Another shiny day, the cold breeze hitting my face as I tie my shoes and walk outside the apartment, looking at the open space with tables and chairs at the left along with the rest of the apartments, all built by stone and shining bright.
The clear view at the right with the houses on the hill down and the city beneath, being like tiny insects from the mountain.
Walking towards the iron gate I open it and walk on the road, seeing the trees and the few small houses, as the road continues I gaze left and right at the trees, the green leaves covering the mountain and as I stare back at the road I saw a sign in front of me, one looking at the right saying kagoula cave
The other pointing in front of me and with big black letters writing "eagles pass"
Standing for a moment to decide and finally walking towards the eagle pass
I take many steps in the dirt finding a small brook at my left, the trees covering me from the sun a s I walk I see the brook expanding to a small river and two other brooks commenting to the river along with a dark wooden bridge Tied on two trees from each side, stepping on the bridge and walking at the other side, having two paths again, one on the left and one in front leading up, I look at them and a man shows up from the road, an older man with dark hair and grey ones coming out from the sides
We wave at each other and says "if you want to go for a nice walk you should follow the road from here except if you want to take the other road and go back to the village" I smile at him and say thanks
I continue with the road curving right and then left, at my right side now seeing beneath me a small hill and white thin trees with lightning striking the ground, I look at them more carefully and found some far enough that connect with another tree and comes out again, my face doesn't change but I draw my phone and take a picture and then continuing.
Slowly hunger comes to my mind and I draw my backpack and take some food before my eyes catch at the ground, I get close and
kneel and see small strawberries, I pick them with my fingers and place them in my palm, washing them with my bottle of water and eating them, feeling their sweetness hitting my tongue and continuing, reaching up and slowly a cold shivers my spine and see fog reaching until my knees, I continue walking and going higher, looking at the thin trees with the fog surrounding them.
Going higher the fog slowly retreats and see a hill in front of me, I go close and look down at the trees, the distance between me and the ground making me a bit dizzy but I stand still and then I look at the green land and at now minuscule houses, I sit down and lean back at one of the trees, I stayed there staring for many minutes, wandering at my mind with no purpose or something specific.
After enough time I started to get bored, in the end what is a walk in nature without some people to have fun and talk to, I continue down, meeting people some young but most of them in the middle of their life or older.
I go back and open the iron gate, I wave at the people there go and come out from the doors, most of them old.
Suddenly a slender silhouette appears in my sight, a man almost my age, having a bald haircut with red hair and black eyes and a pointing cheek
we gaze at each other and I open the door, going inside and staying there until the afternoon when finally decide to go out get some light even a little, as I walk outside the man appears again, we stare at each other for a glimpse and o go a bit closer, he look at me again "hi" I say "hi" and then comes closer giving me his hand "Vasil" I stare at him for a heartbeat and give my hand "Lawrence"
"Is this your first day here?" "I came three days ago" "so you are here more days than I am" he makes a pause and says "I was ready to go hang out with some friends, would you like to come?" I answer almost immediately "yes" "great, let's go" We go down the road, passing the old houses at first there was only silence and he breaks it "so where are you from?" "I'm from thespian, What about you?" "Im from Farra, We are a bit far" we continue talking and he asks me at one point "do you have a girlfriend?" "Yes, what about you?" "I have, we are three months together" "we are almost two years together" he laughs softly " that's a goal"
We go to the center of the village, the school in front of us And the two slides and a high bar outside of it.
I look back seeing the yellow pristine building, inside the window men wearing broad brown clothes and white skirts with long shoes having at their end a red furry ball, I turn my eyes at the green mountains and a mountain piercing the sky, feeling so close.
