A few weeks after we thought we had defeated Evox, we discovered that he had escaped…into Mayor Daniels’ body, and has been possessing him. On top of that, evil Roxy and Blaze are back, but this time as robots. Thankfully, the real Roxy and Blaze are still okay. On the good side, we have a new weapon: the Beast X King Zord. Evox tried to take control of it, but we were able to stop him. Now, Commander Shaw was going to make a public announcement. "Grid Battleforce is shutting down the Morph-X Towers," she declared, her tone firm and resolute. "We cannot allow Evox to obtain any more Morph-X. We must act swiftly and decisively," Commander Shaw continued, her voice echoing with authority. "Together, we will dismantle Evox's grip on our city and ensure that Coral Harbor remains safe."
After the Commander’s announcement, Nate led us to his lab. “I have a theory about Evox. In order to keep possessing Mayor Daniels, I believe Evox needs Morph-X. So that means he’ll do whatever he can to get some,” Nate explained. “But I have a plan—a Hyper Freeze Arrow capable of immobilizing Evox. Let’s go down to the training room and I’ll show you.”
We all eagerly followed Nate and Zoey. In the training room was a dummy dressed in a wedding outfit, and Ben and Betty were there. Zoey demonstrated the Hyper Freeze Arrow power by encasing the dummy in unbreakable ice and I couldn't help but marvel at the ingenuity of our team. However, Ben and Betty's reaction to their father's ruined tuxedo added a somber note to the proceedings. Their futile attempts to rescue the dummy from the ice only added to the sense of frustration in the room. “That’s great and all, but how are we going to separate my dad from Evox after he’s frozen?” Devon asked.
“I…don’t know yet. I’m still trying to figure that part out,’ Nate replied.
"I can't bear the thought of my dad being frozen forever," Devon declared, his voice thick with emotion. "I'll find a way to save him, even if it means taking on Evox myself." Then, Devon left the room. His abrupt departure, fueled by the fear of losing his father, stirred a mixture of sympathy and determination within me.
“Don’t worry, Nate. If anyone can find a way to save Mayor Daniels, it’s you,” I encouraged him with a small smile. He gave a small smile back and thanked me. Then, I left to go find Devon. "Hey Dev, wait up," I said, catching up to him and placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. His troubled expression softened slightly at my touch. "First of all, if you ever decide to take on Evox yourself, I'm coming with you no matter what," I assured him, determination lacing my voice. "Secondly, we will save your dad. You know how brilliant Nate is," I continued, offering him a reassuring smile. Devon sighed, his eyes reflecting a mixture of gratitude and uncertainty.
"Thanks, Kali," he said softly, his voice tinged with emotion. "I just... I can't bear the thought of losing him. He's all I've got."
I squeezed his shoulder gently, offering him what comfort I could. "We won't let that happen," I promised, my resolve matching his own. "We're in this together, remember?" Devon nodded, his expression firming with resolve.
"Yeah, you're right. We're in this together."
In the Cyber Dimension…
Evox and his minions gathered around a flickering screen, watching Commander Shaw's broadcast with growing frustration. Scrozzle, the mastermind behind many of their schemes, clenched his fists in agitation as he heard the dire news. "Our Morph-X reserves are dangerously low," Scrozzle exclaimed, his mechanical voice tinged with concern. "If we don't replenish them soon, we'll be powerless."
Evox's eyes glinted with determination as he turned to Robo-Roxy and Robo-Blaze. "We need more Morph-X, and we need it quickly," he commanded. "Find a way to acquire it before our reserves run dry."
The Robo-Generals nodded, their metallic features reflecting the dim light of the chamber. With a sense of urgency driving them forward, they set out to carry out Evox's orders, determined to secure the precious resource at any cost.
Kali’s POV
I follow Devon to the record room. “What are we doing here?” I asked.
“Well, evil Rangers have been a thing before, so I thought maybe somewhere, sometime something similar to what happened to my dad happened to a Ranger,” Devon replied as he started searching the records. I thought for a few minutes.
“Hey, what about Billy Cranston, the Blue Mighty Morphin Ranger? Maybe he can help us out. We still have the Gridspeaker, right? We can use that to try to contact him!” I suggested with a small smile.
