MADAME DORIS P.O.V
"Did you see how she was singing today?" I asked my husband.
It was late at night and we were both watching the late-night movie. I lay half on him and a half on the bed. My princess had retired to sleep around 10 pm.
"Yes baby, she was touché. I never knew she could sing. She took after me." He stroked my cheek with his forearm.
I shook my head and hit him on the chest playfully as I glared at him. "Now, she takes after you, huh? 532Please respect copyright.PENANADU2IKFrbN3
Well, Mister, I have a good feminine voice more than yours."
"I couldn't agree more because my voice isn't feminine at all," he joked.
My jaw dropped and I sat up. "Have you been daydreaming of having a feminine voice? How come 532Please respect copyright.PENANAAvxXR3x2NM
you never told me?" I was positively shocked.
He laughed heartily. "Seriously, bunny, my voice is the best. Stop trying to deviate from the main aim," he said, tickling me.
"Stop it!" I laughed. I managed to free myself from him and kneeled on the bed. I screamed on top of my lungs. "You're thinking you have a feminine voice!"
He lunged at me but I quickly jumped off the bed. Laughing and laughing, I kept saying he had a feminine voice.
We ran around the room like children. It was so fun. He finally caught me and swung me around and I spread my hands like a bird. We both giggled.
"Are you going to tell me I have a feminine voice again?" He said laughing, and I said, "No...Yes... No!"
He laughed and swung me around. I pressed my hand on his chest. "Enough, I can't take it anymore."
He smiled and threw me on the bed. I glared at him, only for him to laugh at me.
"What do we do on Valentine day?" I asked, trying to distract him from his laughing spree.
He stopped abruptly and his eyes shone, showing his excitement. "That's my department. I got it covered and am not telling you about it," he beamed.
I stuck my lower lip out to show my displeasure. "Come on, please."
He smiled and jumped on the bed. "Nope, don't force me. All I know is, it will be one of the best days of our lives as a family." He touched the tip of my nose.
"I trust you," I said, and gave him a warm hug.
GABRIELA'S P.O.V
I woke up to a throbbing headache. Earlier, my mom and dad had wished me the best today as they went to their respective workplaces.
I had a whole day to myself with nothing to do. It felt so good and I was the only one at home. I got off from bed excitedly and started singing.
Then it hit me that tomorrow was Valentine day, a day much awaited for by all. I wondered if my parents actually remembered it because they said nothing about it.
I went downstairs and opened all doors and said aloud, "this house belongs to me!"
It felt good to be a little naughty. There was light, and so I excitedly switched on the DVD to play MIGHTY GOD by one of the best Gospel Artistes in Nigeria, Joe Praise.
The song touched my heart and I found myself crying as I sang the song. I realised that God who made us and leads us didn't get frustrated with us just because of our shortcomings, but instead, He gave us the greatest gift, the gift of Jesus Christ.
Here, I was, treating people like trash and I was not any better than them. I am so low in my thinking.
"Thank you, Lord, for opening my heart to know what's more important."
I wanted to do something for my parents tomorrow. If they've forgotten tomorrow was Valentine, I wanted to tell them I remember and they were the greatest gift I 532Please respect copyright.PENANAIhnhE6WEz6
could ask for.
With that in mind, I dabbed my cheeks and ran to my room to get dressed.
It was to two when I finished all I had to do. I wore a brown top on a long cream skirt with brown sneakers.
Good to go, I quickly locked the doors and gate, standing outside for a bike.
I finally saw a bike and hailed him.
"Na where you dey go?" The rider asked.
"Prince Olawale Avenue," I said.
"Na #200."
I quickly calculated how much I had on me. "Alright." I climbed the bike, holding the man's shoulder for 532Please respect copyright.PENANACBoPqsOAZi
assistance.
He zoomed off. I quickly thought of what to buy when I got there, but nothing was coming to my mind. 532Please respect copyright.PENANA2qVNppzRWZ
He dropped me off and I went into a huge designer's shop. I was the type of person who saved and it was starting to pay off.
Excitement surged through me as I stared at one perfume to another.
"Hello." A young girl about my age spoke, walking towards me.
With a smile, I said, “I want to buy something."
"Actually, it's for my parents."
She smiled back. "I am sure my aunt will know the one for you. Come with me."
I followed her through the rows of perfumes. We finally got to her Aunt.
"Aunt, we have a customer," the girl said.
Her Aunt dropped the perfume she held on her hand on the shelf.
"What exactly do you want?" She asked.
"I want to buy a Valentine gift for my parents. I want to know what could be appropriate for them," I said calmly.
"Alright then, let's see." She passed three rows and finally stopped at the fourth one. I watched as her eyes scanned the middle shelf.
"I think this is just right."
She handed me a spray. I looked at it, and it read 'Avon body spray.'. I sprayed a little and liked the fragrance.
"How much is this?" I asked.
"#3,200." She looked at me curiously.
I knew I had that much, so I brought out my purse and paid for it.
"You are a rich kid," the woman remarked.
"It's God," I said simply.
"Your parents are very lucky to have you," the woman said.
I shook my head. "No, I am the lucky one."
