As Jade sat in her room watching the sun starting to rise over the horizon she knew that she had to do something about what she was going through as she knew soon enough she would need all of her strength in order to get what she needed done. Though as she looked to the clock and realized that it was only 5:30 AM she knew that she would beat everyone up if she decided to go on a morning run. Changing into her running pants and sports bra she laced up her shoes and pulled her hair out of her eyes as she then headed out to take a few laps. Thinking as her feet crunched the ground around her she couldn’t help but think about the dreams and how she had finally opened up about her parents to Drake though felt as though she was not ready to tell Liam the whole story she knew that someday she would have too. But as she started to head back to her room she soon felt as though she was being watched but as she looked around her she couldn’t see anyone at all, so she shrugged off the feeling and headed into her room but before she could even reach the bathroom she heard a knock on the door and immediately realized that it must have been Maxwell that was making sure that she was there.
“Maxwell you could have stopped me when you saw me…” she started as she opened the door only to come face to face with “Liam…what are you doing here?” she asked as she looked at him in shock knowing that this could cause issues if anyone saw him coming into her room especially now with what Drake told her when he was there about Madeleine. “Lady Jade, may I come in? I promise not to take up too much of your morning” and as Jade nodded she let him in a little bit more starting to look at him wondering if everything was alright and as she shut the door she started to say “To what do I owe this…” but before she could finish she felt his hands on her face cupping them as he leaned in kissing her sweetly but with a passion that was starting to come out more and more now the more that they spent more time together. Jade pressed her lips back to his in an enduring gentle kiss placing her hands on his hips to hold him close and as he pulled away resting his forehead to hers she smiled to him “Well this is a nice wake-up call but I don’t think that is why you are here” and as she looked to him he smiled “How is it that you think you know why I am here? Maybe I saw you coming in and thought that this would be the perfect morning to surprise the woman that I cant stop thinking about” and as she poked his sides she laughed a little bit “Well I can tell you that it’s a nice surprise but with everything going on, I can only imagine that there might be a little bit more to your visit on top of a morning kiss” she said as he leaned in kissing her again “Well you are right on one account, there is something that I would like to talk to you about” and as she smiled to him as in a ‘ha I told you’ look she started to walk to the bed where he soon joined her pulling her into his lap.
Though as soon as he brought her into his lap there was another knock on the door and Jade just rolled her eyes “It’s probably Maxwell, I will just tell him to leave” and as she smiled to him he leaned in kissing her cheek before he let her go to get the door “Maxwell do you ….Drake” she said as she looked to the man that had just left her bed not even a few hours ago. As Jade just stood there in complete shock knowing that Liam was in her room, Drake was now there, she could feel the nerves inside her belly starting to inch her way up feeling as though she was going to be sick “Jade I came to talk to you…” and as he looked into the room a little bit he saw Liam sitting there at the end of the bed and when Liam saw Drake he immediately stood up. Jade could still feel the way that her body was shivering and the way that having them both there in her room was starting to be a little bit too much for her as she started to let Drake in “Liam what are you doing here?” and as they gave a bro hug to each other Liam stated “I came to talk to Lady Jade about the next step in how to get Tariq” and as Liam smiled to his best friend and Drake did the same he let out a chuckle “It seems like great minds think alike this morning” and as they both laughed Jade started to feel the way that she was starting to feel hot and the way that her room seemed to be spinning. Not knowing if it was from everything from this morning, to her run, to the way that Liam just showed up and kissed her or the way that now both men that have stolen her heart are sitting in the room with her or the fact that she was running on like 2 hours of sleep. She started to lean against the door starting to feel the room becoming even more dizzy and as she looked to them both as they were talking about Tariq, Jade started to feel it the contents of her stomach mixing with the anxiety that was creeping through her and as her mind told her body to move she couldn’t but as she did force her foot to finally move she immediately knew that she wasn’t going to make it to the bed as she collapsed to the floor right there where she stood and as her body and head hit the ground she heard both guys run to her in aide but as she looked up to them both her eyes zeroed in on Drake before everything went dark.
‘I want you to feel the way that I did when everything/everyone that I loved was ripped from me. You will never understand will you? The dark mask reappeared in her mind as she tried to fight against the restrains on her wrists. She tried to yell out but the cloth over her mouth was too tight as she fought to get free. “You see when I rip away everything from you, the next thing will be the crown and there will be no one left to stop me. I will finally have my revenge and I will finally take what should be mine. It’s a shame though that you thought one of your friends was really on your side, but I can tell you this…you should not trust anyone right now” and as the figure stopped in front of her showing her the gleaming side of the knife that was otherwise coated in the blood of her friends that now lay on the floor at her feet. She had again watched them die at the hands of whoever this was and as she fought back the tears she tried again to get her hands free only to soon feel the blade pierce right through her side and up through her stomach. “You and that bastard child of yours…will never ever see the light of day again”
Jade immediately sat up as she now realized that she was in bed and both Liam and Drake were on each side of her, the cool rag now sitting in her lap which must have been on her head, she looked around again feeling her heart racing out of control as she started to try and breath. Her body was shaking and though she was awake she did still not comprehend what was being said though she could see Drake and Liam’s lips moving as though they were trying to tell her something. She closed her eyes again but soon opened them again as she heard a voice break through and it was Drake “Hey Jade…Jade its Liam and Drake can you hear us” and as she started to look to him and then look over to Liam she nodded as she started to open her mouth to speak but was met with a raspy cough. As she took a few more deep breaths she soon reached out and took both of their hands “Thank you both…I…I don’t know what happened” and as she looked to them both she soon felt Liam lean in and kiss the top of her head and she felt Drake squeeze her hand gently “Sweetie what is bringing this on? I noticed the other day that you were really tired, but this, this worries me” Liam said as he started to look at her with sad eyes and as she looked to him and then to Drake she asked Drake “Do you think you could tell him? I…I don’t think I could without breaking down” and as she looked down to her lap Drake started to go into detail about everything that she expressed about the nightmares that she has been having though not saying anything about her parents and as Drake finished up telling Liam, Liam looked to Jade “Sweetie why didn’t you tell me that these were happening, you know you can trust me” and as he looked to her he looked upset and his eyes looked sad “Liam it’s not that I didn’t want to, believe me I did. But I just didn’t know how to. I wanted to tell you alone but I know that we wouldn’t have the chance for some time” and as she looked to him she soon felt his arms around her starting to hold her in his arms as he tried to calm her down “I know I am sorry I wish I could be more hands on babe” and as he was holding her, Drake started to get off the bed as he then started to walk towards the door “Maybe I should leave you two alone for a few moments” and as he looked to Jade he could see that there was a sadness in her eyes but Liam smiled to him and said “Thanks Drake we will only be a moment” and as Drake nodded his head he knew that he wishes that he could be the one to comfort her right now but knowing that he couldn’t do anything especially with Liam right there.
