitations to Dante before officially sending them out. Frida and Duval entered Dante’s room.
“Is there anyone we are missing, your royalty?” Duval questioned Mars and Dante.
“No, I think that’s everyone,” Mars answered.
“King Dante, is something wrong?” Frida asked because Dante stared intently at the ground.
He wanted to invite Enzo, but he knew the situation between Midarans and Humans was uneasy which meant Frida and Duval would reject his idea. He realized that since he was King now, maybe he could convince them.
“Is it possible to invite Enzo?” Dante finally requested.
Mars sighed as if she knew that he was going to say that.
“You mean the human boy with Midaran capabilities?” Frida interrogated Dante. “Wasn’t he the one that got us into this mess? Our spy unit claims that not even the humans enjoy his company. Why do you want him at the wedding?”
“We are not much different than them,” Dante argued. “I mean look at me now, I can speak their language with ease just how Enzo can use our powers. Plus, this could be our opportunity to form a treaty and create a safe society.”
“Your highness, if I may,” Duval said. “There are many Midarans that are anxious and scared of humans even prior to the deaths of our previous King and Queen. Inviting a human to the wedding would spark outrage; the people would think less of you and your rule would be undermined.”
“They would call you weak,” Frida interjected. “After that, they would want you removed from the tower and have someone else take your place.”
“Who?” Dante asked.
“Hades,” Frida responded, “If not him, then his son. Both of them have been itching for a fight against the humans and your passiveness is looked down upon.”
“Enzo has not shown any hostility towards Midarans,” Mars said. “If I remember correctly, he was the one that built the fire wall when we attacked years ago. With that kind of power, he could have wiped out the whole battalion and then some.”
“He was a naïve little boy,” Frida refuted. “How are we supposed to know if he still feels the same or if he wants to kill us. Why are you so attached to him anyway, King? Weren’t you in his class for only one day?”
“Something inside called me toward him,” Dante answered. “I can tell that he does not want violence.”
“Even if you’re right,” Frida said, “that doesn’t mean the rest of the humans or Midarans would agree with this decision. If he were at the wedding, Hades and Cassius would eat that boy alive.”
“Have them be security instead of guests then,” Dante said. “I can deal with innocent Midarans being upset with me, but you’re right, those two would cause trouble if Enzo attended.”
“Dante and I are strong,” Mars said. “If somehow, Enzo plans to attack us, we could easily immobilize him and besides there will be plenty of security before he reaches us.”
Frida and Duval looked at each other and then back at Dante.
“How are we supposed to invite him?” Frida asked.
“I’ll do it,” Dante responded.
Frida sighed. “Fine, you do it then. Just to let you know, I am strongly against this but at the end of the day, royalty reigns supreme.” She bowed and promptly left the room.
“If you will excuse me,” Duval bowed and followed Frida.
“I hope you’re right about Enzo,” Mars said and kissed Dante’s cheek.
“It’ll be alright,” Dante said while rubbing Mars’ stomach.
Mars put her hand over his and said, “Have you thought of a name?”

While Dante was dreaming, he saw the shadow being again.
“It’s time for another trial, don’t you think?” The mysterious body asked.
Dante stared at the shadowy figure that had appeared before him. He was less afraid now but remembered that this being's trials typically ended in death.
“As if I had a choice,” Dante responded.
“Oh,” the figure said. “Are you already used to this? Have you remembered me yet?”
“Yes, I saw you before my parents died and when Enzo made the fire wall.”
The being laughed hysterically for an uncomfortable amount of time. “You have no idea who you really are,” it said. The figure then transformed into a massive demonic body and swallowed Dante whole.
He awoke beside Mars in their bed. He sat up on the edge of the bed, sweating. The moon entered the room from the balcony on the far side of the room, its ethereal glow beckoned him. He walked to the light.
“What’s wrong, Dante?” Mars asked.
Dante didn’t stop moving until he reached the balcony.
Mars sat up, “Come back to bed.”
Dante looked back into his loving wife’s eyes and remembered the trial that the shadow person spoke about. “I’m going to invite Enzo to our wedding. I want you to know that no matter what happens now or at the wedding…I love you.”
Dante didn’t let Mars respond before shapeshifting into a middle-aged man with a military gear on and jumping off the balcony. He used his wind to fly and land close to the firewall. Upon reaching the wall, he used his presence to see if he could sense anyone keeping guard. There weren’t any guards for about a mile, but it seemed like a patrol was coming so he had to be quick. His control of nature allowed him to go through the ground and into human territory without digging a tunnel. He walked toward the human buildings to see if he could find Enzo on his own. If he couldn’t, his last resort was to talk to the humans in an attempt to gain information.