“Ya know…I actually didn’t think about that. That’s a good idea. Oh, before we rescued you, Nate modified the Gridspeaker so we could simply hook it up to a computer and use it for transdimensional calls,” Devon replied with a small smile back. He then grabbed the Gridspeaker from the shelf and showed me how it worked. We found Billy’s website and tried calling him, but no answer. Suddenly, Commander Shaw's urgent voice crackled through our comms.
"Rangers, the decoy truck is on the move," she exclaimed, prompting swift action.
"Let's move!" I said, urgency coursing through my veins as we raced to intercept the truck. We met up with the others and together raced to the truck. Bulldozertron materialized before it, a formidable obstacle standing between us and the truck. Without hesitation, we morphed into action, the familiar surge of power coursing through me as I prepared to face our adversary head-on.
"Bulldozertron, you're not getting your hands on that Morph-X!" Devon shouted, his voice ringing out with unwavering resolve as we unleashed a barrage of attacks against the towering foe.
"Let's take him down, Dev," I called out, my voice tinged with determination as we unleashed a barrage of attacks on Bulldozertron. Our combined efforts sent the Robotron staggering backwards, but he quickly regained his footing, his mechanical form bristling with renewed aggression.
As Bulldozertron launched a counterattack, our focus shifted to defending the truck and its precious cargo. But just as we thought we had the upper hand, reinforcements arrived in the form of Robo-Roxy and Robo-Blaze, their presence heralding a new wave of danger.
"Steel and I can take on the Tronics!" Nate called out, his voice ringing out above the din of battle as we split into two groups to tackle the dual threats. As Roxy and Blaze morphed into action, a fierce battle ensued, their attacks relentless as they sought to overwhelm our comrades and breach the defenses of the decoy truck.
As the rest of us continued to fight Bulldozertron, I noticed we weren’t doing too well. “We need a new plan, Dev. This robotron is pretty tough,” I said.
“Yeah, I agree. We need more power. Beast-X Mode!” Devon said. Zoey, Ravi and I followed his lead. Instead of being just shoulder armor like Devon’s, Zoey’s and Ravi’s was, my Beast-X Mode covered my arms, hands and chest. The gauntlets on my hands were like wolf claws, and the sleek breastplate gleamed in the sunlight, emblazoned with the emblem of the Wolf. The armor was all black adorned with intricate silver accents.
Our Beast-X Modes gave us a much needed boost against Bulldozertron. Finally, we managed to destroy the robotron with a massive combo attack.
“Cheetah Charge!”
“Jackrabbit Spin Strike!”
“Gorilla Smash!”
“Lunar Fury Slash!”
Just as there was an explosion from Bulldozertron being destroyed, there was another explosion behind us. I turned around and saw that Steel had destroyed the decoy truck. Robo-Roxy and Robo-Blaze were nowhere to be found, along with the Tronics. As the intensity of the battle subsided, Commander Shaw's arrival signaled a shift in our focus. Her expression was grim as she approached us with urgent news.
"Rangers, I have some bad news," Commander Shaw began, her voice laced with concern. "Tower 5 has experienced a system failure. We won't be able to manually drain it, and we'll have to leave it unguarded."
"But Commander, leaving Tower 5 unguarded is too risky," I voiced my apprehension, my tone reflecting the gravity of the situation. "Is there no other option?"
Commander Shaw shook her head solemnly, her gaze unwavering. "I'm afraid not, Kali. Our resources are stretched thin, and we can't afford to divert attention from other critical areas."
"We'll have to come up with a contingency plan to minimize the impact," Zoey suggested, her voice tinged with determination. "We can't let Evox exploit this vulnerability."
Commander Shaw nodded in agreement, her expression reflecting a steely resolve. "Agreed. Let's reconvene at base and strategize our next move. We can't afford any more setbacks."
"Commander, we've got a situation," one of the crew members said over the comm, his voice filled with urgency. Commander Shaw's brow furrowed in concern.
"What's going on?" she asked, her tone clipped.
"A Gigadrone is teleporting to Tower 5 as we speak," another crew member interjected, her words heightening the tension.
"We need to act fast," Commander Shaw declared, her voice firm. "Rangers, get ready." Before we could respond, another urgent message came through.
"Commander, we have a transdimensional call coming in from Billy Cranston," one of the technicians announced. Commander Shaw's expression hardened as she processed the information.
"Patch it through," she ordered, her voice commanding. Devon and I exchanged a quick glance, a silent understanding passing between us. Without hesitation, Commander Shaw made her decision.