Drake then walked to the door but the moment that he opened it he stopped dead in his tracks “What the hell…” and as he looked ahead both Jade and Liam looked over seeing Drake and though she knew she shouldn’t be moving as fast as she did she got out of bed just as Liam did as they both headed over to Drake “Drake who…” and as the figure came into view Jade’s eyes got wide as she started to take a step back. Drake reached back to her arm and pulled her away from the door as Liam took a step forward “What do you want Bastien?” Liam asked as his voice was stern as he was now standing in front of Drake who was standing in front of Jade “Your king asked you a question Bastien, what the hell are you doing here?” Drake asked starting to feel the heat and the anger from that night starting to catch up to him as he stood in front of Jade for protection. Jade just stood there looking on scared that he was there to send her away again and as she wasn’t even thinking she held onto Drake’s shirt from behind hiding her face in his shirt. Bastien looked to the three standing in front of him as he started to take a breath and started to speak “Well I can say that I didn’t expect to find all of you here in one place. I guess that it will make this part easier though” and as she started to take a step Drake walked Jade a step back “Spit it out Bash…what are you doing here?” and soon Jade could feel how hard Drake’s muscles were contracting knowing that only happened what he was really angry. Bastien looked to Liam and asked if he could come in and as Liam stated that it was up to Jade she nodded that it was okay as the three of them headed to the edge of the bed where the foot couch was. Once seated Bash stood in front of them as he started to explain as to why he was really there.
“You see after your little talk with the Ki,…Constantine he ordered me to help you all with finding Tariq. Starting with finding out where he might be hiding out” and as he looked to the two men that were on either side of Jade; Liam let out a chuckle as he said “After everything that you have done…” and Drake finished “To Jade and to Liam, how do you expect us to trust you with this so called help and that you are not just here to rip her away again” and as Drake looked right to Bash catching his eyes he could see that Bash was hiding his feelings rather well as Drake stared him down “Drake if I was here to take Lady Jade away, she already would be out that door. But Lady Jade…” and as he looked to her she looked to him and their eyes caught for the first time since that night at the pub. “Lady Jade you have to know that I never ever had any bad feelings towards you and I never wanted to insist that I wanted you gone. I for one had welcomed the idea of a fresh face around the palace and I wanted Liam to be happy. But you have to remember I was ordered by Constantine to do what I did. Liam you are my king now and if you do not wish to have my help I will leave. I follow you and your words now” and as he looked to Jade he bowed his head a little bit showing a respect to her as well. Drake was sitting there next to Jade and was watching Bash like a hawk as he started to reach out taking her hand not caring at all that Liam and Bash were there as he wanted to comfort her. Liam started to look to him again and then back to Jade “It’s your call…I am leaving this up to you if you want to accept his help or not” and as she looked to Liam she could feel her heart starting to race a little bit more starting to know that she really didn’t trust him but knowing that he had more resources and access to things over what they had she knew that he could be useful in a way and as she looked to him she started to stand up slowly as her legs were still a little weak she started to walk to him a little bit as she looked right into his eyes “Bastian I want you to know that I will never forget the pain that I went through but I can forgive you, that is if you do help us close out this nonsense” and as she looked to him she could see in his eyes that there was a relief that was sitting with him as he then bowed his head “My Lady you will not regret this I promise you. I want to help you put this all behind you” Jade looked to him and nodded her head as Bash started to explain his involvement about everything from the king, to the photos, to setting up Tariq and Jade and then went on to explain that he found out “Tariq didn’t go home, he traveled around and the last stop that he made was in Los Angeles” and as Jade listened in she questioned “Is he American?” and as Bash shook his head he explained that Tariq found L.A to be intriguing and had always mentioned going there but that now with him being there it was going to make it harder to find him. That he had no family and believed that he had more coats than even friends.
As Jade was listening she started to remember how Tariq talked about his clothing and as she realized something she sat up straighter and said “That’s it!” and as Drake and Liam both looked at her questioningly Jade explained “You guys, Tariq is on the run, he feels ashamed embarrassed, and Bash you just said that he has more coats than friends…what do people do when they are down and out and feel like they have nowhere to go, but want to feel happy again” and as she looked to the three men she realized that it was not getting through to them so she laughed and said “Tariq is therapy shopping. He has a fondness of the high life, designer coats and shoes and he is now traveling in the fashion capital of the states. So the only logical thing that he is thinking is shopping at designer stores, it’s where he can feel comfortable” and as the guys finally caught on to what Jade was meaning Bash soon agreed that he would start to look into the stores of L.A and seeing if they can find anything. Liam then looked to Bash and stated “Look I know that you are a pro, but if I know anything about this, there is one person that we need right now…” and as he looked to Jade they both said “Maxwell” at the same time. Bash looked to them both as though they had lost their minds as he stated “You want me to enlist Maxwell Beaumont to help handle a delicate investigation such as this” and as Jade nodded her head Drake agreed and stated “He does know fashion, and leave it to Maxwell and he can get almost anyone to talk” and as Jade smiled to Drake seeing that he was agreeing with her and Liam it made her feel so happy knowing that she had his support still through everything. “I mean you have to give him some credit Bash…he helped find out that it was you behind the photos, and he did help Tariq in N.Y. find that dress coat that he is obsessed with, our best chance to try and track him knowing what we do now…is Maxwell” Drake said as he looked right to Bash and though it still hurt him to know that he was against the woman that he is deeply falling for he knows that right now they need him and as Drake stood up he walked over to Bash “You have to let him try…for Jade” and as they looked at each other Bash nodded his head and agreed to letting Maxwell help. Bash looked to Jade and thanked her again for allowing him to help telling her that he would enlist Maxwell at once and Liam looked to them all standing as Jade did as well and stated “Well now that its settled I know that Lady Jade and I are expected to be at the tea ceremony today…where its part two with Hana’s family” and as Jade looked to him and gave him a smile she soon looked to Drake who gave her a little smile back.
As Bash went to leave and as he opened the door he came face to face with Maxwell who, when he looked right to Bash looked like he has seen a ghost Maxwell looked around to Drake, Liam and Jade and with a look in his eyes Liam nodded as Bash told Maxwell that he was coming with him and that they have business and though Maxwell looked a little nervous Drake spoke up and said “Don’t worry he is working with us now” and as those two left Drake turned to Liam and Jade and said “I better head out. I will catch up with you two later” and as he looked to Jade she could feel her heart breaking knowing that look on his face that he wanted to stay with her but he still thought that Liam should be getting more time with her. Jade walked to Drake and wrapped her arms around him “Thank you Drake for everything” though as she said that to him she kissed his shoulder and whispered low enough to where Liam couldn’t hear her but Drake could “Please tell me I will see you soon” and as he hugged her back and said “You’re welcome” he then whispered to her “Of course you will” and as they pulled apart Liam then embraced Drake into a bro hug and thanked him as well for all the help and watching over Jade. Though as Drake left he looked back at Jade one more time giving her a little smile before shutting the door behind him walking away from the girl that he wants more than anything and leaving her with his best friend that is falling head over heels for her.
