For a few moments Drake just sat there looking off out into the distance “You…you are certain that it is Bastien?” he asked as Jade then reached over into her night stand pulling out the receipt that Penelope gave her and the note of instructions from Bastien. “Bastien wrote this for her to be able to remember who she was to call and everything that she was to do” and as she handed it to Drake he looked over it covering his mouth with his hand after seeing the familiar handwriting “This…this is his handwriting. I just” and as he went to go speak he looked down to his lap and then ran his hand through his hair “Does Liam know” and as he looked to her she could see the pain that has taken over his normally bright brown eyes. “No. I wanted you to be the first one to know, well besides Hana because she was with, but I haven’t told anyone besides you. I wanted to be the one to tell you” and as she looked to him and still saw his shocked look she couldn’t stop herself as she wrapped her arms around him starting to hug him as they sat there “I know that this is a lot to take in and I am sorry” and as she looked to him again he looked right to her leaning in and kissing her forehead “You have nothing to be sorry for, but when you confront him I want to be with you. I have questions that need answers” and as he looked to her he then asked her where she planned on seeing him and as she shrugged her shoulders he reminded her of Liam’s bachelor party that was going to be happening the next evening and that she could do it then because he could sneak her in. She agreed knowing that it might be the best bet in order to get to him and knowing that she would have all her guy friends there she knew that she would be safe.
Over the next few moments Drake and Jade just ended up lying there in bed together, as she had text Maxwell telling him that she was not feeling too well and that she would come out later but right now just wanted to be alone. Jade looked up to Drake as he held her in his arms “Are you going to be okay?” she asked as she leaned in kissing his shoulder a little bit. Drake took in a deep breath as he smiled down to her “I think once I have all the answers I think that I will be but I might not be able to face him alone either, so I am glad that you are going to be there” he said as she smiled “I will always be here for you” and as he looked to her he leaned in capturing her lips with his in a sweet kiss but not like the normal kisses that he would normally, give which of course she understood that his mind was not all there “Drake I know that there is a lot going through your mind but I just want you to know how sorry I am that it came to this and that it ended up being someone you thought you could trust” and as he looked to her he said “You my lady have nothing to be sorry for, my only concern is I never ever in a million years thought that Bash would do something like this. There has to be another reason to why he did it. Maybe he was forced to or maybe he is just deep down not a very good person” and as he shook his head he stated “That is something that we won’t know until we talk to him” and as he brought her more to him and started to run his hand up and down her back he took in another deep breath.
“Jade there was actually something else I wanted to talk to you about. I understand if you don’t want to help me but I know that if I do this, it might cause me to downward spiral and I don’t want that to happen now that we are getting closer to figuring everything out” and as Jade looked to him she said “Hey…we are a good team and if you need something don’t ever be worried to ask me” and as she smiled to him he felt a relief wash over him. As he looked to her and started to move to be balancing on his elbow to look down at her “You remember that envelope of cash that we found in the Beaumont study?” he asked as she nodded her head and he continued “There was an address on the envelope and I finally figured out that its somewhere here in Paris. I was thinking that we could go explore, maybe there is more to this story than we know and I am a little skeptical that it could be a part of what is going on. Not that they would be against you but maybe more hush money for the press, but it leads to an apartment. So would you want to come with me?” and as Jade looked to him and smiled she accepted his offer and not even a few moments later they were heading out towards the address that he had on a slip of paper.
Drake in the front seat of the truck that he uses once and a while and Jade in the passenger side driving to the address that was now programmed into his phone, they drove in a little bit of silence for the most part until soon Drake reached over taking her hand. “Thank you for coming with me, I thought that this could clear our heads a little bit more” and as she leaned over kissing his cheek they soon pulled down a road that then stopped right in front of a white apartment building. “Well this looks a little on the fancy side” Jade said as she started to get out of the truck. Upon both of them getting out he walked to her side taking her hand in his and leading her to the door which in surprise was open. “Now the address said Apt 4” and as they headed in and right to the door, Drake stood there and started to wonder if they should be there, not knowing who this apartment belonged too he looked to Jade who immediately saw the look in his eyes “Don’t you dare think about turning back, we need to find out what they are hiding” and as he looked to her and leaned in stealing a quick kiss he took her hand in his and then brought his other hand up knocking softly at the door.
Drake stood there and for the first time almost ever Jade could see that he looked nervous, or that he was regretting coming here knowing that it’s really none of his business but knowing that it could be something dealing with Jade he took a deep breath as he could now hear footsteps towards the door. Soon the lock clicked open and as the door swung open Drake’s eyes went wide as she looked to the person who just opened the door. The woman standing there was a beautiful brunette with a shocked expression on her face at all and soon was replaced with a smile and she exclaimed “Drake!” and as Drake looked on and so did Jade he soon got out the words “Savannah, wha…” and before he could continue there was a familiar voice coming from behind her as they asked “Who’s that at the…whoa Jade, Drake! What…what are you two doing here?” and as Drake and Jade looked to Maxwell who was now standing right even with Drake’s sister, Drake couldn’t hold back the anger that was now there as he said “Maxwell!” and as Drake took a step forward bring his hand up balling it into a fist aimed right to Maxwell, Jade reached up and grabbed his arm and stared to stop him “Hey, hey we don’t need this right…” and as Jade was then interrupted by a baby crying inside the apartment Drake looked to Savannah “Is that…” and as she looked to him showing her now worried and slightly irritated look she looked right to her brother “Your nephew” and as she looked back into the apartment Drake could hear her say “Don’t worry Bartie, mommy’s coming” and as Drake just stood there completely shocked and bewildered he looked to Maxwell as Maxwell stated “This…this is not what it seems. Please…come in” and as he opened the door a little bit more it was as though Drake was frozen standing there.