"Devon, head back to Grid Battleforce and speak with Billy," she instructed, her tone decisive. "Nate, I need you to finish the second Hyper Freeze Arrow. The rest of you, defend the tower.”
Devon nodded in acknowledgment, his expression determined. "On it, Commander," he replied, his voice resolute.
The rest of us geared up to face the looming threat. Steel took the helm of the Beast-X King Zord, his determination evident in every movement. "Let's do this, team," Steel’s voice crackled over the comms, his tone resolute. I nodded, my heart racing with anticipation. With a new Megazord program developed by Nate and my Wolf Zord, we were ready to face whatever came our way.
As we took our positions in our respective Zords, the ground rumbled beneath us as Bulldozerdrone teleported near the Morph-X Tower. The sight sent a surge of adrenaline coursing through my veins. “You ready, Howl?” I asked my Beast Bot, smiling to myself.
“Yup! I’m right with ya, Kali,” she replied, just as determined as I was.
"Time to show them what we're made of," I muttered to myself, my grip tightening on the controls. With precision born of countless hours of training, Zoey, Ravi and Steel combined their Zords into the formidable Beast-X King Megazord. The sensation of unity washed over me as the Zords merged seamlessly, forming a towering figure of unmatched power.
"Beast-X King Megazord, online and ready for action," Zoey announced, her voice steady. As Bulldozerdrone loomed before us, its menacing presence casting a shadow over the battlefield, we wasted no time in engaging the enemy.
"Let's show them what the Beast-X King Megazord and Wolf Zord can do!" my voice echoed over the comms with excitement. I used my Wolf Zord to do quick, distracting attacks while the new Beast-X King Megazord hit it with bigger attacks.
Then, with a coordinated assault, we unleashed a barrage of devastating attacks, each strike fueled by our unwavering determination to protect Coral Harbor at all costs. The ground trembled beneath us as the Beast-X King Megazord unleashed its full might, overwhelming the Gigadrone with a relentless onslaught. And then, with a blinding flash of light, the Beast-X King Megazord unleashed its ultimate attack: the Beast-X King Hyper Beam. The energy surged forth, engulfing the Gigadrone in a torrent of power that left nothing but smoldering wreckage in its wake.
Back at Grid Battleforce…
As I entered the familiar confines of Grid Battleforce, a sense of urgency gnawed at me. Billy Cranston appeared on the screen before me, his image flickering slightly with the transmission. I quickly launched into an explanation of my predicament, hoping for some insight or solution. "Billy, I need your help. The situation with my dad feels a lot like what Tommy went through. Is there anything we can do?" I pleaded, my voice tinged with desperation.
Billy's response was measured, his expression grave. "Devon, the circumstances surrounding Mayor Daniels are complex. It's not quite the same as what Tommy experienced with the Green Ranger powers."
Disappointment washed over me, but I refused to give up hope. "There has to be something we can try, Billy. Anything."
To my relief, Billy's face brightened slightly as he revealed a glimmer of hope. “There might be. A few years ago, I read about the Dino Charge Rangers and their use of Split Emitters to rescue Zenowing from within Doomwing. It separated the two completely,” Billy explained.
“If it’s old Ranger tech, we might have it in the Vault. Thanks Billy,” I said with a hopeful smile.
“Anytime, Devon. Good luck.”
After the call ended, I hurried to the lab, arriving just as the team was about to set their plan in motion. I turned to Nate, urgency evident in my voice. "Nate, do we have any Split Emitters in the Ranger Vault?"
He nodded thoughtfully, “We might. Let me check."
Before I could elaborate on what I had learned from Billy, Commander Shaw's voice cut through the air, ordering us to leave immediately. My heart sank, but I knew I couldn't abandon this lead. "I'm staying behind," I declared, my gaze meeting Nate's, "I need to find those Split Emitters.”
Nate nodded in understanding and handed me a vial of Morph-X. "You'll need this to power them up."
“Thanks Nate,” I said as I took the Morph-X. With a sense of determination fueling my every step, I enlisted the help of Ben and Betty. Together, we scoured the Ranger Vault, a treasure trove of old Ranger technology. Betty's keen eye soon uncovered the Split Emitters, and I wasted no time in explaining my plan to them.
