Joseph looked at his father with fear in his eyes. He had been hit very hard by his father’s fist, the one he trusted to protect him. Now it had turned to harming him.
“Joseph! You won’t be anything if you don’t fight back. That’s what you’re supposed to do to me. Fight back!” Dan called out to his son. “I can’t… I’m too small.” He responded. Dan lowers his head down shaking it.

That was the first and last time I took a beating without fighting back. My father and my mother taught me to always fight back no matter what. I trained for years with my twin sister. Mother trained her in the art of wiles and quickness. Father trained me to be fast and strong. We just had no idea why we were being trained. We had no idea what normal was. We had lived a life that wasn’t normal for so long. Things were about to change quickly.

I come home from school. I sit my bag to the right of the door as I always did. Mother would pick it up later, as I knew, but she would be fussing as she did so.
Then I walk into the kitchen. I see my sister, who always somehow manages to beat me home by at least ten minutes, standing with my father. The odd thing is, my father is never home this early. His job doesn’t let him come home early, ever.
So I knew something was wrong. I could see it on his face. It wasn’t deathly worry but it was frustration.

“Come over here son.” Daniel tells Joseph. Joseph looks at his sister with a questioning look. She looks down at her feet. Joseph sits at the counter looking at his father. He hears his mother fussing in the hallway about him leaving his bag in the corner.
“Joseph, something bad has happened.” Dan begins telling his son. “What?” Joseph asks quickly. “I’ve been compromised. I was nearly killed and burned as an agent yesterday.” Dan begins. “Dad, that’s, terrible. But you weren’t burned?” Joseph asks his father.
“No. I managed to save my skin. But we’ve been given orders to move. We can’t stay here anymore.” Dan tells his son. “Move? Why? I mean, we can’t move! We have a life here! Tell them to go shove their orders back where they came from.” Joseph says standing up.
“Joseph. Look, I can’t change things. I mean, you adapt quickly. You and your sister are special that way. You just have to do it one more time. California isn’t the place for our family anymore.” Dan says. “Then what is dad? What?” Joseph says getting up. “Jas! Jas…” Natalia calls out. He however ignores her and walks up their stairs to his room.
Natalia turns to their father and lets out a sigh. “He’s just a little bugged about leaving Madison.” Natalia says. “They’re just friends. It’s not like it matters that much.” Dan says to her. She scoffs at the remark. “Well, that’s true, but you seem to forget they’ve been friends since birth. It’s kind of hard to break away from someone you’ve known as a constant dad.” She tells him as she leaves the kitchen.
Daniel sighs to himself. He didn’t think about how it would affect his children. He however was a man that did as he was told. He was also a man that didn’t care for people to know his secrets. His were in danger of being revealed.
He would do whatever was necessary to keep those secrets where they were… hidden away.

Joseph, in his room, called his best friend Madison Parks, actress and queen of drama. She answered the phone in her usual over the top manner.
“What can I do for you Mr. Arlington?” Madison said over the phone. “I have something to tell you old friend.” He said with a frownish smile on his face. “Shoot. You sound like you’re frowning and smiling at the same time again.” She said. “You know me too well. My dad told me he was compromised today. With that threat looming over his head… we have to move.” Joseph tells her.
“Really? You have to move? Joseph…” “Well, you know, somethings you can’t stop Madison. Look, I’m sure I’ll be able to visit you all the time and…” “Jas, you won’t ever have to visit me. I have a personal jet. I’ll come to you. Don’t worry yourself over this move. I’m sure it will be a good thing.” “And by that you mean?” “I’ll have a chance to focus Arlington. I am a bust woman you know.