Soon Jade got Drake into the apartment and as she realized that he was breathing heavy and still had his fists balled up she soon reached down taking his hand forcing his hand open and starting to rub his back “Hey just take a deep breath and stay calm. We will…” “CALM!” he yelled “How the hell do you expect me to be calm right now Jade?” he said looking to her and though she jumped a little bit at the tone of his voice being more on the angry side she didn’t pull back but stood right there with him “I know that you are upset and confused hell I would be too but let’s talk to her and find out what is going on” and as she looked to Maxwell who was just standing there she went to go ask him something but soon felt Drake again getting worked up “Drake look at me” and as she forced him to look at her she reached up cupping his cheek “You have to take a deep breath. You do realize that she had no idea you were coming here, she had no idea you knew she was here…neither did you. This is probably hitting you both so hard right now but you have to stay calm” and as she looked to him right in the eyes and he was looking right back to her she could see the pain starting to settle in his eyes as he nodded his head leaning in and resting his forehead to hers. “I shouldn’t be here Jade, I should never had figured this out. If she wanted me in her life or to me to know about anything she would have told me, but I haven’t talked to her, or seen her in years” and as he looked to her he then leaned in resting his forehead to her shoulder. But soon he started to head to the door but Jade stopped him pulling him into her arms “Hey…you just found her…you can’t just walk away without talking to her” and as she looked to him “You can’t walk away now” and as she held onto him she felt him hug her tighter as if scared to let go. He soon nodded as they hugged and soon when he pulled away he looked to Maxwell and then to Jade “You are the only thing holding me here Jade” and as he looked around again he started to try and calm himself a little bit more knowing that Jade was right, he had to hear Savannah out.
A few moments later as Jade and Drake were still standing there and he was still holding her to him as if she was a clutch that he knew inside that he needed right now. Maxwell who had been quiet for the most part finally cleared his throat and looked them “Can…can I get you guys anything?” and as if almost on cue Drake looked over to him as he still held Jade and Jade could feel him tensing up so she started to reach up making him look to her “Not now” and as he looked back to Maxwell he said “I would really, really like to give you about ten knuckle sandwiches right now, but be glad that Jade is here, because Beaumont if she wasn’t I swear you probably wouldn’t like me much” and as he looked to him and Maxwell looked down to the ground looking defeated. Soon as it was still just the three of them standing there they realized that the baby cries had now stopped and as Jade looked up to Drake she said “We may not know the whole story, but didn’t Savannah say the baby’s name is Bartie?” and as she looked to Drake he informed her that their dads name was Barthelemy and it could be short for it. Though as the realization set in to Drake’s mind that it could be that Bertrand or Maxwell could be the father he started to feel the anger starting to settle in again as he looked to Jade “I am going to kill him” and as she looked to him she said “Hey…you are not going to jail but I do have a feeling that Bertrand may be the father…do you really think that Maxwell would have let her run off like that” and as Drake looked to her he continued to feel the anger rising as he looked over to Maxwell who was now sitting on the couch out of ear’s range “I don’t know Jade I just…I have so many questions for Bash and now knowing that Savannah is here and Maxwell knew and she had a baby and she didn’t even reach out to me. I just have so many unanswered questions” and as he looked to her she could see the pain in his eyes as she leaned up kissing his cheek and pulling him into a hug “But just remember you are not alone in this” and as she could feel him starting to relax she soon let him go from the hug.
A few moments later they parted as they heard footsteps coming back into the room and soon Savannah reappeared holding a little baby boy in her arms. Drake turned away from Jade and looked towards Savannah “Look before you say anything, if you want me to go, I will go. I will not force you to talk to me if you are not ready too…I know I just showed up. But you have to believe I didn’t know that you were here…I was expecting something else when I got here so I will understand if you want me to leave” and as he looked to his sister who soon looked to him with tears already in her eyes she muffled “Oh Drake” and she handed Bartie off to Maxwell and walked right into Drake’s arms hugging him tightly and letting the tears flow out of her brown eyes and streaming down her cheeks. Jade looked on with a smile as she gave them some space “I am so sorry I shut you out Drake. I didn’t…I didn’t know how to tell you and then I thought that with what I was going to be going through, I didn’t want it to jeopardize you or your image. I was embarrassed and I didn’t want to drag you down with me” and as Drake pulled back looking to his sister “You have no idea how worried sick I have been about you. But I want you to hear it from me, you will never ever embarrass me or drag me down. Your happiness means so much to me Savannah and I do wish you would have trusted in me to be here for you and I am sorry if I gave the impression that I wouldn’t be” and as he looked to her she hugged him again “I know Drake I was just so scared and didn’t know what to do. You have no idea how happy I am to see you right now” she said starting to let more tears starting to stream down her cheeks. Drake pulled her back into another tight hug as Jade just looked on smiling at the family reunion.
Soon as they were standing there a small “Goo” came from over by Maxwell as he said “Don’t worry Bartie, no one forgot about you” and as he started to stand up with him and walking him over to his mama, and uncle. Savannah reached out to take Bartie and soon turned to Drake “Are you ready to meet your nephew?” she asked starting to walk towards Drake with her son calmly in her arms. Drake looked to his sister “I…I yeah I think so” and as she walked to him a little bit more starting to put his nephew into his arms and soon Drake was standing there holding Bartie and all Jade could do was feel her heart soaring. Though as he was looking to Bartie Drake saw that he looked rather happy but he soon questioned “Am…am I doing this right?” and as he was holding Bartie somewhat stiffly Jade started to take another step “Here let me help” and as Jade helped Drake settle Bartie into his arms a little bit more and got his head to be resting gently in the elbow part of Drake’s arm she smiled up to him “Look at you, you’re a pro” and as they smiled to each other as Jade’s hand was still on the back of Bartie’s head for a little more support, Savannah and Maxwell both looked over with wide eyes. Savannah looked to Maxwell and quietly mouthed “Isn’t she going for Liam” and as she looked to Maxwell he looked back to her with the same look in his eyes he mouthed “She was” and as they both looked on seeing how good Jade and Drake looked with Bartie they both could see something there.