"We're going to use these to save my dad. But first, we need to charge them up," I explained, my voice brimming with conviction as I handed over the vial of Morph-X. As Betty set to work on charging the Split Emitters, I couldn't shake the feeling of hope that surged within me. With this newfound plan in motion, there was a chance, however slim, that we could rescue my dad and bring him back to us. And I was determined to see it through to the end, no matter what obstacles lay in our path.
Kali’s POV
Standing watch at Tower 5, tension hung heavy in the air as we waited for any sign of Evox's arrival. Nate was busy preparing the Hyper Freeze Arrow within the Beast-X Ultra Cannon, his brow furrowed in concentration.
Suddenly, the air crackled with energy as Evox materialized at the tower's entrance, sending a surge of adrenaline coursing through my veins. Nate wasted no time, unleashing the arrow with precision, but to our dismay, Evox intercepted it effortlessly, hurling it back towards us with menacing intent. Before Evox could advance, Devon burst onto the scene, his arrival a beacon of hope amidst the chaos.
"Hold on, Evox! You're not getting away this time!" his voice rang out with unwavering determination, echoing my own resolve. However, Evox's cunning manipulation knew no bounds. In a cruel twist, he morphed back into Mayor Daniels, his taunting words slicing through the tension like a knife.
"Devon, my boy, do you really want to risk your father's life for the sake of stopping me?"
My heart clenched at the sight, knowing the weight of Devon's decision hung in the balance. "Devon, don't listen to him! We can't let him manipulate us!" I pleaded, desperation lacing my voice as I locked eyes with my teammate. Despite our protests, Devon hesitated, his grip on the Beast-X Blaster faltering. Fear and uncertainty clouded his expression as he grappled with the impossible choice before him. Mayor Daniels…Evox, smirked as he walked past Devon.
But then, Ben's voice broke through the tension, a beacon of hope amidst the uncertainty. "Devon, the Split Emitters are ready! We can separate Evox from Mayor Daniels!" he said over the comms, his words sparked a glimmer of determination in Devon's eyes, reigniting his resolve. Without a moment's hesitation, Devon sprang into action, transporting the Split Emitters to Evox's location with unwavering resolve. As the devices hummed to life, a brilliant cascade of light engulfed Evox and Mayor Daniels, tearing them apart in a dazzling display of power.
Relief washed over me as Devon rushed to embrace his father. However, Scrozzle and a weakened Evox vanished into the shadows, leaving us to pick up the pieces once more.
Later….
Later that day, relief washed over us as Commander Shaw delivered the long-awaited news. "The Morph-X Towers will be back online to the public," she announced, her words carrying a sense of triumph.
Nate stepped forward, his expression grave yet determined. "But there's something you all need to know. We found traces of the Evox Virus inside the Morph-X, but it's all been eradicated now."
Commander Shaw turned her attention to Mayor Daniels, her gaze piercing yet sympathetic. "Mayor Daniels, do you have any insights into Evox's future plans?" she inquired, her voice tinged with urgency. Mayor Daniels shook his head, his expression troubled.
"I wish I could help, but everything went black after I noticed the purple glow on my hands," he confessed, his tone heavy with remorse. Despite the uncertainty looming over us, I shared Devon's joy at having his father restored to normalcy.
"I'm just glad to have you back, Dad," he murmured, his voice filled with gratitude. Mayor Daniels turned to all of us, his eyes shining with appreciation.
"And I’m glad to be back. Thank you all for rescuing me," he said earnestly, his words carrying the weight of his gratitude. Nate stepped forward, his gaze locking with Devon's.
"Devon, you deserve full credit for this. Your plan saved the day," he declared, his voice ringing with sincerity. Just as we began to relax into a sense of relief, Zoey's sharp observation interrupted the moment.
"Hey, guys, where are the Split Emitters?" she exclaimed, her brows furrowing in confusion. A sense of bewilderment washed over us as we scanned the room, searching for any sign of the missing devices. It wasn't long before Ben and Betty's antics came to light, their well-intentioned yet chaotic efforts leading to them and their father being encased in ice. With a sigh, Devon stepped forward, his determination unwavering.
"I'll take care of this," he assured us, his voice brimming with resolve. Together, we rallied around Devon, our bond stronger than ever as we worked to rectify the chaos that ensued from Ben and Betty's escapade. And as we freed the Burke family from their icy prison, a sense of unity filled the air, reminding us once again of the strength we found in each other.