As Jade stood there and started to then walk to the window to look out she soon felt a strong pair of arms around her waist from behind “Well now that we are alone” Liam stated as he started to lean in kissing her cheek from behind and kissing the side of her neck tenderly she let her head fall to the side a little bit to give him more access as she placed her hands on his arms around her waist. She knew that she loved Drake’s kisses but knew that she still had to give Liam some of her time until she finally did decide what/who she wanted and as she leaned back to him she asked “What’s going on Liam, is everything alright? Is your dad doing alright?” and as he held her more to him looking out the window and still cuddling her from behind he stated that his dad was doing alright and the last time that he checked he was resting up and finally listening to Regina and the doctors on getting rest but then he confessed that he wasn’t there to just talk about his dad and the investigation “You know I did come here to see you but I also came because I wanted to give you something” and as he started to reach into his pocket and Jade started to turn he stopped her and said “No, no it’s a surprise” and as she lifted an eyebrow to him he asked her to close her eyes and so she did and soon felt something cool sliding around her wrist. Though as soon as it was on Liam said “Wow it looks even better on you then it did when I picked it up” and he soon leaned in kissing her cheek again telling her to open her eyes. Jade did as she was told and when she did she brought her wrist up and fitting just perfectly was a pearl bracelet, cased in real pearls and between each pearl was a diamond that glittered in the light from outside.
“Oh Liam, this is so gorgeous, but you know that you didn’t have to do this” and as she looked to him he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers gently as he then said “I know I didn’t have too but that day at the grotto and seeing that pearl again it gave me inspiration to make this for you” and as Jade looked at it she smiled “Is that pearl on here too?” and as she smiled to him admiring the gift again he said “Sadly no, I am saving that one for…another occasion to be honest” and as she started to turn in his arms he started to hold her close “Thank you Liam so much. I will treasure it forever” and as she smiled to him she couldn’t help it as she started to lean up pressing her lips to his in a sensual sweet kiss that lasted for a mere few moments but left her weak in the knees. Though as he started to rest his forehead to hers he took in a breath “I suppose I should let you go so you can get ready, we wouldn’t want you to be late” and as he looked to her again not pulling away just yet she gave him a pouty face as he said “Don’t you worry, this is going to be over soon, and we will see each other again soon as well” and as he leaned in kissing her one more time he then took his leave, leaving her to get ready for the day ahead.
As Liam left and Jade started to look over her clothing options she couldn’t help think about why Drake was really there and as she plopped onto her bed she pulled her phone out and sent him a text “Hey, when you come to my room, what was going on? Did you need to talk to me about something?” and right as she hit send she saw the three little dots appear that he was texting back already and as she read “Yeah, I just …well” and then there was nothing but a knock on her door. She looked to her phone and then back to the door starting to get up walking to it and the moment that she opened it she saw Drake standing there “Well that didn’t…” and he didn’t even let her finish as he pushed himself into the room, using his foot to shut the door, and pulled her right to him crashing his lips down to her in a heated, wanting, desiring kiss that she could feel through her entire body just surging like fire as she wrapped her arms around his neck holding him to her feeling all of him against her. Though as he broke the kiss leaving them both breathless he rested his forehead to hers “Well hello to you too” she said giving him a smile and though she saw something in his eyes she knew that now was not the time to joke around and as she looked to him she asked “Drake, what…what is it?” and as she looked to him her eyes catching his he took a deep breath “When… when I saw Bash heading down the hall to your room…my mind went back to that night that he ripped you from me, and I just…I panicked and so I took the short cut to your room because I was so worried that he was going to be ripping you from me again. I had to get to you, this way this time if he was coming to take you again I could have stopped him” and as he looked to her she could see the worry that was plastered all over his eyes and his face and feel the tension in his body as he held her close.
Jade could feel the tension in his body as she ran her hands down his back and to his sides and as she looked up into his eyes she could see the sadness that was just radiating through him “I have to be honest I was scared too that he was coming to start issues again but I knew that with you and Liam there that he wouldn’t have been able to get away with it as easily” and as she cuddled up to him she could feel the hold that he had on her start to tighten a little bit as she started to walk them back towards the bed and the moment that they got there he sat down pulling her into his lap “Are you sure that you want to trust him leading the investigation?” Drake asked starting to run his hand up and down her back as he leaned in kissing her shoulder “Sadly, I think that we are going to have too allow him to help as he had the contacts that we don’t have” and as she leaned into him he slowly reached in turning her face to his “I don’t know what I would do if I lost you again. Having you ripped away the first time was the hardest moment that I think that I have had to face this whole time that you have been back with us” and as he leaned in he claimed her lips yet again with his as she slowly and tenderly kissed him back. The instant that she felt his arms wrap around her she started to lean them back onto the bed and that is where they laid for about another half hour just completely in each other’s arms. Though as he held her there he couldn’t help but think about if she had been taken away again that this time he would be following her, knowing that he wouldn’t be able to let her go and as he broke the kiss for a moment she looked to him as if something was wrong and as he looked to her she could see that his eyes were glazed over a little bit “Drake, what is it?” and as she asked him he leaned to her kissing her again before saying “Morgan…if you are ever ripped away again, you better know that this time I am going to go after you. There is no way that I would ever, ever leave you to be alone again” and as she smiled to him she answered his statement by kissing him tenderly running her fingers gently along his jawline.
“Drake, there are two things that I know for sure. One, I am not going to be pulled away again that easily and two, it doesn’t have to be Bastien taking me away for me to know that you would be with me because right here right now…that’s what I want you to do because there is something that I need to tell you” and as she looked to him and he looked right back questioningly “Drake I have been giving it a lot of thought and I realize now through everything that I…” but before she could finish they both heard a knock on the door and Hana’s voice yelling out for her. Drake looked to her to see if she would continue as she let out a sigh and said “To be continued” and as they both sat up Drake gave her another tender kiss as they both got up walking to the door, though right before opening it Drake said that he would be back that night if she wanted to talk and as she nodded she soon opened the door for Hana and as Drake walked out Hana just looked to him smiled and started to head into the room. “I hope I am not interrupting anything” and as Drake shook his head he said “I will see you ladies later” as he looked to Jade giving her a slight smile, though as he walked away he couldn’t help think about what it was that Jade was about to tell him.
As he headed down the hall he soon came face to face with Madeleine “So I see that you are still spending time with Jade? I hope that you are taking in the wise words that I told you before. You don’t have much time left Drake. I just hope that you know what you are doing…” and as she went to continue Drake took a step to her “Be careful Drake you and I both know that I could make your life a living hell” and as she looked to him he looked right back to her not backing down for a moment “You want to know something Madeleine? You are by far the most evil, conniving little bitch that I have ever met and I have met a lot of nobles. You better know that I do not intend on fulfilling your desires and getting Jade to leave, she belongs here…with or without Liam and that will be up to Liam and Jade to decide that. Cause as you know, the clock is ticking and soon Morgan is going to be free of everything. So soon your threat will mean nothing, just as it means nothing to me right now. So you can take your threats and shove them straight up that high class ass of yours, cause from where I am standing you aren’t going to do shit” and as he said that Madeleine looked to him and said “Strong words from a lower commoner…just wait Drake…you haven’t seen anything yet” and as she looked to him and started to saunter away Drake could feel his heart starting to race and the anger running through him as he knew that he had to get to Liam.