Though after a few moments of standing there soon Drake looked to his sister “Now don’t think that just because I have my nephew in my arms that you are free of answering my questions” and as Savannah looked at him and started to nod she said “I am ready to talk but, can we do it in private…just for right now” and as she looked to him he nodded and soon started to hand Bartie who was now sleeping in his arms over to Jade who took him gently and as she was standing there holding him Drake looked to her and for a moment as he saw her talking to a sleeping Bartie so calmly and gently he was lost in a moment seeing her as a mother figure and it made his mind race but soon he shook his head and headed into the other room with Savannah. As they were in the back room Maxwell helped Jade get comfy on the couch with Bartie still in her arms as she started to look over Bartie and soon started to think about her life and how she may or may never have this kind of life and as she looked to Maxwell she asked “How long have you known” and as they looked at each other Maxwell took in a breath and said “Since she left, she confided in me when she found out that she was pregnant…I helped get her this place so she wouldn’t be on the street. She was so scared of bringing Drake down and upsetting him that she made me promise never to speak of her to him. It’s been eating me up ever since but I knew that I couldn’t let her be alone in this so I kept my promise. She didn’t want Drake to disown her or look down on her for sleeping with Bertrand when she wasn’t married but she knew that she had to tell him soon. I have just been there for her to help her…and of course with the money. Bertrand doesn’t know at all about her or Bartie” and as Jade looked to him she gasped “He…he doesn’t know that he has a baby…when is she going to tell him” and as she asked Maxwell he looked to her and said “I don’t know if she really wants to knowing how Bertrand is and how professional he is and how much court means to him, she doesn’t want to bring him embarrassment” and as he looked over running his hand over Bartie’s head a little bit he smiled to Jade “You are going to make a good mother someday Jade I hope that you know that…even if not with Liam” and as Jade looked to Maxwell they soon heard footsteps coming back as they then realized that they had only been gone about 20 minutes.
“Back so soon” Maxwell said as Jade started to stand up still holding Bartie “Well Drake asked questions, I answered…it doesn’t take too long. He is my brother and I just told him everything” and as they stood by each other Drake leaned in kissing the top of her head and started to explain a little bit of what they talked about back in the room and soon they were all sitting around the living room, Jade still holding Bartie “Look at you Jade you are a natural…he never sleeps that long for anyone especially if not his mommy’s arms” and as Savannah smiled to Jade and then to her brother who was now sitting next to Jade, Jade couldn’t help but smile and blush at the thought “Well I hope that someday I get to be a mother, but we will see with time” and as she smiled down to Bartie she started to feel a little bit sad knowing that there is a chance she may never have children. As they continued talking a little bit more about what happened and about when Savannah might tell Bertrand she confessed that she would like to but only when the moment was right and she made them promise her that they wouldn’t say anything until she finally did. Though as they were talking Jade got an idea “We should cherish this moment, I think it calls for a photo” and as Drake looked to her he said “You and your photos” and as Savannah agreed to it she excused herself to get to her room and get changed and she then brought out a suit that she had there that was their dads and Drake then went and changed. Soon they were all standing outside on the patio to her apartment and Savannah was holding Bartie as Drake stood next to her. After snapping the photo all of them wanted one so Jade sent them to everyone on their phones but before they could leave the patio Savannah handed Bartie to Maxwell “I want one of you two” and as Drake felt the blush hitting his cheeks he agreed and Jade did too as they stood closer together but soon Drake turned her to face him and really was holding her to him in a hug for the photo. Once Savannah was happy he leaned in kissing her head and whispered “Thank you for coming with me” and as she smiled to him they didn’t realize Savannah snapped another photo seeing the way that they were looking at each other was a way she had never seen her brother before.
Once they were all back inside they all soon said their goodbyes knowing that they had to get Jade back and as Savannah was holding Bartie she hugged Drake and said that she would see him soon and they both agreed. “You take care and please let me know if there is anything that you may ever need cause you know I love you” and as she smiled to him “Love you too jerk” as she smiled and then walked to Jade hugging her too “It was a pleasure meeting you and Jade…just remember court can be a big mess, but when you find something good…go for it” and as she smiled she showed them to the door and said goodbye again. Drake felt in his heart that this was not going to be the last time that he sees her and as he looked back one more time he smiled to her and waved before walking back to the truck with Jade and Maxwell. Upon getting to the truck Drake looked to Maxwell as if questioning if he was coming with and as Drake sighed he nodded as he looked to Jade “Looks like you get to be in the middle” and as she looked to him and smiled so started to get up into the truck and taking her place in the middle and soon Drake was in the driver seat again and Maxwell was in the passenger seat. “Thank you Drake for the ride back, I know that…” and Drake cut him off by saying “Just cause you are being given a ride doesn’t mean you are off the hook, but we will talk about that later” as he started to pull away from the apartment complex.