Dante snuck into the military camp just as he did so many years ago as a kid. He acted calmly as he walked around the premises. Soon he realized that acting nonchalant made him stand out more because everyone around him seemed to be frantic. Dante caught pieces of information from the people’s conversations.
“Did you hear about Sahel?”
“Is he going to be okay?”
“He’s dead for sure!”
There was a huge group of people at the door of the hospital.
“Stand back!” The security yelled at the horde of humans.
Then a man who was the boss by how refined his outfit was compared to the others. He was taller than Dante at about 6 feet and 5 inches. He spoke in a charming voice through a microphone.
“Good evening, everyone! I am sure that all of you are worried about our leader, Sahel. He has chosen to undergo a sort of blood transfusion surgery which will grant him Midaran powers.”
Outcries came from the crowd. Dante came closer to listen.
“Our leader, an Elemental?!”
“It’s the only to fight back!”
“He betrays the human race!”
A sharp ringing came from the speakers and the crowd became silent in response. The tall man continued to talk.
“I understand your confusion, however, I beseech you all to understand that our relationship with Midara is very fragile. Anything even slightly aggressive could mean war. Sahel simply wants to prepare himself for the worst possible outcome. By the by, all this screaming and shouting could alert the Midarans that we are planning something. So go on, return to your homes and pray for our success.”
Everyone looked as if they had more to say but they knew that the terror of war loomed over them and if it took risky surgeries to attempt to balance the scales, then it must be done. The crowd broke up and the tall man spoke to his associates. Dante stayed close.
“Good job, Ren,” one of the smaller security guards said.
“Just doing my part for humanity,” Ren said, smiling.
Dante got a better look at him now and saw that his eyes were thinner than any human he had seen before. His height also made him seem like a worthy adversary. He wasn’t all that buff but, being the lead of a security team made him no pushover. Ren turned to see if everyone had left already. He made eye contact with Dante. Dante tried to leave immediately but it was too late.
“Hey buddy,” Ren called out to him.
Dante turned back and Ren was already approaching him.
“I don’t think I’ve seen you before.” Ren introduced himself and put his hand out, “I’m Ren, the head of security, well for the hospital anyway.”
Dante shook his hand and said: “Nice to meet you, I’m Dan-”
He stopped himself before saying his real name. Ren noticed.
“Dan?” Ren asked for clarification.
“Daniel!” Dante responded. “My name is Daniel”
Dante saw a scared look on Ren’s face, and it felt like a knife was cutting Dante’s head open. Dante tried acting natural, but he collapsed from the pain and closed his eyes. When he opened them again, he discovered that it was all an illusion and Ren was there smiling.
“Nice to meet you too, Daniel,” Ren said. “Walk home safely.”
Dante walked back from where he came to catch his breath. What was that, Dante thought. His migraine had gone away instantly, and he swore that he had fallen to the ground while Ren looked terrified. Dante pushed it to the back of his mind for now; He had to find Enzo to invite him to his wedding. He noticed that the buildings were built from Midaran material which meant that he could walk through the walls easily. His royal blood meant that he could control nature at his whim, which rendered the walls useless. He used his presence to see if Enzo was close by at all. There was a fiery aura from inside the hospital, so he entered through the wall once the area was clear.

Enzo was asleep in his hospital bed when he was abruptly woken up by Ms. Bravo and a woman.
“Hello, Enzo!” Ms. Bravo said in a happy tone. “Sorry to bother you, I would like to introduce you to your new nurse.”
“Hey, my name is Clair,” the nurse said.
She wore the mandated scrubs that all nurses wore but hers was tighter, and she wore nothing underneath; her nipples poked through the fabric. Her cleavage showed easily because of the size of her chest. Her hips gave her body the hour-glass shape that other women would kill for. Clair had plump thighs that Enzo had to resist staring at. He looked happy to meet his new nurse but hoped that his sexual ideas were hidden from her and Ms. Bravo.
“Well, I’ll be leaving now.” Ms. Bravo said to Clair, “I trust that you will get the job done?”
Clair nodded and began to check on Enzo’s condition. She acted as a regular nurse but that didn’t stop Enzo from stealing glances at all her curves. Clair noticed and smiled back. Enzo turned red from embarrassment and looked away. She was standing on Enzo’s left side and to check his IV she reached across his body and was on top of him. Enzo felt her breasts press on his stomach and saw her back bend to accentuate the size of her butt. It became hard to focus and soon Enzo’s excitement was visible when he got an erection.