Back in Jade’s room Hana was explaining to her that she had a special traditional dress made for her for the tea party that was going to be happening and as Jade was listening to her she couldn’t help but think about how she almost came clean to Drake about how she was feeling and what she felt for him, that she was so close to telling him her decision and as Hana looked to Jade placing a hand on her shoulder she asked “Jade… what’s going on in the head of yours?” as she could tell that Jade was not all there at the moment and as she looked to Hana she had tears in her eyes “Hana…I almost told Drake something today…and I am scared that now I won’t have another chance” and as she looked to Hana she couldn’t help but let the tears go quickly feeling Hana pulling her into a hug “Oh Jade, I know that this hasn’t been easy for you but I know that in the end you are going to choose what your heart wants…no matter who it is” and as she held Jade she could feel Jade nod her head as she started to then look to her “Let’s take today to relax, I mean you are so close to finding Tariq and then you can start to make a decision” and as Jade agreed they headed down to the boutique and started to get ready.
Jade was in a red lace dress that literally looked like something from Chinese couture. The breast and the midriff were see through lace and the rest of the dress was a silk fabric and was sleeveless and as she walked out of the dressing room Hana gave her a cheer seeing the creation that she had made up for her. “It seems like so many people are in a gift giving mood today” and as she smiled a little bit Hana looked at her as if she was going to ask a question though before she could Jade explained the bracelet and showed her the pearl bracelet that Liam had gifted her just before she joined her and as she looked to Hana she expressed that she felt bad that she had nothing to give to him in return and that is when Hana looked to Jade as though she had a light bulb go off in her mind “I have the perfect idea. There is a little jewelers right down the road and we have just enough time to head over there if you wanted to look at something for him” and as Jade agreed they began heading over towards the store. Once in there Jade found herself looking around at so many different things and as they both looked around Jade expressed that she wanted to get something for her too for the dress and as Hana declared that her friendship was enough they soon found the perfect item for Liam, jade colored cufflinks and as Hana explained that they could be engraved Jade decided that she would get these for Liam and engrave the Cordonian crest on them. After a successful purchase Jade and Hana walked back out towards the gardens where the rest of the royal court was going to be meeting. But before they got there Hana expressed that she was scared, knowing that the two suitors, Rashad and Neville were going to be there she stated that she knew that she didn’t want either of them but knew that he father was not going to be pleased. But as they started to head towards the garden a little bit more Jade stopped her, took her hands and said “I know that you don’t want them and I know that you are worried about your father, but let’s take today to just enjoy…don’t worry about what your father thinks and don’t let anything get to you. You know what your heart wants, and it’s not like Maxwell is a bad guy” and as Hana smiled to her knowing that Jade was right they both headed into the garden to try to enjoy the rest of the afternoon.
Though as they both walked into the beautifully decorated gardens Hana soon saw that both Rashad and Neville were talking with her father who immediately waved her over “Wish me luck” she said as she hugged Jade and started to walk away. Jade watched on to make sure that things were going to be alright and knowing that she wanted to be right there for her best friend if she needed to be. Though as she stood there she soon heard a cough from behind her “Lady Jade you are blocking the entrance” and as Jade started to turn she saw Madeleine holding onto Liam’s arm and as she looked to Madeleine and then to Liam she bowed her head “Good afternoon your majesties” she stated as she then looked to Liam who gave her a subtle wink as he noticed that she was wearing the bracelet that he had gifted her.
“I believe what Madeleine is trying to say is that it’s a pleasure to see you again Lady Jade” Liam stated as he started to give her that million dollar smile as he could feel Madeleine’s grip on his arm tighten a little bit but that didn’t detour him from complementing her dress “Well thank you Liam but all credit must go to Hana…she made the dress for me” and as she smiled to him they soon heard Adelaide approaching and Jade took this moment to greet Adelaide “Adelaide it’s an absolute pleasure to see you again” Jade stated as she started to bow towards Madeleine’s mother and as she stood up again she could see the heat that was on Madeleines face. “Well I do believe that it is quite a pleasure to see you as well Lady Jade. I hope that you are doing well” and as Jade went to answer Madeleine interrupted as she stated the fact that they had to get inside to greet the other guests. Though as she spoke her eyes never left Jade’s as Jade just smiled back to her “I won’t keep you three any longer. Have a great afternoon” and as she smiled to them she caught Liam’s eyes giving him a smile and a look that she hoped that he would understand that she wishes that she could steal him for a few moments. Though as she started to walk back towards the other nobles she soon heard Drake yell for her to come over to the table where she found the open seat next to Drake and sitting right across was Olivia. “So I see that Maddy sent you over to be with the table of exiles huh” and as she started to chuckle a little bit Jade nodded her head “Yeah she doesn’t seem to like me very much” and as they all kind of chuckled and soon Jade looked to Olivia “You will like sitting here with us, we are your friends you know you can admit it” and as Olivia looked to her raising her eye browns she laughed and said “Well I do find your company more bearable than most” and as she looked to Jade she gave her a wink and that was the hint that Olivia was agreeing about the friends issue though not letting it be present in conversation for all to hear.
As they all soon settled into a little bit of conversation Drake looked over seeing Maxwell walking around looking completely not Maxwell as he looked to be completely grumpy as he was looking down to the ground as he walked “Hey Grumpy come over here” and as he looked up Jade could see his eyes dart over right to where Hana was sitting with her father and the two suitors and as he plopped down in the chair Jade could see the look in his eyes that he didn’t want to be there at all and as Olivia looked to him she stated “So what has little Beaumont all fired up” and as Maxwell let out a sigh he looked over and said “Don’t worry about it…I have to go” and as Jade looked to Maxwell she knew exactly what he was going to do as she reached out taking his arm and pushing him back into the chair as she said “Sit back down before a…you do something stupid and b…before I handcuff you to the chair” and as Maxwell looked to her his eyes sad he let out a deep sigh and shrugged his shoulders in defeat. “Where have you been anyways Maxwell” Drake asked as Maxwell finally looked to be calming down “Just been working on finding Tariq. He is still in L.A but really hiding his whereabouts to a tee. There hasn’t been one shop yet that can even acknowledge seeing someone like him. But believe me I have been leaving some very…interesting messages…some might even consider them to be threats” and as he looked to his tea he downed it in once giant gulp slamming the cup back down which made all three of them jump “Hey Maxwell what’s going on with you? You are never this riled up about anything…unless you lost a dance off…which I don’t think has ever happened” Drake stated starting to look at Maxwell curiously. Maxwell looked to Jade as if asking for permission and as she looked to Drake and Olivia she nodded her head as he then took a deep breath and started to explain “I want to be with Hana, but I know that there is absolutely no way that her father is going to allow that to happen. So I just realized today that I am going to have to get used to the fact that I am not going to be able to be with her” and as he looked to his lap Jade reached over and started to place her hand on his shoulder but before she could say anything Drake spoke up “Let me tell you something Maxwell…I have been in your shoes. Wanting a woman so badly that it tears you apart when you realize that you can’t give her the galaxy that she deserves. Knowing that you may never be the right choice for her, and even though you know letting her go would be for her best interest, you have to remember to just take all the time that you can with her…and remind her every day” and as he took a moments pause he soon looked to Jade and said “Remind her everyday…even if she doesn’t feel the same way back…that you are there for her, that you will fight for her if need be and that her heart is protected no matter what is thrown her way” and as he finished up he was looking directly at Jade and Jade could feel the heat on her cheeks starting to increase as she listened to his words that he was saying. As Jade listened to what Drake was saying she knew that he was indirectly saying it to her and as she started to think about it the more that her heart started to break knowing that in the end she might choose Liam.
