"Bonus round" came over the disembodied sound system. "The Battle of Lesser Divinities has an additional match: The Maiden of Pain, Loviatar, 15th level illusionist, 10th level assassin, versus The Cat- "
Julia said "skip" and her part of the introduction ended.
Since late 2012, F.B. warned Julia this battle was coming. In 2019, she had finally listened.
Julia had also procrastinated on not seeking a mate for six years, then ended up with Felix.
Felix wasn't so bad. F.B. could persuade him, and then Felix could persuade Julia.
For the battle, Felix had assisted Julia with the design of her charcoal-colored, plate mail armor.
Crackling, marvelous orange flames emanated from the joints and crevices of the armor plates.
"I chose you for the first round, since you're the weakest among all the lesser divinities."
"Insulting my level 20 intelligence, Cat Goddess? You were the last kid chosen for dodgeball."
That was true. Still, Julia had a level 22 intelligence. She would not fall victim to taunts either.
F.B. told Julia though she was chosen last for Team Order, she should challenge Loviatar to a battle.
T-Laz was stronger than Louhl and Tuonetar on Team Chaos, so Julia's choice was unexpected.
Julia's Team Order teammates - Kiputy and Mielikki - watched the battle from the Astral Plane.
"What's with the insulting banter? I thought you had werewolf followers. You're acting like spider-"
In a seemingly surprise move, Loviatar stopped talking, then threw two sharp discs at Julia's face.
F.B. had predicted this, and told Julia to run right into the discs. She could even raise her chin.
Julia brought up her war hammer and ran in a bee line towards Loviatar. The discs approached her face.
People watch too many superhero movies, F.B. had said. They'll expect you to move your hands.
As the discs were about to hit her uncovered face, Julia didn't do a swipe in the air. She blinked.
This caught everyone off guard. They did expect her to swipe through the air as if using an iPad.
The discs dropped because of her power over physical objects. She didn't need to swipe to do it.
Then Julia flipped her war hammer to the side, and ignited a flame behind a piece of glass in the center. The flame created a beam of light focused on Loviatar's eyes, and the bangs of her hair.
F.B. had said this would be akin to burning an ant with a magnifying glass.
The bangs, eyebrows, and eyelashes on Loviatar's head went aflame.
Loviatar's pulled out a dagger - but unable to see - stabbed wildly in the air.
Julia's war hammer was about to smash into Loviatar's face. Loviatar made a final stabbing motion.
The dagger found a chink in Julia's armor at the knee. Julia fell over, passing out from the pain.
Julia's health dropped from a bright green to a deep red.
Loviatar stood, hovered over Julia, and said: "Defeating you, Werewolf Goddess, is icing on the cake."
