"Oh? What's this?" Kendall mumbles as she takes a little, leather bound book out from the chest.
Lionel looks over at her. "Find something interesting then?"
She gets up and brings the book over to him. "I found Grammy's journal, I think." She carefully flips open the cover to the first page.

I met a man today. Tall, handsome, smart...But he's also a smidge old. He's 27, so 11 years older than myself, but I've never quite met a man like him before. He has got this real funny accent, European I think or something. It's cruel of me, I know, but it made me giggle when he spoke.
We met while I was in the library, checking out a novel we were going to read next week in English. He actually was the man who helped me find the book. His name was Daniel Bell. He said he was just visiting a friend he had met from his university years...I suppose by university he means college anyhow.
After I checked out my book, he and I went over to the cafe to talk. (Sometimes it is quite nice looking older than 16, people treat you more respectfully then.) He told me about how he lives off in London, England and about his friend who had moved here to America to turn over a new leaf. (Maybe I shouldn't talk to a man who's friends with a convict...But he surely was right smart looking.)
Then I accidentally told him I am only 16. He nearly left me then, but for some odd reason he never did. We talked a few more hours before he paid for my meal and walked me most of the way home. Mama and Papa surely wouldn't accept this...But I can wait. I'll save up money then one day I'll go to England and find this handsome Bell again.
Kendall closes the book with an odd expression. Her brother looks at her in interest. "What?"
"Granddad was a pervert. He and Grammy apparently met when he was 27 and she was 16...Ew." She says and shakes her head.
Lionel mulls this over. "Well...At least they didn't do anything at those ages...Right?"
"I don't know, but I sure as bloody heck am not finding out." Kenny pushes the book into his hands and shuts the chest. "You can if you want. I prefer to keep an innocent memory of Granddad and not have to look at Grammy any more oddly than I already do."
