Jozyne
"Strynex! What are you doing here?" Jozyne said excitedly. "Shhhh! Nobody must know I'm here!" He said getting off of the pink bed he had been lounging on. "I brought you something from the library... ta da!!" He said holding out a rather heavy looking book on water magic. Jozyne was confused...how did he know? He seemed to notice the confused look on her face. "Now, now, don't ask how knew about your magic delima, but since you can't read well yet, I will read it to you." He said smiling, which caused his spider fangs to the farther sides of his face. "Now, take a seat, I know some water magic of my own, I will teach you." Jozyne looked at the spider-boy curiously, why was he helping her? But it didn't matter to little Jozyne, she sat down and listened to him read the rest of the day through. She had made a friend.
And so it passed, little Jozyne grew up with her best friend being unknown to everyone else. She excelled in her class, and learned to read twice as fast. (Strynex for some strange reason favored the child and taught her everything he knew.) But such peace would not last, as she soon was reaching her 8th birthday, and Strynex had just told her the Dark Carnival was in town.
"I want to go!" She said impatiently. "Oh, no its not a place for little tykes like yourself." Her best friend replied grinning when he saw that made her pout. "Oh, alright fine, but I'm warning you, don't buy, or touch anything without my permission, got it?" Jozyne nodded vigorously. Ever since they had established their friendship he had told her great tales of grandeur and horror about the Dark Carnival. This intrigued her and made her want in. Now it was in town and she had never felt more excited.
Strynex
So he had lied, the Dark Carnival was always in town. You just had to open a portal and go. That simple. But he had kept that fact away from her until she had learned precisely enough magic to be able to defend herself in case something went wrong. He had to make sure of that. He cared for her and didn't want her to get hurt. He was his only friend, his other friends had left him since the transformation...he looked at her and grinned, opening a portal, telling her to close her eyes and take one of his hands.
Night Guard
It had been his dream since he was kid to be guard. Now he was a guard at one of the biggest schools he knew. Sure it was mundane, and nothing really ever happened. But it was his shift to be here and he was not about to abandon his post. So he stood there, peering out into the darkness, slowly nodding off. "So this is where she is eh?" The voice startled him and a masked figure came out of the darkness, he seemed armed. "Wh-what is your business here sir?" He asked grabbing for his gun, too late, the hand that had been grabbing for it had been shot. "The usual." He responded, menacingly grinning before attacking.
Strynex
"You can open your eyes now..." Strynex said as he watched an expression of amazement form of Jozyne's face. He watched as she stared at all of the dazzling colors of the tents and lights that hung grimly among the area. He watched as she looked at all of the bizarre people, this was the only place he could actually show himself. There were others just like him here, half-human half-other creature. This was more of a place for freaks like him to live, but it was still called a carnival for specific reasons. People sold their goods here, there were sword swallowers, flamer jugglers and an actual tent for the performance. Sure it was all a rather grim display, he planned not to take her into the main tent where dragons performed that were nothing but skeletons, and other frightening displays. Instead he lead her to one of the smaller acts, making certain to hold her hand so she would not get lost.
Infiltrator
Where was she?!? He wiped the blood off of his gloves onto his pants. He had gotten through the guards, a rather simple task, using a carbon nano-tube tri-dagger. The tri-dagger would force his victims incapable of stitching back up their wounds. The carbon nano-tube technology, well that made the knife lighter and harder than normal steel. He had been waiting for eight damned years to find this stupid kid, and now, when the information he had stolen had finally added up, she was nowhere to be found. He had searched her room that she was supposed to be in, room 409, she was not there. His crew had been able to infiltrate the school and lock it down, and with the convenience of it being in the middle of the woods, it would be hours before help could come. Hours he did not wish to waste. But where was she?!?450Please respect copyright.PENANA8q3RDsFV8E
Jozyne
Jozyne had never had this much fun in her entire life. Of course Strynex had warned her not to tell anyone about this places location or how to get here. Which seemed rather strange, the place seemed harmless enough. But there was a certain aura that hung around the place, as though it was cursed. But she didn't mind it at all. There were all sorts of amusing games and rides here. She wanted to ride and play them all. Strynex had even won a stuffed doll for her at a crane game. He had told her everything was here, and he had been, in her opinion, right. The vedors sold dragon eggs, wands, magical artifacts, there were pony rides, and Ferris wheels, and actual haunted houses, there was so many things...and the best part of it was that she got to share it with a friend. She was not very popular at school, and no friends there. In fact after she surpassed Madalin in her own skill, she had made it her job to spread nasty rumors about her. Strynex made it his job to send spiders into her room at night. Which Jozyne often told him off for doing, but was grateful nonetheless. She yawned. "Aaaw, don't tell me your tired already!" Strynex said pouting in the most adorable way a half-spider half-human boy could. "Nah, I'm just stretching my lungs..." She said yawning again covering her mouth. "We should get you home...come on, the beds calling, and if someone asks where you got the stuffed black cat from, just say you got it in the mail from your mom. Okay?" He said looking at her with his four blue eyes. "O-okay..." She was really tired by now. Strynex grinned at her exhaustion, picked her up, and portalled her back home.