As Drake drove down the road the truck was almost completely silent and soon Jade had her head on Drake’s shoulder gently as he drove. Using just one hand on the wheel Drake wrapped his other arm around her shoulders holding her there. Maxwell looked over seeing the way Drake was holding her and would ever so gently place a kiss to the top of her head and sighing gently as he holds her to him a little bit more. “You really care for her don’t you?” Maxwell asked starting to look over at Drake who again was leaning his head against hers as he drove. Though as he took in a deep breath he said “Way more than I should I mean I think I…you know what never mind” and as Drake looked to Maxwell and then back to the road Maxwell could tell that there was something else that was on his mind “You know Drake, I think I know what’s going on, you and her are both stuck on how you feel right” and as Drake pulled the truck over to the side of the road he looked to Jade to make sure that she was still asleep and he looked to Maxwell “Maxwell look, I care for this woman so much that even she looked at me tomorrow and told me that she didn’t care about me and wanted to be with Liam, I would still be there for her. I love her enough to let her go if that was her choice” and as he looked to Maxwell realizing the words that just came flying out of his mouth he felt his face going pale “I mean I..” and as he let out a breath that he didn’t realize he had been holding he looked to Maxwell as if pleading him not to say anything “You don’t have to be worried Drake, I am not going to tell her anything, but maybe you should tell her how you really feel” and as Drake looked down to Jade and he reached in stroking her cheek he expressed that he “couldn’t, it would confuse her too much. She still doesn’t know what she really wants and I can’t give her anything Maxwell” and as he looked to Maxwell, Maxwell could see the look in Drake’s eyes. “I understand I am right there with Hana but I know that I am not good enough for her, I mean I know that my name means something but to provide for her, I have nothing” and as they continued to talk for a few moments, Drake finally then pulled back onto the road “You know just cause we had this heart to heart doesn’t mean that I am over you hiding my sister from me” and as he looked to Maxwell who looked a little bit nervous he smirked and said “Don’t worry Beaumont I will get over it” and as they continued their way back it was in silence.
When they finally got back, Drake did thank Maxwell for looking out for his sister when he couldn’t and as Maxwell walked back to his room Drake got Jade out of the truck and into his arms and carried her all the way to her room. Once in her room he got her to the bed, removed her shoes and socks knowing that she hates sleeping in socks and just as he got her covered up and leaned down kissing her forehead, he turned to leave but heard her say “You missed” and as he turned around he saw her eyes starting to blink open “You should still be napping, you have a big day tomorrow” and as he started to walk back to her bed she scooted over and patted the bed next to where she was laying. Drake looked at her and shook his head “You are trouble you know that?” he asked starting to sit on the edge of the bed and then laying down to be next to her “Yeah but you like it” and as she rolled into him to lay there with him she rested her head on his shoulder as his arm was now around her. “Thank you again for coming with me Jade it really did mean a lot” and as she looked up and smiled she leaned up kissing his cheek tenderly “Of course I would want to be there for you” and as she smiled to him he looked to her “But there is something that I have to ask you that has been on my mind, and please if I am over stepping please tell me to shut up. But what did you mean when you said that you hope to someday have a baby. Did you mean in general or is there something more? I saw the way that you were looking at Bartie when you were holding him and I just…I guess I am just curious” and as he looked to her he could see in her eyes that there was something else and he immediately stated “No you know what I am so sorry sweetie I overstepped…” but before he could continue she leaned up kissing his lips so softly.
When Jade pulled away and looked him in the eyes she started to sit up a little bit in the bed “There is something that I haven’t told anyone here at all. There is a chance that I may never have kids. As badly as I want kiddos running around it may never happen for me unless I adopt” and as she looked to Drake and then down to her lap “I never told you and I have never told Liam, hell Maxwell doesn’t even know” and as she tried to dry her eyes she looked to him “What do you mean Jade is it a health thing? Was it part of those headaches that you were getting?” and as she looked to him and shook her head she took a deep breath “I have what they call Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, basically I have a hormonal imbalance that can make it harder for me to conceive a child. I still you know have my monthly but its wacked out and sometimes I don’t get it at all” and as she looked to him and saw the sadness in his eyes she looked down again “I never told you guys because I was scared. What kind of wife or queen could possibly not have children?” and as she looked to him and felt her heart racing she looked down to her lap again.
Drake immediately without even thinking twice brought her into his arms holding her to him “You have nothing to worry about babe. It’s not a for sure thing that you won’t, it just means it might take some time” and as he started to bring her more to him she leaned more to his embrace. “Jade I can personally speak for myself and probably for Liam that this doesn’t change you and I know personally does not change the way that I feel for you” and as he smiled to her and started to bring her closer she cuddled right next to him. “I mean I just, I will tell Liam sometime soon but with you asking and seeing Bartie today, I realized with the strong chance that it could be you and I in the end of this, that you had a right to know. Most men would probably bail about now” and as she looked up to Drake and saw that he was shaking his head “You don’t see me running for the door do you” and as he leaned in kissing her forehead she looked at him and said “You missed…again” and as she smiled he soon took the hint and leaned in pressing his lips to hers tenderly bringing his hand up to cup her face as the kiss started to deepen. Jade felt her body melting into his embrace even more as he started to lean forward starting to lay her back on the bed a little bit leaning over her and as the kiss parted Drake looked to her and said “Even though it’s scary, that doesn’t mean that trying over and over again wouldn’t be fun but I can understand your worry” and as she looked to him she playfully hit his shoulder “You mean to tell me that this doesn’t scare you away” and as Drake shook his head he said “Jade nothing could scare me away, and if it is you and I in the end of this, that just means that we will have to try more so than normal and I bet that it would happen” and as he looked to her he asked “If…if it is us in the end would you want that?” and as she looked to him finding his brown eyes looking deep into hers as she nodded her head “Yes I…I would want a family, growing up with a lot of family ties I would want that relatively soon after getting married” and as she felt the blush creeping to her cheeks she was greeted with a soft moan and then a kiss to her lips “Same here. I have always wanted a big family you know with the right woman” and as he looked to her he smiled as if hinting to her that she could be the one.
