GABRIELA'S P.O.V
I woke up with a headache. What time was it? 7? 8? Looking at the bedside clock, it was 7:45 am. It's still so early. I wanted to go back to sleep but I couldn't. It was the D-day, the Valentine day. Let me go and surprise my parents.
I tiptoed out of my room, to my amazement, everywhere was so dark. I hope I don't fall. I knocked on their door but no response. Hmm, what's going on? I am getting thirsty.
I went downstairs. As my feet hit the last step, like magic, the lights went on. I stood speechless. In a million years, I have never seen such beauty. There were balloons everywhere you looked: red, blue, pink, orange, and white.
The cotton was stunning in it's red and white design. Even the couch had been changed to a white colour. 499Please respect copyright.PENANAKIvhO6a7vQ
It was so beautiful. What made me cry was the sign written in red and white print.

TWO ANGELS!
My dad came out from the back of the couch smiling. "Do you like it?" My dad asked nervously.
"Yes!" I exclaimed. I ran to him and hugged him close.
I couldn't talk anymore because I was crying so much. 499Please respect copyright.PENANAOwiXWemnBU
"I am glad you do."
Just then, my mom spoke. "Hey, I feel cheated where is my hug?"
Before I could blink, she joined in the hug. My dad laughed.
"I want to let you know that your mom and I love you so much," he said softly, stroking my cheek.
"Yes. Don't ever doubt it in your mind," my mom said firmly with tears in her eyes.
I sniffed. They let go of me. Automatically I wished for their hold. "I love you too and I don't doubt it," I stated.499Please respect copyright.PENANAIcNofi0mGB
I saw surprise cross their features and I knew I just made their day.
"You know what, we are painting this town red! So let's go."
I took a look at my mother for the first time that morning. She was wearing a ridiculous gown that had Teddy bear all over, painted pink. Did they paint Teddy bear pink? I wondered.
She sashayed off, leaving me and my dad together.
"You know... My dad took my hand in his... You are the best daughter I would ever want and from now on I will try to be a good father to you."
"Dad, you are a good dad to me," I said with tears.
He shook his head in denial. "No, I will do better." He pushed me towards the stairs.
I had my shower, chose a pink gown that stopped below the knee, and combed my hair in a half-patting way. I smiled at myself in the mirror.
I now wore my white heels. "Ready to go?" I asked myself. "Yes!" I said with confidence.
At other times, I hated Valentine day, but today was going to be a turnaround.

It was so beautiful. It had flowers around, in pink, and the chair was white and pink, the cotton white. It was so beautiful.
Mom and dad were dressed in matching attire. Dad wore a white suit and Mom, a pink gown. It was so gorgeous. I watched as they looked into each other's eyes.
Then their eyes turned to me, and they placed themselves at either side of me, which I found so touching. Together, we were truly the Valentine family.
"You know, today is so special for us as a family," my dad said. "I want you to know, it's a start of something 499Please respect copyright.PENANAYfN9kUCJwo
beautiful for us."
"We trust you, right apple?"
"Yes, yes," I answered.
The waiter came to our table and quietly served us. 499Please respect copyright.PENANACwp8EqQ02F
"May God continue to lead and fuel our hearts with love for humanity," Dad prayed.
"Amen!" My mom and I chorused together.
That prayer made me realise how much I wanted that love. It was pure and holy.
We got lost soonest, as we went to the pool.
"You can't catch me!" Mom brought out her tongue.
"Did you hear your mother?" My Dad asked in amazement.
"I agree with her," I said, smiling.
Dad looked astounded. "I will show both of you!" I ran off.
"Come quick," mom screamed.
I laughed and ran towards her. Dad chased us for a good thirty minutes. By now, we three were exhausted. We sank down on the wick chairs exhausted.
"That was so much fun," I said happily.
"Yes dear," my dad said with a hearty smile.
"Drink your juice," my mom urged.
I happily drank it. I was so happy, then I remembered the present.
"Mom, Dad, wait I am coming."
My dad looked at me sceptically. "Where are you going?"
"I am coming," I ran off before he could ask me anything else.
I went to the place they kept our bags on the other side of the pool.
"Hello. I want to take something from my bag," I told the officer in charge of the place.
He took a look at me. "What's the number of the draw and the colour of the bag?" He asked.
"Number 207 and white with spotted pink design," I explained.
He checked the draws, located the number, used a key to open the locker, and then gave me my bag.
"Thank you." I quickly ransacked the items and brought out the diamond box in it.
I giggled excitedly as I looked at it. I sure hoped they loved it. I quickly went back before they started looking for me.
"Mom, Dad, close your eyes," I said with a smile.
They looked at each other curiously but finally complied. I deposited the box on the table in front of us.
"Open your eyes!" I screamed.
My breath came in shallow gasps as they looked at me. I pointed at the table and watched their faces dilate with surprise.
They both stood up simultaneously and walked to it. Dad opened the box and mom peered expectantly at it.
I thought I would die at how hard I was breathing. He brought out the perfume.
"Oh, My God!" My mom screamed in amazement.
I wondered if she was happy. Then she ran towards me and hugged me tightly.
"Happy Valentine day, mom," I said, grinning as I hugged her tight.
"You are just an enigma," my dad said with tears in his eyes.
Mom and I spread our hands as Dad joined the group hug.
