Jozyne
Morning. No, was it? Jozyne opened her weary eyes and it appeared to be mid-day. She had never slept that late in her life. Then again she had barely gotten any sleep that last night. She yawned and stretched, Strynex was missing. "Strynex?" She asked looking around for her spider buddy. "Yeah what's up?" Startling her, he popped his four eyed face from a hole in the ceiling of the decrepit building and giggled when she yelped. "Am I really that terrifying?" He said baring his small fangs. Jozyne giggled. "No, you're just a goof-ball." He grinned at that and came down from the other floor, asking how she had slept. "I slept well...a bit late...why didn't you wake me?" She asked accusingly. "Oh, no reason, you just looked too peaceful to awaken when you didn't get much sleep." He said grinning. He always seemed to be grinning. She liked that.
Strynex
"Um, well, I guess we had better head back, I bet they are worrying about you." In all truth he had gone back and checked about an hour before Jozyne had awoken, the place was swarming with police, and a dark-skinned man, he looked to be psychic, looked frantic with worry. Claiming that she couldn't have been taken, that she was too special. Something like that anyways. He offered his hand to lead her, which to his disappointment she rejected, claiming it wasn't dark out and she could just follow him back. She had always been very independent for such a young kid, he admired that in her. But to lead her had not been the reason he had offered his hand.
Police Man
Another case of the disappearing children. There had been several other cases much like this one in Gorgeg city. They were all connected that was no doubt. All of the victims who had been held hostage claimed not to remember a thing, but said they felt as though they had just awoken from a dream. Whatever the perpetrators had done to them while they had taken control of the building must have done something to their minds. And to make matters worse, there was a psychic shouting at him that he had to prioritize looking for a certain child. His said her name was Jozyne. He could tell he was psychic for two reasons. One, he wore a cloak, and two, he didn't seem as loopy as the other hostages. That indicated his mindset was stronger than the others, much stronger. "I'm sorry sir that your girl was taken, but we will get to them all as soon as we can." The psychic still seemed flustered, as though it was the end of the world or something. And all things considered, he might have prophecized such a thing.
Timothy
Gone...gone....how could it even be possible? He cursed himself for not moving her before her eighth birthday. Now she was missing, where he had no clue. This couldn't be happening. If only he could remember exactly what the men had looked like who had broken into the school. Their faces seemed blurred, as was their speech in what was meant to be razor sharp memory. But he did clearly remember that it had been a chemical that had caused him to not fully remember what had happened. And it was apparent this police officer was of no help at all. He turned around ready to head back when he felt a tug on his cloak.
Jozyne
Timothy, she knew his name well now. And if ever there was to be a father for her, he would have to have been the closest to it. He checked up on her, cared for her, and made certain she did well in her classes. Now he was about to lose his mind because he thought she was gone. She tugged on his cloak at which point he whirled around. Then, realizing who it was, wrapping her in big hug. "Oh, thank goodness you're alright!" He said with visible and audible relief. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" A barrage of questions, she answered them with a simple nod of the head. Strynex had stayed in the woods, something about the police officers being trained to see those who are invisible. She thought he was paranoid. Oh well. She wondered if her stuffed cat doll was alright, she hoped she could get it back.
Police Man
Despite all the hullabaloo with the missing children and all of that, there was another case on hand. Supposedly a ghost had been inhabiting the school. He thought that to be ridiculous. But none the less him and his partner named Lillian, decided to check it out. The teachers claimed it was dangerous, something about it biting some of the children, and they headed up to the second floor to room 449. Only to find it empty, and barren, nothing invisible inhabited the place, as they were certain it was just a person hiding out there, there were no such things as ghosts. But the place was littered with cobwebs and spiders, and had apparently been abandoned. That was when they heard the crash in room 409.