Soon as they were laying there together they continued to talk though soon as he leaned in kissing her deeply and passionately after what she just shared with him it started to heat up a little bit as he started to get his shirt off as he had changed back at Savannah’s after the photo that they took and now he was shirtless as he slide under the blankets. “I want to make you feel good babe” and as he leaned over her a little bit more and started to settle between her legs as her dress was now pushed up to her hips a little bit and as he was kissing her lips, cheek, neck, jaw line and moving towards the top of her chest he let out a suppressed moan “How is it that you can make me bend at the smallest whim” and as she looked to him feeling her heart beat starting to increase more and more she smiled to him and started to reach to him running her hand through his hair “Just like how you make me feel so many different ways” and as she looked to him she started to run her hand up and down his arms and she could feel a shiver run through his body under her touch “You have no idea just how bad I want you Jade. You have no idea the nights that I have laid in bed just wishing I could have you in my arms or under me and giving you the pleasure that you deserve” and as she heard this words she slide her hand down him more starting to cup him a little bit over his jeans “I think I have an idea, because there have been nights where I have been thinking about the same thing” and as she caught his eyes she saw that there was a hunger there and as he leaned in kissing her his hand started to trail down between her legs and starting to slide just over her womanhood over her panties and as she closed her eyes letting out a moan he leaned to her whispering “Imagine the things that we could do together, the way that I would bring you to that edge over and over again. Though as she started to kneel on the bed with him standing there she reached out to his shirt “Don’t be too long” as she leaned up kissing him tenderly “I will try not to be” and as he kissed her one more time he told her to try and get some sleep as there was a big day coming up the next day. Though as he left the room and locked it Jade slumped back to the bed laying down and cuddling his beater that he just left there and as she started to slowly doze off she soon got a text from Drake “Sleep good my temptress ; )” and as she text back saying “You know you like it” she smiled as she started to lay back knowing he might be back soon. Though as the hours ticked by Drake never made it back to her room and soon she was fast asleep and for the first time in a long time, there were no nightmares, but instead a rather different dream played out.
Jade walked out into the living room of their newly purchased home and as she did she found Drake lying on the floor playing with their newborn. Having just woke up from a nap she smiled to the scene in front of her. Her husband Drake looking so carefree and just enjoying time with the baby and as she looked on she realized how happy she finally was and that this time she knew that she made the right choice. As Drake looked over and saw his wife standing there he got up and greeted her with a kiss. But as the kiss parted Jade told him that she was going to go make them some coffee knowing it had been a long night with the baby. Though as she turned and headed into the kitchen she soon flashed to walked into a long hallway and as she looked down she saw herself in a ball gown and as she heard another voice coming down the hall she saw Liam who then greeted her with a kiss and a “Good morning my beautiful wife” and as she went to answer he was tapped on the shoulder by Bastien “Sir you have to get to the meeting with the royal guard” and as Liam looked to Jade she asked “Are we still on for tonight?” and as he looked to her sadly he mentioned that he didn’t know how long the meeting was going to go but that he would try. Liam kissed her again before walking away as she ran her hand over her belly knowing that there was something she had to tell him but he just seemed to be so busy “Don’t worry little one soon your daddy will know about you” and as she walked down the hall back to her room she ended up laying down for a little bit though letting her tears fall freely.
Jade started to wake as she was crying in her dream and when she opened her eyes she felt the tears actually there. She started to think about if her dream was a premonition of what it was going to possibly be like with each of them? Though she knew that Liam would soon be taking on a very big role she saw how he was always busy in her dream but as she shook her head she knew she couldn’t let her dream interfere with her heart. As she got up out of bed and finally changed into some pajama’s she left her room walking down very quietly to Drakes and as she softly knocked on the door there was no answer, knowing that he might still be with Liam. She tried the door handle and was relieved when she found it to be open. She walked in taking in his room which was so nice and neat and as she walked to the bed she started to lay down and literally within moments she was cuddled to his pillow fast asleep. About 2 hours later Drake finally returned to his room and as he got there and walked in that is when he saw her lying there on his bed sleeping so peacefully. He sat down on the edge of the bed for a moment contemplating if he should move her but he knew that if someone came by her room and she wasn’t there, there would be questions that would demand answers. So after a few moments of just watching over her he lifter her up into his arms and started to carry her back to her room getting her tucked in and as he leaned in kissing her forehead he whispered “Sweet dreams Angel” and he then left a small note on her table and then headed out of his room and went back to his though he knew that he wanted to stay right there with her.