Clair got off of him and walked to the door. Relief flooded Enzo’s face because she was leaving, and he was nervous that she had felt his penis. She reached the door and instead of opening it she made sure it was locked and turned back to Enzo. He was speechless as Clair got on the end of the bed by his feet and began crawling towards his face. She leaned closer to him and whispered directly into his ear.
“I needed to make sure that no one disturbs your physical checkup. I’m very thorough.”
Enzo felt her warm breath on his ear and got goosebumps. His face was red, his heart was thumping, and his breath was slow and heavy.
“You look like you have a fever,” Clair whispered. “Let me take these clothes off you.”
Enzo could only nod as he watched Clair remove his shirt and use her hand to stroke his chest all the way down to his pants. She moved back so that her face was by Enzo’s crotch. As she pulled down his pants, she kept her nose pressed to Enzo’s penis and breathed in the sweet, yet pungent smell of Enzo’s body. Clair threw his pants on the floor and took off his underwear while gently kissing his thigh and just above the waistband. Enzo’s penis hit Clair when his underwear finally came off. Clair continued to kiss his body, this time moving up towards the chest, while using one hand to hold Enzo closer and the other to tease his nipple. He moaned lightly which caught Clair’s attention. She moved her face right in front of Enzo.
“Did you want to take off my clothes?” she asked with a seductive grin.
She was still fully dressed but with how close she was, Enzo could practically see her breasts through the collar line. He began to imagine what she would look like nude and how soft her skin must feel. Before, Enzo could answer, Clair’s lips were on his penis. Her tongue wrapped around the head as she continued to rub his abdomen with her hands. Enzo came fast and Clair sucked harder. She swallowed and revealed her empty mouth to Enzo.
“I hope you're not satisfied yet,” she giggled.
They were about to continue when someone knocking on the door made them both panic and clean up quickly. Clair put Enzo’s clothes on the bed and covered him with a blanket before opening the door.
“Hello, are you visiting?” She asked the man at the door.
“Yes, if you could give us some alone time...” the man said.
“What is your relationship to the patient?” Clair shot back.
“Old friends,” the man answered.
“Enzo, do you know this person?” Clair asked. She moved enough out of the way to see the visitor.
Enzo had never seen this person before, but he used his presence to see deeper and recognize Dante.
“Yes!” Enzo responded, “Let him in.”
“If you’ll excuse me,” Clair said as she left the room.
Dante walked in, still in disguise, and sat down in a chair next to Enzo’s bed. He finally revealed himself and said: “Long time no see.”
“Good to see you again,” Enzo said.
“Judging by the odd smell,” Dante sniffed, “I'll keep it quick so that woman can come back.”
Enzo looked away, embarrassed.
Dante continued to talk, “I want to invite you to my wedding.”
Enzo snapped back to look at Dante, “You’re getting married?!”
“Not so loud man,” Dante lowered his voice, “I am supposed to be a King and have my heirs.”
“I’m sure the Queen is a lovely lady,” Enzo said.
“She is,” Dante said. “I want you to meet her.”
“Dante,” Enzo began. “We both know that is not a good idea. I mean, we are on the verge of war, and you want me, a super soldier, to be at the wedding of the new King and Queen after the old royalty was assassinated.”
“This our chance to show that we can have peace,” Dante argued. “Your appearance will show the rest of Midara that we can coexist.”
Enzo was slow to respond. “I already know that it won’t go the way that you think. I don’t think I ever told you about my lineage. I’m a Lucifero; My family tree destroyed a lot of what is left on our home planet, Earth. The only reason they kept me alive was Sahel—our leader—he decided that killing me would make them just like the rest of my family. Most people didn’t agree but how could you argue with him when looking at his accolades. If I go, the rest of the humans would think me a traitor instead of a peaceful ambassador.”
Dante didn’t hear most of what Enzo said, the name Lucifero echoed in his head. He had seen it before, in one of his books of Human history.
“Then come in secret,” Dante suggested. “My wedding is in a week. I want you to come but if you don’t, I’ll understand.”
Dante left without another word.
Enzo pondered all the possibilities and outcomes if he attended the wedding. Maybe he would be killed instantly when spotted, perhaps it was a trap set by his good friend Dante. Still, there was a chance, a small opportunity to form a truce. Enzo planned on attending and started to form a plan on how he was going to sneak in without anyone noticing.
Until then, he wanted to enjoy himself. He used a remote given to him by the hospital to call a nurse to his room. Clair reentered the room and took her clothes off herself.