I hear a clap and look back, seeing Vasil and a short girl with baggy trousers that almost cover her white shoes and black baggy trouser, she look at me with her black wide eyes and my eyes jump from her eyes to her raven hair, we gave hands and she says "Joanna" "Lawrence" we look at each other for a while and Vasil says "so, are we gonna go for a walk or not?" We nod at him and Joanna walks forward "follow me, I know a place that you will like" we follow her talking the three of us and as I look at Vasil she draw her phone out, looking at a man with his hair tied on her screen and I say "nice photo" she look at me with her wide eyes and says with her soft high pitched voice "thanks" "have you watched the series until season four?" She says with an excited voice "yes I watched it, still waiting one year for the next part"
We continue talking and suddenly Joanna turns, I look at her walking in a half constructed building, having four pillar and a staircase to the open roof, we go one by one and we sit down, Vasil lays free on the ground with his arms behind his head, Joanna sit holding with her hands her knees and I sit curling a bit.
I look at both of them staring at the sky and I decide to watch too and my gaze fill with bright stars like white embers everywhere in the sky, shining brighter than I have ever seen
Along with the lights of the city and the sea at the horizon, I stare astonished with my mouth open,my eyes cannot leave the view, after a minute or so I felt a palm touching my elbow, I slowly take my eyes and see
Joanna looking at me and says with some hesitation "do you want me to show you some of my art?" I nod my head and starts swiping at her phone, a colorful tree with its branched deep in the ground, two wolfs one black and one white and then a humanoid monster with hair almost reaching its eyes and pointy ears.
"You are really good" she make a faint smirk "if you think so" Vasil look at us and says "so Joanna do you have a boyfriend?" Joanna look at the lights of the city, having her eyes half closed "I had one two months ago, but we broke up after he forced himself on me without a condom" Joanna curls and grab her legs,
We stay silent for a heartbeat and I say "me and my girlfriend once thought that the condom broke" Vasil says with a smirk and a loud voice "we thought the same, we were scared for days" and the three of us laugh, Vasil says Have Youve seen a man yesterday coming at my apartment?" "Yes, your father I guess?" "Stepfather" Vasil look down at the brick ground "my real father is out somewhere drinking right now, The last time I saw him we almost got into a fight" his voice broke down a bit as he continues "and now this man came to our house six years ago and He gave me his love even if I wasn't his child, I own to this man a lot" we stay silent for a moment and then we look again at the sky but not long after we start talking, laughing, breaking our voices but laughing again.
suddenly we hear footsteps from the bottom of the stairs and we look as the steps get louder and Two girls show up. one with blonde hair and red marks on her cheeks the other having black hair and big eyebrows, the blonde girl shout "we finally found you" Vasil and Joanna get up, giving their hands and hugging them, I get up last and the two girls look at me, the blonde one says with a smile as she gave me her hand "my name's Ellie" the other one comes and says with a loud voice "jenny" I look at both of them and introduce myself, looking at me with their bright eyes brimming with life.
We descend the stairs and walk at the road, seeing at the left houses and then going to the center of the village, there we see a woman and two men sitting at the benches and we go closer, Ellie and the rest greet them and then they look at me, I gave my hand first to a woman, having tan skin and black hair, reaching almost my shoulder "gelsida" she says with a blank stare and I shake her hand and said my name, a man then walks beside her
I gave my hand to the skinny tall man with short hair and says with a soft voice, catching my attention "alan"
And another man come in front of me, having tan skin, giving me his skeletal hand and he look at me with a wide smile and his black eyes shinning "dane" "Lawrence" he gave me his hand and he makes a hard shake as he smile, we sit down at some benches and Gelsida draw a pack of cards from her pocket and asks "Vasil, Lawrence what games do you know?" I started telling her and Elli says "we are gonna teach you a new one" "how is it called?" "bullshit" she lay five cards on each of us and says "Lawrence you must play an ace or more and announce it and make it face down" I draw two cards and I announce it "Vasil you continue with the next number," he says "and what if I don't?" "Play something else and ill show you, you just have to announce is two and how many there are" Vasil plays and
Ellie scream "bullshit" and takes the card revealing it to be three "take the deck" Vasil and takes it and says "oh I understand now" and we continue, Jenny then announce her cards and I scream bullshit, she reveals them and show me a two and her middle finger with a smile and says "now take them, stupid" I show her the middle finger and I take the deck and we continue, after many middle fingers and slurs is Ellies turn and announce "two four's" and all of us shout bullshit, Ellie show her cards and are two four's, Dane says "how the fuck?, I thought Vasil put the three of them down" "well he lied, and now take the cards" Dane takes them and we continue.