The next morning as Jade started to stretch and blink her eyes open she started to look around realizing that she was back in her room. Though she knew that she had fallen asleep in Drake’s room, she started to look around and then found the note that he had left that read “I hope you sleep good beautiful. Don’t be too mad that I moved you – Drake” and as she smiled knowing that she could never be mad at him, she started to sit up in bed knowing that she really didn’t want to get up not just yet but knew that today was going to be a big day. Today would be the day that she would be confronting Bastien about what he did and hopefully find out some information about the set up. Jade started to then get out of bed looking over to the clock that sat on the nightstand as it read 8:00 she knew that at any moment there would be a knock at the door. But when there wasn’t she decided to get up and go get some coffee knowing that she would need it leading up to the nights activity that was going to be going on. As she returned back to her room she started to sit on the edge of her bed starting to feel her mind starting to race a little bit starting to run through all the scenario’s that could happen tonight and as she continued to think she didn’t realize that the time was starting to tick by and soon she was interrupted by a knocking on her door. Standing up she already knew that it was going to be Maxwell and sure enough as she opened the door there he stood “Good Morning Jade, you look like you had a good night’s sleep” and as she smiled to him she said “For the most part I did, how about you” and as she looked to him she soon saw Maxwell push Drake to be in front of him and she saw him standing there in a brand new suit and she was taken aback for a moment as he looked incredibly handsome “Drake…I… I like the new suit” and as she smiled to him and invited them both in, he then smirked a little bit to her “I try to impress” and as she lead them both into her room they started to talk about the day ahead and soon Drake made a comment about how even though Jade is not supposed to be there with them that he would be sneaking her in but she would need a dress.
Maxwell soon left the room for nearly two minutes and came back in with a garment bag “That is why I came prepared” and as he unzipped the bag and took the dress out Jade’s mouth dropped open a little bit “It’s beautiful Maxwell thank you” and as Jade held it up to her body Drake’s eyes went wide. “Don’t you think that might be a little….revealing?” and as he looked to Jade and then to Maxwell he heard Maxwell say “Jade can pull it off though” and as Jade just shook her head and started to head into her bathroom to change she pulled her hair up into a high bun, changed into the dress and applied just a little bit of make up to finish the ensemble. As she looked herself over in the mirror she yelled out to Maxwell to get her black heels by her bag and as she reached out for them and brought them into the room with her, she slipped them on and started to take a deep breath. The dress was absolutely stunning, black with silver sequence spread throughout the dress and the top of the dress was a mesh see through that curved just right with her breasts and you could see the top of them through the material. The mesh continued to be around her neck leaving her shoulders completely bare and the heels that she just put on gave her an additional three inches for height. As she took another deep breath she opened the door and walked through “So what do you think?” she asked as she then saw that the two men were standing there talking and as they stopped and looked to her Maxwell fist pumped the air and exclaimed “Perfect, absolutely perfect” and as she looked to Drake she saw that his mouth was gapped open almost as if in shock “Wow…Morgan…that dress. I don’t have any words. You look…” and as he stepped towards her he smiled “You look stunning” and as she smiled up to him there was a hint of a blush on her cheeks knowing that it meant a lot that he thought that of her.
Soon they were all heading out to get to the Bachelor party, Maxwell and Drake lead Jade out towards the limo and once there Maxwell insisted that he sit in the front just so he could see what it was like to be up front leaving Jade and Drake alone in the back seat. Once all seated Drake and Jade were right next to each other and as the limo pulled off Jade looked to Drake with a little bit of worry in her eyes “Don’t worry Morgan you are going to be just fine, you have Maxwell and you have me” Drake said as he reached over and started to take her hand and then resting them both on her thigh “I know but it’s just rather sad that Bastien is involved this has to be hard for you” and as Drake nodded he knew that this was going to be hard for him but knew that he had to be there for Jade more so than anything. “You know I know one thing is for sure. I will have to spend time fighting the guys off you tonight” he said starting to take his fingers and starting to trace them along her thigh which sent shivers racing through her body. Knowing that his touch alone is enough to make her start to slip into that frame of mind “You will have to try really hard huh?” she asked as he leaned in and whispered “No one will get close to you but me tonight. Too bad we won’t be able to sneak off cause this dress…damn Morgan” he said before leaning in and kissing her cheek. Jade blushed feeling the heat just radiating through her body as she felt his lips on her cheek and started to turn to look at him their lips now just inches apart.
Not even a few moments later they pulled up to the gate entrance knowing that the Speakeasy that the party was being held at was one of the most exclusive ones. Soon though Maxwell got out of the front and then slipped into the back handing the invitations to the guard once they got closer. The King’s Guard looked into the limo seeing Jade and Drake and Jade didn’t even hesitate as she cuddled closer to Drake and said “I am with Drake, isn’t that right darling?” she said as she caught Drake completely off guard as she leaned in and kissed his cheek. Drake looked to her and then the guard and said “That is right she is with me tonight. Can’t wait to show you around…darling” and as the guard nodded and let them through Maxwell just laughed a little bit at the shocked look on Drake’s face and soon was then paying more attention to his phone than Drake and Jade. Though as the limo started to pull forward Drake looked to Jade, leaned in and said “Next time, warn me about what you are about to do…darling” he said looking her in the eyes “But then I wouldn’t get this cute little shy look out of you” she said with a giggle as he leaned in kissing the top of her head before resting his forehead to hers.
Once they were dropped off and heading to the doors Maxwell went in first as Drake and Jade kind of hung back a little bit as Jade was starting to look more and more nervous by the minute. Drake looked to her and turned her to face him “Look at me. I know that you are nervous, but this is just one more step that you have to take before you can clear your name. I know that it’s going to be hard but I know that you can do this, you have the strength and the courage to do this sweetie” and as he smiled to her he brushed a loose strand of hair from her bun behind her ear and then smiled “Thank you Drake. You have no idea how happy I am that you are by my side during this” and as she looked to him he wanted to just lean in and kiss her right there but knew that he couldn’t and as he smiled he said “Well let’s go get some answers” he said starting to hold out his arm to her to escort her in. As soon as they entered the Speakeasy they were greeted with a platter of cigars and knowing that they would have to blend in Drake offered to get her a drink and she requested a whiskey “Did I get convert you?” he said with a laugh as she playfully hit his arm and he started to walk to get their drinks.