Maxwell looked to Drake as he stated “You’re right, I just wish that I could whisk her away from her parents grasp and let her see that I can be just as good as any other noble but I guess we will just have to see what happens” and as he took a drink of a new tea that was set down he started to lean back in his chair a little bit to ponder everything. “So Morgan, how are you holding up knowing that you are so close to being at the end of all this” Drake said taking another sip of his tea looking right at her and as Jade looked up she could see the smile on his lips as she knew that he would soon find out what she has chosen and as she smiled to him she said “I just want him to face what he did to me and for him to apologize and make this all go away” and as she looked over to him he nodded his head “Best believe that he deserves whatever is coming to him, especially the beat down that I personally want to give him after what he did to you that night and then running like a chicken shit, even though we know he was told to leave it doesn’t make it right” and as he looked to her she reached over placing her hand on his knee “Thank you Drake but I don’t need you getting into trouble over me. I would feel so guilty if this all came to an end and you ended up in trouble” and as he reached down taking her hand under the table and away from the eyes of others he said “Morgan, it would be worth it all in the long run” and as they shared another moment looking to each other Jade soon heard Hana and her father talking rather heatedly just a few feet away and as she excused herself she found herself walking over towards Hana, but as she was walking Adelaide soon pulled her to the side and wished her to be having fun but mentions missing a good drink which gave Jade an idea for later. But as she nicely excused herself she finally reached Hana and her father.
“Why would you let him walk away? You should be spending anytime that you can get with Lord Neville Hana” and as she looked to Hana who looked to her father she heard her say “He wanted to go talk to Liam father, I thought that it would be the polite thing to do” but before she could finish her father interrupted her “Then you could have gone with him. Hana, do you realize that all those classes and moments of training are now wasted just because you wanted to be polite? This is an opportunity, the one that you have been waiting for. Lord Neville already asked for permission to court you, this could be a moment to lead to a proposal and you just threw it away” and as Jade looked on seeing the look in Hana’s eyes become sad but her posture showed anger she took another step towards them “I hope that I am not interrupting anything” and as she started to look to Hana and then her father she saw Xinghai start to say something but Hana quickly jumped in and said “Not at all please do sit” and as Jade took the invitation her father didn’t seem too pleased “Like I said you should be over there talking to him Hana” and as Hana seemed to finally have enough she blurted out “Father I just talked to him for the last ten minutes, it was not my fault that he wanted to be excused to talk to someone else” and as Xinghai looked to his daughter he shook his head “You should have a proper suitor Hana, letting him walk away from you like that is probably pushing you back to not finding someone that will be best for what we have been working towards” and as Jade could see the pain on Hana’s face she couldn’t hold back anymore.
“With all due respect Mr. Lee, I don’t believe that Lord Neville is the right one for Hana” Jade mentioned as she started to look up seeing both sets of eyes staring right back at her. “Hana, why don’t you tell your dad what you have told me” and as she looked to Hana, Hana took a deep breath, turned to her father and said “Father, I know how much we have worked to find me a perfect suitor but I have to be honest not only with you but with my heart. I am not interested in Lord Neville” and as she started to speak her father tried to interrupt but she immediately cut him off “I want to be with someone else” and as she looked to Xinghai who was looking madder than before he said “Why would you want to throw away someone that would be perfect for you Hana” and as she looked down she took another deep breath and said “He may be great with business but he is pretentious, selfish and very, very boring. I don’t care about him at all father as my heart feels for someone else” and as she continued to hold her stand Jade looked on giving Hana the support that she needed “You cannot base everything on love and romance Hana, you need to have support as well. Can you not see that he would be the support that you would need to get where you want to be?” and before Hana could say anything, Jade held her hand up interjecting “Mr. Lee I respect you deeply but you and Hana want different things. Sure Neville could be the support that you think she needs but Hana wants more than that. She wants a real love, someone that can be everything and more to her. I believe that you need to hear her out” and as she looked to him, he took this chance and began degrading Jade and her actions being the reasoning behind Hana’s new choices and new path “How could I ever support her when I know that you are behind this. Maybe I was wrong about you Lady Jade” but before he could continue Hana yelled out “Father the is enough!” and as both Jade and Xinghai looked to her in shock she continued “You…you have absolutely no right to talk to her like that or to even begin to blame her for any of this. This is my life and I am going to choose what I want from it. You have no idea how hard court has been for me, but Jade…she is the only one that has been there through it all for me right by my side. She is remarkable and been my best friend through all of this. She has never left my side and accepted me when others did not. She made me realize in my heart what I want…and that…” and as Hana looked to Jade and then to her father she said with tears in her eyes “What I want…is Maxwell Beaumont”
Xinghai and Jade both looked to Hana with the shock still in their eyes but as Jade really took in what Hana just declared she couldn’t do anything but smile for her best friend “Maxwell is the one I want, and the one I am going to go for, wither you like it or not. I am going with my heart, and not just with what protocol you and mother want” and as she stood up she saw Maxwell just starting to come around to the table and without missing a beat in her step she walked right up to Maxwell in front of anyone that had dared to look over, wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. Jade smiled as she looked onto Hana and Maxwell and as Xinghai excused himself Jade did as well knowing that she felt good to be a witness to Hana standing up to her father and as she headed back to the table she looked back seeing Hana and Maxwell in a tender embrace right by the arch.