Strynex
Damn it! He had portalled into Jozyne's room where he had taken up residence ever since they had become friends. He slept as a spider in drawer that she had lined with tissues. But now he had portalled in and miscalculated his localisation and crashed into the drawer where he slept, sending tissues flying. He hoped nobody heard that. "Johnny, look...I think we found our ghost..." No! He froze, in his spot, slowly turning around to find two police, a blonde haired woman and mustached man, staring at him. This was a bad situation. He knew they could see him, invisible though he was, and now they were most likely going to take him away...to who knows where.
Jozyne
She had just gotten finished hugging what she considered her adoptive father, and was entering the building when she heard a shouting...was that Strynex? "Let me go!" What...she watched as two police had Strynex, now fully visible, by one of his arms, struggling to get away. Jozyne climbed between Timothy's legs as he was shielding her from the spider-like boy. "Leave him alone!" She said tears streaming down her face, she could tell he had put up a fight, he had a bruise on his cheek. The cops looked at each other then at the girl who was defending this spider creature. "Miss." The male cop said leaning down to reach her eye-level. "Do you know this boy?"
Strynex
Boy, he had been called worse by what he considered to be normal humans. He figured they were holding back from calling him a freak because they had a creeping suspicion that Jozyne knew him on a friendly level. Jozyne was not normal, if she was she would have also called him a freak, this was the reason the first ability he wanted to learn was turning invisible, so no one could call him that. He wished he could turn invisible now. There were other student milling around, staring at him, whispering things. He hated that, he could not turn invisible, not with the specialized cuffs they had him. He was now visible to the world.
Jozyne
"Of course I know him! He's my best friend!" Jozyne looked up defiantly at the police. "Oh really?" Said the male cop. She glowered at them, she didn't know what they were going to do to Strynex, but if they were going to hurt him, she would have no part of it. She then looked down, she needed to know. "What are you going to do with him?" She asked looking worried. "Oh that's rather simple, we are going to send him back to the Dark Carnival where freaks like him belong." Jozyne cringed. He was not a freak. He was her best friend. "Will I ever see him again?" She asked tearing up again, starting to realize the cruciality of the situation. The cops did not answer. She looked to Strynex, who looked on the verge of tears...
Strynex
The Dark Carnival. The only refuge for people like him. It was huge, it spanned several miles, and was as large as a city. He could have lived there if had wanted to, but he had still wanted to live in the 'normal' world. He had been foolish to think he could do otherwise. Now his best, and only friend was asking if she would ever see him again...he looked up at her tears forming in all four eyes...and took a deep breath. "No, you will most likely not see me again..." He watched in anguish as Jozyne burst into tears and clung to him, repeating how she did not want to see him leave. He tried not to cry, he really did, now they were both a weeping mess.
Lillian
She had never seen anything so sappy in her entire life. She tried to pry the two from each other, but eventually had to ask her partners help to do so. "Come along...what did you say your name was?" She asked trying to be friendly to this weeping freak of nature. "You don't deserve to know my name..." Was the spider-boys response. Harsh. So she led the spider-boy away, knowing how to get the Dark Carnival was rather easy. She decided not to look behind her as the girl was struggling to get out of her caretakers grasp to get to her 'friend.' She would get over it, at least she hoped she would. He forced the boy into the hover car, and watched as he looked out the window, looking incredibly pitiful. She almost felt sorry for him.
Jozyne
It had been three days since Strynex had left. She did nothing but mope in her room, staring at the empty space where the cat-doll had once been. The cops had taken it for evidence or something dumb like that...the plans had been arranged to take her to another school. A supposedly safer school. Today was the day she was supposed to be leaving, the school was located on the edge of Gorgeg city. The police had arranged her placement, not Timothy. They claimed the school was the safest they had...she doubted them. She just wanted Strynex back. That was all she had cared about the past few days. People had started whispering about her in the hallways. She knew they were talking about her and Strynex, because they immediately shut up when she came near. "Come along, it's time to go..." It was Timothy. Only he seemed to understand just how strong the bond between her and Strynex had been. He had given her her space. And now it was time to leave, again. This time however, she had never felt more alone.