As Drake was getting the drinks Jade found herself looking around taking in the décor of the place before her, as it was insanely elegant and shinned of richness and class, so much so that for a few moments she felt out of place. Though as she was looking around she soon heard that familiar voice “I don’t recall seeing a beautiful lady being on the guest list” and as she turned she came face to face with Liam “Although by now I really shouldn’t be surprised, and I know better than to doubt you” and as he smiled to her with that million dollar smile she couldn’t help but smile “You look exquisite by the way, down right beautiful” and as she blushed to his compliment she took a step to him. “Sadly though as much as I would like to spend time with the groom to be,” she said though it pained her heart in a way that she didn’t think that it could she then continued “but I am here on business” and as she looked to him her worry and nerves started to creep back up and Liam could immediately tell as he placed a hand on her shoulder and stated “Is there anything that I can do to help?” and as she looked to him she shook her head “I think it would be safer if you didn’t. I don’t want you to get hurt because of me. But if the time comes that you can safely help me then I will let you know” and as she smiled to him and saw that look in his eyes its like the worry just faded away as she thought to herself ‘How can he do that in just an instant and make my fears subside?’ and she then soon felt Liam take her hand “Sadly I know that I can’t talk to you to much but while I can I wanted to invite you to the Seine bridge tonight. If you will allow me to take you away from this even if for a little bit” and as she looked at him she realized that is what Drake says a lot to her about taking her away.
Jade felt the heat rising to her cheeks again feeling his hand holding hers and as she looked to him she asked in a concerned tone “Aren’t you going to be tired after this?” and as Liam smiled again and leaned in he whispered “Being tired will never keep me away from spending time with you” and as she bit her lip she could feel a heat starting to spread through her as she whispered “What would we be doing?” and as she looked to Liam giving him that smile that he brought out he leaned in and whispered “I am thinking midnight street tour, we would have Paris all to ourselves” and as she smiled to the words that he was speaking she closed her eyes thinking about how it would be amazing to have just some alone time with him but then in her heart she continued to feel guilty “We will see but right now I think that it could be done” and as he smiled to her and kissed her cheek quickly he smiled and said “Here is to hoping that I see you tonight, say around 11 PM” and as he looked to her she gave him a smile as he turned and walked away.
Soon as Jade started to look around again she was interrupted by Neville and Rashad who immediately started to question her about Hana and though Jade wanted so bad to just shut them both down, especially Neville, she kept her calm and composure. Though as she looked over she saw Drake wave her over and as she approached Maxwell explained that he was going to distract everyone with a very, very long speech in honor of Liam and as he headed to the middle of the room they soon saw people starting to take notice and soon it was go time. But right before they could finalize anything Jade felt a rather strong grip on her arm as she looked t who was holding her arm she came face to face with Bastien. As he looked to them with an anger in his eyes he pulled them both to the far side of the room “I see you brought a security breach Drake. I know that you two are close but I am sorry you Lady Jade have to leave” and as he started to make her walk a little bit she pulled her arm back looking him right in the eyes “Actually I am here to talk to you Bastien” though he wasn’t listening as he cut her off and said “You can either leave willingly or with me as an escort, your choice” Drake looked to Bastien not believing that he was being this way “Now hold on Bastien she is here to talk to you not cause,” and before Drake can finish Bastien interrupted yet again “Don’t think for a moment that I won’t escort you out too” and as they looked to each other in a stare down Jade started to step closer to Bastien as she said quietly “Bastien we know it was you” though as she went to continue Drake brought his hand up to quiet her “No let me, we know that you paid Penelope to sabotage Jade, and probably Olivia too” and as Bastien looked to both of them looking irritate he sighed “I don’t have time for your games Drake, Lady Jade is obviously upset because of what is going,” and Drake cut in again which angered Bastien even more “Penelope confessed everything, we have the note you gave her and the receipts, there is no need to play dumb with us Bash” and the look on Bastien’s face was that of anger and annoyance.
“Drake, Lady Jade, I am a servant to the crown, why would I have a care in the world of who Liam chose to marry? You of all people Drake should know that I just protect and serve” and as Drake looked at him a hurt expression ran over his brown eyes “Bash, that is what we are trying to figure out. It doesn’t make sense to why you would do something like this, so who had a hand in it? Who told you to do what you did?” Though as Bash shook his head he said with his voice tone getting deeper “Drake believe me you don’t want to do this, actually I beg you not to do this right now” and as they looked to each other again Drake couldn’t hold back “Bash you were always one of the good guys, you took my sister and I in when we had nowhere else to go, you have been there for Liam and his family for years, what changed? We deserve…” and Bash lashed out “Damnit Drake I can’t!” and as Jade jumped back a little bit startled she looked to him “Fine I am just going to go don’t worry about me I will see my way out” and as she started to turn Drake grabbed her arm “No, we will both go. He doesn’t care about me, you or anything so let’s get out of here” and as Drake looked to Bash there was a hurt in Bash’s eyes and as Drake shook his head he looked back to Jade “No, you stay here for Liam, I will be alright” and as she looked to Drake and gave a fake smile she looked to Bastien “I am sorry for wasting your time” and she started to walk away. Drake bowed his head “I can’t believe you Bash” and as he looked to Bash who ran a hand through his hair he said “Drake, I didn’t want this, it was never meant to be personal. You are like my family I never meant…” and before Bash could finish Drake chuckled “Family my ass, this…this is personal, you did something unbelievably cruel and now you can’t even man up to it. I may forgive you someday but don’t you dare think for a moment that I am ever going to let you near her again, orders or no orders, stay away from Jade” and as he started to turn to walk Bash called to him and Drake just looked back and said “Excuse me Bastien I have to go chase after an amazing woman who is just trying to clear her name. Maybe soon you will realize what you might be losing and just be honest with me, and with her, but until then, do yourself a favor, and stay away from me too” and as he turned and walked away he heard Bastien yelling after him but he just kept walking.