As Jade continued to walk towards the table she soon felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to see Drake “What…what just happened?” he asked as he started to look at Jade right in the eyes and as Jade looked back over to Hana and Maxwell she smiled and said “Hana and her dad had an argument about her future, and she chose her heart” and as Drake looked over and saw Hana and Maxwell he said “Well I will be damned she finally chose her own path in life” and as he looked back to Jade he said “Soon you will be making that choice huh Morgan” and as she looked back to him she looked right to his eyes and for a moment she was so tempted to tell him right then and there that she believed that she knew what she wanted to do, and the temptation to just kiss him right there in front of everyone was creeping up and as she smiled to him she said “Yes I will be…and I can’t wait to finally get this behind me to focus on my heart” though as Drake went to say something they soon saw everyone starting to get up to leave and as he sighed he said “Looks like everyone is starting to head out. Will I get to see you later” and as she looked to him she could see the determination and the hope in his eyes and as she gave him a wink she said “You just might” and as she took her hand giving it a light squeeze he soon headed up to Liam to say goodbye for now and as Jade watched them join in a brotherly hug she felt the pain shoot through her body knowing that she was going to be breaking one of their hearts.
Though as the line to formally sendoff was starting to get smaller Jade finally stepped up to Liam giving him a smile as she stood in front of him “Lady Jade, I hope that you enjoyed your Shanghai visit” and as she smiled to him a little bit more she nodded her head and said “I did and thank you for being a gracious host, and I know you don’t have a lot of time but I got you something” and as she started to reach into her satchel he stated “You know that your presence is the most amazing gift that you could give me” and as she looked to him she said “Well I thought that you could use something a little bit more….you” and as she got the little box out she handed it to him. “It’s not much but I knew that they were perfect for you” and as Liam opened the box he immediately saw the cufflinks that she had gotten for him earlier that day “Jade these are incredible. Is that the Cordonian crest?” and as he started to examine them a little bit more she said “It is…if I know something about you it’s your deep love for your country, and I thought the color would remind you of our time together, no matter what happens” and as she looked to him he started to take off his diamond cufflinks and immediately replacing them with her gift “Jade this is incredible, thank you so much but I don’t deserve them” and as Jade just laughed she said “I know that with you being King, you probably have thousands of them but I thought they would be a nice touch” and as he finished getting them on he smiled to her “I will wear these all the time. It will show that I will always have you with me” and as she smiled up to him he explained that he wanted to return the favor and invited her to meet him at the other side of the garden for a boat ride and as she agreed she soon headed over there, texting Maxwell that she would be back to the hotel in a little bit. Though as she sat on a rock waiting she started to think about how happy she was to be getting so close to the end of all this and as she thought about it and how her life has changed she didn’t realize that almost a half hour had gone by and there was no sign of Liam, but knowing that he probably got caught up she continued to wait, wait, wait and wait some more until finally she looked to her phone and saw that it had been about an hour and a half and as she looked around she realized that she was all alone she decided that she would just head back to the hotel. But as she got up she soon felt a wave of dizziness hit her like a ton of bricks and as she tried to stabilize herself on a tree but soon felt as though her world was spinning all around.
Looking around she found that there was absolutely no one around and as she tried to take another step instantly feeling week she started to feel her head pounding in a way that was so loud in her ears as she gripped her head in pain, starting to try and take deep breathes and regain her balance it was too much and she soon fell to the grass onto her hands and knees and as she looked up to yell out she found that her voice was not carrying as it should. Though as she stayed there she soon felt as though she was burning up feeling extremely hot as she tried to crawl to the rock that was right there but as she reached up to it she felt her legs giving out on her and her arms becoming week. She instantly started to feel exhausted and soon her eyelids began to close but as she mustered up the rest of her strength she reached for her phone pulling it out and as she looked at the phone, the numbers were dancing around in her head as she pressed and held the number 2 on her keypad but before the phone even connected she felt her heart beat increase and soon the world around her just went black.
What seemed like only a few moments was actually almost six hours later, as Jade finally started to open her eyes and as she started to look around she realized that she was in a hospital bed in Shanghai and as she started to look around she saw Drake sitting in the chair right next to her bed leaning over resting his head on her blankets. Though she still felt extremely weak and tired she started to lift her hand up and ran it through his hair, and in an instant Drake popped his head up “Morgan, you’re…you’re awake! Are…are you okay? Do you need anything? I can get the doctor” and as he looked to her with fear in his eyes she shook her head “What…what happened” and as she looked to him her voice just above a whisper he took her hand not caring at all as he looked to her he explained “You passed out…you somehow called me and when I answered I didn’t hear anything but water in the background. I yelled for your name about ten times before I finally heard a woman answer me and told me that she just found you on the grass by the lake. I texted Liam and told him that something was wrong but I didn’t hear back from him so I immediately just ran back over to where the tea party was held and found you surrounded by the staff as they had you laying on a blanket on the ground. I saw you laying there and your breathing was so shallow I…” and as he started to look at her she could see the glaze that was over his eyes as they threatened to shed tears “God Morgan seeing you laying there I was so scared, and when the medics got there they said your pulse was really weak and that they wanted to get you here, so I picked you up, got you into the ambulance and rode with you in my arms all the way here. The doctor thinks that its blood sugar or pressure related but they won’t know for sure until your tests come back” and as he looked to her he couldn’t hold it back anymore as a single tear fell from his eyes. “Morgan I…” and as he looked to her she looked to him giving his hand a squeeze knowing that she was still too weak to talk much and as she nodded her head he didn’t hesitate a moment before leaning in and kissing her right there in the hospital room, even as the oxygen piece was in her nose he didn’t care at that moment and as he rested his forehead to hers he looked her right in the eyes “I am not leaving your side baby…I just…god I didn’t know what to think. With everything that you have been going through with the dreams, no sleep, the headaches…I thought that this was going to end badly, and I just thought to myself that I can’t lose you. Not when we are this close” and as he looked to her he then said “Once your heart rate was back to normal I started to calm down a little bit but until then I was right there. I even threatened the doctor that if anything happened to you he would be having to deal with my fists” and as she tried to laugh she couldn’t from being so weak. Though as she looked up to him she took her little strength that she did have and leaned up kissing him just so softly not worrying at all about being caught and as she looked to him she then looked over to the water glass on the table. Taking the hint he reached over to it for her and helped her get some water.
Once her throat was not as dry she started to talk slowly “Where…where is everybody” and as she looked to him he smiled and said “Well last I saw, Hana and Maxwell were in the waiting room, Olivia even showed up, Bertrand is on his way and well Liam said that he would be here as soon as possible” and as Jade heard those words she started to think about how this is how it would be to be with Liam, or as his girl but not his wife, that he would be having to “steal” time to be with her and as she thought about it she started thinking about if that was the life that she wanted. Though she knew that she had huge feelings for Liam she knew that if she couldn’t clear her name it would be as though she might never see him and as she thought about this her heart monitor started beeping faster and louder but within a moment they calmed down as she felt Drake’s lips on her forehead and his hand stroking her hand. Jade looked to Drake in a thanking look that he could read instantly “You don’t have to thank me Morgan, I told you over and over again that I am going to be right here, I am not going to leave your side no matter what happens” and just as he went to lean in again he heard a coughing noise from the doorway and as he pulled back he saw the Doctor walking in “Good Morning sleepy head I am doctor Ramsey, it looks like you had a bit of an episode today huh” and as Jade looked at him and nodded her head she soon asked “What…what’s going on with me?” and as she looked to him he then looked over to Drake as though asking if he can be in the room and as she looked to him she said “Anything that you say to me, I want him here” and as she looked over to Drake who was still at her side the doctor nodded his head and continued.