After many games Joanna says "I must go home" "can I come with you?" She nod her head and I get up and she wave at them and we walk away on the pitch black road with only the lights of some buildings lighting our way, at first we both stay silent and after a while she says "I haven't asked you, from where are you from?" "I'm from thespian What about you?"

I raise my eyebrows and she keep looking at me with an excited face "Yes" without a warning she stars running down, and swiftly run behind her, quickly passing her, I run until the road starts ascending again and I look behind me and see her stopping, I turn back and walk at her with both of us breathing heavy "it seems I've won" she says nothing and I say "are you alright?" "Yes I just have asthma along with some problems with my heart" my heart skip a bit "is something serious?" She says with a bright voice "it's just that sometimes I have panic attacks that all" she starts walking again and we continue talking for several minutes before she says "we are here"I see her house with the small garden and the white walls having no difference with the other ones, she sit at the stairs and I say "shouldn't you go inside?"
"I can stay a little longer, my sister can take care of the baby a little longer" "oh alright, can't her husband help her?" I sit at the stairs and she continues with a bit of bittersweet tone
"He left her right when he learned she was pregnant" I stay silent and look down at my shoes thinking nothing, she look back to me and says in the same soft high pitched voice "anyway, tell me more about you" "I don't have many things to says, I go to the gym play bass, write stories and study so I can pass the exams to become a firefighter"
"I hope you will achieve all of them" my eyes widen and in an instant relax, a warmth starts building inside my chest and I ask with a faint calm voice "what about you? What are your goals?" She "I want to draw tattoos" "I'm sure they will be beautiful" she grows a smirk and gets up, saying "I have to go now, see you tomorrow" I get up and raise my hand until my stomach before she leans on me and hugs me.

lean back, Smilling to me and saying "Goodnight" i smile back and turn my back and as she opens the door she says "you should go all straight, it will lead you to the others much faster" "thanks" we wave at each other and she close the door, I place my hands in my pockets still feeling the warmth inside me and look at the stars pensively, feeling the night passing faster than it should and soon the warmth gets replaced with emptiness, thinking how we open up so quickly.
I reach back to the others all standing up except Vasil and they look at me with their eyes wide open and Vasil says "i told you he is going to come back" i ask "what happened?" The others laugh loud and Ellie says "we were ready to come find you because we thought you got lost" she place her hand close to her mouth and sits down bursting out laughing with the rest of us laughing too, I almost fall to my knees and look back at them with Ellie's eyes glistening and as we take deep breaths dane look at me asking "so did you kiss her?" I look at him with my eyebrows leaned a bit down and my voice broke with a laugh
"We were just talking" he looked at me with a smirk and his eyebrow up saying "oh come on say the truth, whatever happens here stays here" we start laughing again but not so intensely, we sit down and continue to talk and then Vasil looked at his phone, I take a peek and see the time, two o'clock and place his phone back.
we change the subject and continue talking endlessly and after much time Ellie gets up and says "I think we must go" the others get up and dane asks "Ellie won't you come with us?" "I'm going to accompany them until the main road along with Jenny," the others say good night at them and we saunter, talking at one point Jenny says "would you like to come with us for to the mountain tomorrow afternoon?" We agree with a mutual nod, Ellie says "we will leave now" we shake hands and we both shout at each other "goodnight" We walk home narrating the day.
Reaching home and opening the iron gate and we shake hands, saying to him "see you in the morning" we go inside our apartments, I look at my phone seeing if i had any message, I reply in one chat and then change and fall on the bed, staring for a moment the roof, trying to relieve the moment in my head, maybe even feel the warmth of our hug, I smirk and after a while i turn to the side, still smirking and then closing my eyes and relaxing my face.