As Drake started to head outside he could feel his heart beating and the anger and hurt because of the man that he considered to be family, he was walking a little bit too fast and ended up smacking right into Bertrand, and as he looked up the anger just skyrocketed “You!” and as Bertrand looked to him he said “I beg your pardon you ran into me Drake” and as Drake looked at him, it took everything inside of his mind, body and soul to not bright his balled up fist to Bertrand’s jaw, but as he thought about Jade he started to calm a little bit “I found my sister…and to my surprise I found out everything you did to her. You are lucky that you are not on the ground right now” and as Drake looked to Bertrand with anger raging through him and to his brown eyes making them appear darker, Bertrand’s eyes widened “You…you found Lady Savannah? I do hope that she is alright” and as Drake looked to him he could feel his heart beat through his chest as he started to chuckle to stop himself from lashing out “You know something, she was in love with you and you ripped her heart out, no thanks to you she is too embarrassed to come back to court” and as he continued to explain what he knew he could see Bertrand’s face going white as he started to step to him a little bit getting right in his face. “You left her heartbroken and in distress, you didn’t even know where she went but your brother, Maxwell did. He has been helping her as much as he can” and as Drake looked to Bertrand as he said “I had no idea she was in distress I…I don’t know what I could have done to help her if I had even known she was in need” and Drake couldn’t take it anymore and as he knew he shouldn’t be saying anything as he promised Savannah he wouldn’t he couldn’t help it “She needed you and all you did was turn your back. You didn’t even go after her after she expressed that she was in love with you. She needed you so badly and you being the noble that you are threw her and your son to the curb” and as Drake stared him down Bertrand’s eyes got wide and his face looked like he had seen a ghost “She…she was pregnant…” and as he struggled to get those words out Drake started to get even more angry as he grabbed Bertrand by the lapels of his jacket “How dare you unhand me this instant” Bertrand yelled and soon Maxwell came over seeing the scene that was about to play out.
Drake shook his head “You damn nobles, you think that you can just play with us commoners and then throw us to the street, well let me tell you, you fucked with the wrong one. You broke my sisters heart, you tried to break Jade down, I think it’s about time you had something broken” and without even hesitating as the anger raged through him and the darkness of his eyes shone to Bertrand he brought his fist up and just before making contact Maxwell reached out grabbing Drake’s arm “Maxwell let me go or you will have something broken too for what you did” and as Drake looked right to Maxwell, Maxwell didn’t let go and just as Drake started to turn towards Maxwell Jade came running back in and instantly wraps her arms around Drake’s waist. “Look at me Drake, now” and as her voice was stern towards him he didn’t look right away but soon her hand slid to his face “Drake…look at me” and as she started to turn his head to her he caught her green eyes locking with his deep brown ones.
Jade looked to him and felt the tears leaving her eyes “You don’t want to do this Drake, remember seeing the smile on Savannah’s face when you saw her, she wouldn’t want you to do this. Please just let it go” and as he just looked to her his face stone like with anger and hurt running over his eyes as he hated seeing her cry she looked to him again “Please” and he couldn’t take it and he didn’t care who was there he folded damn near in half leaning to Jade and wrapping her arms around her waist hugging he to him as he hid his face on her shoulder and she held him right to her rubbing his back gently “It’s okay, we are going to get through this. I promise” and as he continued to just stand there holding her to him with a grip that had no intention on loosening anytime soon she could feel his body trembling as she started to whisper “Come on, let’s go” and as he nodded against her shoulder he looked to her and in his eyes was a hurt, a pain, something that she had only seen once before as she started to turn him to walk out and back out to their limo. Once there and in the back Drake literally collapsed into the seat and once Jade was in the seat as well and the door shut Drake immediately pulled her to him to be in his lap holding he close as he rested his head on her shoulder again. His body was still shivering as he said “I…I am so sorry Morgan I was an idiot I just…knowing the pain that my sister went through and then now the pain that you are going through. You two are two of the most important people in my life and I hate that I couldn’t help either one of you” and as she looked to him catching that single tear run down his cheek “Drake you can’t beat yourself up about this, you didn’t know what happened between them and you couldn’t have prevented what happened to me. But you are here now and you are helping me, you know where Savannah is and you know that she is okay, everything is going to be okay” and as she looked to him and their eyes met he said “You are something else you know that” and as he leaned to her and captured her cherry red lips he kissed her passionately. His hands immediately went around her waist as one went up into her hair as the kisses continued for a moment but ended soon after.
As they both just sat there holding each other and stealing kisses as the limo drove on, soon Drake looked to Jade and started to run his hand up and down her back and then through her hair “I don’t know how you do it Jade, but I wish I could be more like you” and as Jade chuckled a little bit she said “I am not that strong Drake, believe me I am not” and as she looked to him and started to stroke his cheek she could tell that there was something else that was on his mind. “What else are you thinking about?” and as he took in a deep breath and started to then look down he said “All this time, my whole life someone or something I cared about always gets hurt. I never have been able to protect the people I care about and its killing me and making me think” and as she looked to him feeling the pain in her chest as he looked so sad she said “Drake, you already…” and before she could finish he kissed her one more time before looking right into her eyes “It got me thinking, first the brothers, now Bastien…Jade…can we really trust anyone?” and as the question hit her like a brick she started to wonder if he was right, who could they trust?