“From the tests that we ran there were a few things that we were looking at, the first thing was your blood pressure, it was on the high side, which can mean your stress levels are high or something could be going on with your heart but when we ran the EKG that test came back fine so we know that we want to have you not be as stressed as you seem to be lately” and as he started to put notes in her chart Jade looked to him and stated that she would try to take it easy and he continued “Your blood tests all came back normal so we are not concerned there but we did notice that you did have some internal bleeding. We are not sure if this is something that has been happening for some time or if it’s something from when you fell but I have to ask have you been having any episodes of headaches or trouble sleeping as of lately?” and as he looked to Jade and Jade looked right to Drake she knew that she had to be honest, even if it was something that she really hadn’t shared with many people before “I do suffer from Chronic migraines, it started after I lost my parents, after the accident I was in shortly after they died, I thought it would be okay to drive home one night after drinking and I ended up crashing my car into a tree, the medics said that I was lucky for the way the airbag hit me it snapped my head back. Ever since then I suffer from them occasionally and as of recent they have been happening a little more than normal, and I have been having trouble sleeping but that’s because I have been having really messed up dreams and so I am sometimes scared to sleep” and as she looked to Dr. Ramsey she started to feel the tears starting to fall as she looked at him again “Is there something else that is going on?” and as Dr. Ramsey looked over her chart he closed it and looked to her “I didn’t want to say anything just yet but we believe that the bleeding could be on your brain, the only way that we will know for sure is if you let us run a CT scan but from where I am standing it doesn’t seem to be too severe to where you would need surgery but we could give you some medication that could aid in healing it if there is bleeding” and as Jade took in the words that he was saying she couldn’t help but lean into Drake’s arms starting to cry right into his shirt. “I will be honest with you though that if it comes back that you do have bleeding on the brain it could lead to serious complications later if left untreated. But that is all we know for now. So you are more than welcome to stay here and get the CT done here or go without it for a little bit longer but I highly recommend that you do it sooner rather than later.”
Jade looked to Drake and then to the doctor with the tears falling from her eyes “How long would I have to stay if I do the test” and as she looked to Drake he leaned in kissing her tears away “Not long at all” Dr. Ramsey stated “We would do the test here and then you would have the results in a few days but you don’t need to stay here and wait for them” and as he went over a few things that they could do and a few things that he was going to prescribe to her she soon agreed to the test. As Dr. Ramsey walked out leaving Jade and Drake alone she looked to him and asked “Do you think you could get Hana and Maxwell and if Liam is out there now…I would like to tell them” and as he looked to her he said with tears in his eyes “Babe why don’t you wait until you know for sure, or at least relax and do the test and then we can bring Hana and Maxwell in, Liam is still not here” and as she looked to him again she nodded her head slowly starting to rest her head on his shoulder as he held her. They stayed like this for a few moments longer before a nurse came in with a wheelchair to take her to the CT scan. Drake walked right next to her and didn’t leave her side even as they got to the changing room because she had to strip down from out of the outfit that she was in Drake stayed with and helped her with the few things that he could while still respecting her in every way and as he walked her towards the room he pulled her to him “I will be right here when you are done” and as she looked to him and then looked to the room that she was going to be in with the machine she started to wonder if there was a way that he could be with her knowing that she hated small places and seeing how small the machine would be around the upper half of her body made her start to panic on the inside “Do you think they would let you stay in there with me or somehow hear your voice as I am in there” and as he looked to her he soon stopped a technician that was walking and asked if there was something that could be done and she agreed to let him come in the side room with her and the other techs and that he would be able to talk to her through the machine. Once Jade was finally calmed down and Drake walked in with her he helped her lay down on the table and held her hand until she was being pushed into the machine.
As she slid into the machine she soon heard his voice ring out in the machine “Hey Morgan I am here with you…you are going to be perfectly fine” and as the machine started to inch her further into the tubing where her head was going to be scanned she started to grip at her shirt and soon heard him say “Morgan just think about how our first night was, remember when you took me to the lake side in New York, we talked forever. God I didn’t want that night to end, you were so incredible and I never thought that I would be lucky enough to have you in my life again” and as the machine started to run she could still hear him but it was a struggle but she soon started to focus on just what he was saying “I remember the first time that I saw you, I couldn’t believe that you were actually taking time out to talk to someone like me, and I know through everything that we have been through that we can continue to get through anything and everything together” As Jade heard him talking to her through the speakers that were in the machine she began to calm down and closed her eyes trying to remember the first time that they were together and the thoughts that flooded her mind made her realize just how much she realized that he may be the one for here. Before she knew it she was told that the scan was done and soon she was being pulled out of the machine and literally right into the arms of Drake. Hugging him completely calmed her down as she started to stand and walk with him and started to get dressed to leave though as she was walking out with him he stopped her in the middle of the hall cupping her face to make her look at him “Jade I want you to know something, no matter what this is that is going on, you are going to always have me on your side. You are never going to have to go a day feeling alone or that you have no one to lean on because I am always going to be there for you” and as she looked to him and saw that look in his eyes she leaned in kissing him just tenderly before they started heading back towards her room so she could rest. Drake did inform her that he did text Maxwell and Hana to head back and that she would talk to them soon.
After leaving the hospital and back in her room, Drake got her to be in something a little bit more comfortable and tucked into bed telling her that if she needed anything, anything at all to text him. Though she did want him to stay with her she knew that she needed to get rest and as he left the room she rolled over onto her side knowing that she had to get some rest. Though what felt like forever she soon looked over to the clock reading that it had only been about 30 minutes since she had laid down and as she started to roll over to her back she saw her phone light up with a text message. Rolling over slowly she saw a message from Drake again telling her that he was there for her, and then seeing another message from Hana and Maxwell to text them as soon as she woke up but soon her phone pinged with another message “Jade I just found out what happened from Drake, if you are up for visitors I would love to come see you. I need to talk to you about what happened to why I didn’t make it. Please let me come see you” and as she read the words from Liam she felt her heart strings pulling a little bit knowing that she was a little bit disappointed but knowing that she did want to hear what he had to say. As she looked to the screen again she slowly typed back to him “Sure, you can come over if you would like too” and not even a few moments later there was a knock on her door and as she got up and walked slowly to the door knowing that she was still a little weak she opened the door taking a deep breath and coming face to face with Liam. He didn’t even hesitate as he walked in shutting the door and soon wrapping his arms around her so gently knowing what he already knew “I am so sorry Jade. I am so sorry that I wasn’t there, if I would have been there, I could have…god I am so sorry” and as she hugged him back weakly she whispered to him “It’s okay. I am going to be alright, I hope anyways” and as he pulled away from her he looked to her eyes leaning in and kissing her forehead as he started to walk her back to the bed. Once they reached the bed he let her sit on the edge as he knelt down in front of her taking her tiny hands in his.
