Malfoy looked taken aback. "W-wait, what?"
Lily smiled smugly. "Yes. I'll prove my bravery to you."
He still had a stupid look on his face when she turned around.
"Lils! Try it out, it's amazing." Harry exclaimed happily.
Lily nodded, and huffed out a breath. "Yea, I was just about to go up."
She turned around to Malfoy once again, but he had a frown on his face. Lily stepped toward the Hippogriff, and made eye contact. Crap. Buckbeak ruffled his feathers, and stepped back. Lily stepped forward again.
"Hello there." She whispered, barely loud enough for anyone but Buckbeak to hear.
He suddenly stood on his two hind legs, and advanced on Lily. She stepped back, but was too slow. The Hippogriff would've stepped on her, but someone pushed her out of the way. She turned around, gasping. Her savior lay on the floor, with their arm over their face.
Lily rushed to their side, and saw a wound on their pale arm. Buckbeak had already been taken away by Hagrid, and there was a crowd forming around the two teens. Lily searched the crowd for the familiar face of her brother, and found him. He had wide eyes, and his mouth was shaped like an 'o'.
The red-headed Gryffindor picked up the arm carefully, and studied the wound.
"Are you alright?" She asked.
Lily looked down, and gasped in shock. It was-
"MALFOY?!"

Lily had escorted Malfoy to the Hospital Wing, Madam Pomfrey groaned, and took the blonde to a bed. Lily had nothing to do, so she sat on the chair next to the bed. The two teens sat in silence.
Lily looked up. "Uh, thanks for-"
"-Just so you know, I did it for myself."
Lily scrunched her eyebrows. "What?"
Draco rolled his eyes. "If you'd gotten hurt, I would've gotten in trouble."
Lily crossed her arms, and slouched. "Yea, because you don't have the heart to do anything for somebody else."
Malfoy glared at her. "Listen, you should be grateful that I helped you, possibly saved your life."
Lily scoffed. "Well, I wouldn't have even been in that position if you hadn't dared me."
"And you didn't have to do it." Malfoy shot back.
Lily opened her mouth to say something, but paused.
"Wait, are you concerned about me?"
Malfoy had a horrified look on his face. "Me? Concerned? About YOU?! I think you must've hit your head too hard on the ground."
"Well, at least now I know you didn't."

"Hey Lils, you alright?"
Lily looked up to see her dark haired brother, holding blankets.
"Yea, I'm alright. Why?"
Harry sat down next to her on the couch, covering the blanket over the two.
"You seemed pretty quiet. Well, too quiet for you." Harry chuckled.
Lily punched him on the shoulder lightly. "Oh shut up."
There was a comfortable silence between them, in which Lily placed her head on her twin's shoulder.
"Goodnight Lily."
Lily looked up at her brother, and around the dark Common Room.
"Night."
