I threw the toy on the floor, disgusted with it. It was a little Barbie doll that my parents bought for me, claiming I would love it. They assumed things without asking me first what I wanted.
I sighed jumping off my bed. I needed to go to the bathroom because I was pressed. I was irritated that the bathroom wasn't in my room. I had to go out of my room to do that. I didn't like meeting people, I loved being alone.
Opening my door, I peered out of the door making sure no one was within arm's length. Should I make a run for it? I smiled at the thought. I ran halfway when the annoying voice that belonged to my cousin sounded.
"Where are you running to, huh?" She demanded authoritatively.
Taking a deep breath, I turned to face her. "Bathroom, I answered." With that, I ran to the bathroom.
"I will just be waiting for you," she shouted at me. I inwardly cursed. I finished my business and came out.
Not surprisingly, she carried out her threat.
"Gabriela."
"Jessica," I scoffed, not looking at her but the floor with my hands placed inside my jeans pocket.
"I am sick and tired of you, you know? I am here to spend time with you and all you do is ignore me each time I try to strike up a relationship with you. Do I smell or what?"
I looked at her. "Listen, I just want to be alone, OK? You just have to get used to it," I said.
She frowned, and said, "well, you can't always keep to yourself."
I didn't want to stand there blabbing. I walked off, heading to my room.