Liam looked up to her and she could see it in his eyes that he felt guilty and looked sadder than she had ever seen him “Jade I want you to know how sorry I am that I wasn’t there. I didn’t mean to get caught up in the court talks, and then Madeleine had me meeting with another leader here in Shanghai and by the time that it was done I didn’t know if you wanted to see me. I know that I should have reached out and told you but I just couldn’t get away. When Drake told me what happened…I realized if I would have been there this maybe wouldn’t have happened” and as he started to look at her he felt his heart breaking “When Drake told me that you had blacked out and you were in the hospital I wanted to come to you right away but I knew that wouldn’t have been safe for you. I was so scared when he told me what happened and I just wanted to be there for you so badly” and as he was looking at her Jade was taking in his words and she could tell that he was being sincere in his words. “I am hoping that you can forgive me for not being there again for you. I know that I have been messing up lately and I just hope with everything that you can forgive me and give me another chance” and as she looked to him she could see that his baby blues were completely glossed over. “Liam, you don’t have to apologize, this could have happened anywhere, with anyone. I was scared when it was happening but it could have been anytime. You had no hand in causing this to happen” and though she knows that she is lying as she knew that she was worrying when he didn’t show she knew that she couldn’t tell him that. Liam looked to her before leaning in and kissing her knuckles gently “Jade you have no idea how bad it hurt me that I couldn’t come to you. I got that text that you were in the hospital and I just thanked god that Drake was with you” and as he looked to her he finally let a single tear fall down his cheek. Jade couldn’t take the look in his eyes anymore and as she thought to herself and knowing that this is what it could be like for her life she leaned in pressing his lips to his cheek “Liam don’t beat yourself up please, I know it was scary, believe me I was terrified. But everything is going to be alright. I did a cat scan today and they should have the results soon. I just have to take it easy for a few days…you know doctor’s orders” and as he smiled to her he leaned up kissing her cheek “I am going to make it up to you, believe me when I say that. I want that chance to prove it to you that I care about you so much. You know that I love you and you know that I would never not come to see you if I could handle it” and as he looked to her he reached up stroking her cheek tenderly.
Jade leaned her head to his hand finding the familiar comfort that was in his touch and as she closed her eyes she saw in her mind everything that he has done for her and then seeing a flashback to the dream that she kept having and as she opened her eyes again she was looking right at Liam and as she nodded her head she knew that she couldn’t let him go. The words that he was saying was getting her right in the heart knowing that he couldn’t help the responsibilities that he had to take care of being King and as she found him looking at her with a deep longing and desire she leaned in pressing her lips to his in a soft tender kiss. Though as she closed her eyes and tried to enjoy the moment her mind flashed back to when she was sitting there at the river waiting for him and as she felt his arms come around her she didnt feel the same need or desire that she used to have but knowing that it could be just the events that were wearing her down she knew that she couldn’t just walk away. Though as they continued to kiss each other Liam started to get up onto the bed pulling her into his lap and holding her there for a few moments before Liam hesitantly pulled away from her, “I know that this is happening a lot and I hope some night soon we can spend the night together but I should get back before Bastien realizes that I am gone and or before Madeleine comes back” Though before he could set her back down on the bed Jade realized that there was something that she had to tell him. “Liam before you go there is something that you need to know. You know how I hang out with Drake, Hana and Maxwell sometimes? Well I…I don’t want you to freak out…but Madeleine is basically threatening Drake, and using him to get me to leave. I found this out the other night when we had gone out for a walk Madeleine saw us leave. I guess she cornered him and told him that if he didn’t get me to leave Cordonia, and walk away from you that she would make his life hell basically” and as she continued to explain this she could see that Liam was getting pissed. Though as she concluded telling him everything she made him promise that he wouldn’t say anything as she didn’t want anything bad to happen to Drake “He doesn’t deserve any badness in his life so please just…just keep this between us for right now. At least until the investigation is done “and as she looked to him she could see that he didn’t like her request one bit but he promised her that he would. Soon after Liam parted from her with a kiss and a warm gentle hug before leaving the room and bidding her a goodnight, but reminded her that if she needed anything he would try to get her anything that she needed.
Jade soon went back to her bed after walking Liam to the door when she knew that she didn’t want to go back to bed just yet and as she got to her bed to lay down she picked up her phone and immediately texted someone that she knew she wanted to talk too “Do you think you could come to my room?” and as she sent the text she got one back almost immediately “Of course. I will be right there just leave the door unlocked and stay in bed” and as she smiled to the text she started to lean back on the pillows that Drake had propped up for her for more comfort especially with her head the way that it was pounding. Though as she lied there she soon started to close her eyes falling into a little slumber but her mind flashed back to the same nightmare but this time she watched as the masked assassin injured and tortured Drake over and over again and as soon as the masked man slammed his knife into Drakes chest she heard him say “I love you Jade, always remember that” before his life drained from his brown eyes. Jade immediately screamed out in her dream and sat straight up in bed hearing “Baby, Jade wake up sweetie” and as she opened her eyes and felt her heart racing she looked over seeing Drake sitting there on the side of the bed. Without saying a word she reached out for him wrapping her arms around him right away letting the tears fall “Hey. Hey Morgan I got you, you were having a dream” and as she felt Drake’s arms wrapping around her holding her right to him she felt the tears fall down her cheeks “It…it happened again Drake” and as she sobbed into his chest his hand was running up and down her back trying to sooth her in the softest and most gentle way possible. “Don’t worry Morgan I got you and I am not going to let anything bad happen to you ever again, even those dreams that you are having I will always try and protect you no matter what” and as she was holding onto him and him to her Jade started to feel herself calming down a little bit more than she was already and as she looked to him she looked right to his eyes “Thank …thank you for coming…I just saw Liam and he explained why he didn’t meet me and wanted to apologize for not being there” and as she looked to Drake she could see that he looked a little upset. Jade looked to him “Drake what is it” and he just shook his head as he said “It’s nothing…don’t worry about it” and as she looked to him she knew that there was something going on that there was something that he was not telling her and as she looked to him again she started to sit up a little bit more and pulling from his embrace “You can’t lie to me Drake” and as she started to look to him the anger that she was starting to feel was starting to make her feel hot and as he looked to her he sighed “Jade don’t worry about it…I am taking care of it” and as she saw the look on his face as something that she had never seen before she reached up taking his cheek in her hand “Taking care of what exactly” and as he looked to her he looked down again not being able to meet her eyes “Drake Walker what the hell are you taking care of” and as he finally looked to her again he took a deep breath and said “I am leaving Cordonia”
