Over the past few weeks, we’ve been building our army of attack bots and I’ve been keeping my cover as Kali still, hanging out with the Rangers when possible to keep them from hopefully suspecting anything. I would always fight the Rangers while Roxy and Blaze got the Morph X. Each time, I could tell the Rangers were getting more and more frustrated and tired. Now, we were done with the very last one, but it wasn’t an attack bot.
“Your wolf zord is ready,” Scrozzle told me and I nodded.
“Wait, she gets a zord? After all we’ve done?” Roxy complained.
“Yeah, because it was my idea and someone has to lead these bots into battle,” I shot back.
“Once we take over the Morphing Grid and have unlimited access to Morph X, you will each get your own zords,” Master Evox said. That seemed to satisfy Roxy for now. “Is everything ready?” he then asked Scrozzle and me.
“Yes, Master Evox,” I replied.
“Good. It’s time to unleash our attack!”
“Finally!” Blaze said excitedly. I nodded and morphed with a smirk. Roxy and Blaze morphed, too and then we teleported out with my nine bots. Like usual, we started destroying things and as predicted, the Rangers showed up.
“Oh great…now there’s nine!?” Blue said, exasperated.
“You don’t stand a chance now, Rangers! Surrender now and I will make your death swift and painless,” I said.
“Not a chance! You may have us outnumbered-” Red started.
“Tronics!” Roxy interrupted, summoning our foot soldiers.
“Make that way outnumbered…” Yellow said with a hint of nervousness.
“Regardless, we’re not going down without a fight. It’s morphin’ time!” Red exclaimed.
“Activate Beast Power!”
The Tronics were the first to rush in, long with Roxy and Blaze. It took the Rangers a little longer than normal to defeat the Tronics, but as soon as they did, I sent all my bots in, not letting them get a moment to even breathe. Roxy and Blaze stepped back, and the bots soon overwhelmed the Rangers, causing them to demorph. They had cuts and bruises, and seemed to be hurting pretty bad. “Guys…we have to retreat…” Yellow said as they all slowly stood then bolted.
“Not this time! Roxy, Blaze! Get them!” I ordered and they gave chase. I sent Engine Banki and Nunchuck Banki with them. In a few minutes, they came back with the Yellow Ranger squirming in their grasp. “One Ranger is better than none. Take her back to Master Evox for now. I’m sure the others will come looking for her. We can use her as a bargaining chip,” I told them.
“You’ll…never win…” Yellow said weakly.
“We’ll see about that,” I replied and then they teleported away. My bots and I continued to cause chaos as well as collect Morph X.
Back at GB…
“Commander, they captured Zoey,” Devon said as he and Ravi came limping in. Nate and the Commander rushed over and helped them sit down.
“There’s too many…they overwhelmed us,” Ravi explained.
“Yeah…nine powerful attack bots,” Devon added.
“Nine? I guess Evox is getting impatient,” Nate commented as he helped to bandage their cuts.
“We have to find Zoey,” Ravi then said.
“I want to find her too, but you two are in no condition to fight,” the Commander replied.
“We have to keep fighting, though! We can’t just give up,” Devon argued.
“We’re not giving up. We just need to take a step back and figure out a new plan,” she said.
“Alright, does anyone have any ideas?” Ravi asked, but there was silence for a few moments. Then out of nowhere, a portal opened up in the room. It was a dynamic fusion of advanced technology and high speed energy. It radiated a vibrant crimson and silver hue, and was a swirling vortex of energy that resembled a powerful engine. Immediately, everyone was on the defensive. However, eight people stepped out.
“Who are you?” the Commander asked.
“My name is Dr. K, and these are my Ranger Series operators. Scott, Dillion, Summer, Flynn, Ziggy, Gem, and Gemma.”
Each person raised their hand and waved when their name was said. “My new transdimensional alert system alerted me to a powerful energy here. Is everything okay?” Dr. K then asked. The three looked at each other momentarily before the Commander gave Devon a nod.
“Not really. Our friend and fellow Ranger was captured by Evox’s gang and currently they outnumber us by a longshot. When we fought them earlier, we got our butts kicked,” Devon explained. Ravi and Nate added on more details, too.
“We can help,” Dillon spoke up after.
“Yeah, we’ve defeated Venjix’s attack bots before. We can help you do it again,” Flynn said in his thick Scottish accent.
“We might need more help, though. Dr. K, weren’t you working on a way to communicate with other Rangers via the Morphing Grid?” Scott asked.
“Yes but I haven’t had the chance to test it yet.”
“No time-” Gemma started and then Gem finished with, “like the present!”
“They’re right. We’ll take any chance we can get, no matter how small,” Nate said. Commander Shaw then took everyone to the nearest Morph X tower. Dr. K took out a laptop and a megaphone-like device with sleek lines and advanced technology from her backpack.
“This is an invention I like to call the Gridspeaker. Its core innovation lies in the protective magnetic field it emits, safeguarding the user from the dangerous energy fluctuations while interacting with the Morphing Grid,” Dr. K explained. Nate marveled at the device like a little kid in a candy store. “By aligning the Gridspeaker’s frequencies with the Morph X Tower’s broadcasting capabilities,” Dr. K continued as she connected the laptop and her invention to the computer system in the Tower, “we should theoretically be able to send our message directly through the Grid.”
“How will we know if it worked?” Devon asked. Dr. K paused and looked at him.
“We may never know. As I said, I haven’t been able to test it yet. But if someone does hear the message…who knows how they’ll respond.” After a few minutes, Dr. K was all set up. “Now, just type your message into the program, hit send and the Gridspeaker should beam the message into the Morph X flow,” she said. Devon went over and typed in his message.
“If any other Rangers get this, we could really use your help. Our enemy, Evox, has us outnumbered and we took a beating when we tried to fight them alone. On top of that, one of our Rangers was captured. Please, Coral Harbor needs you.”
A couple minutes go by after Devon sent the message with nothing happening. “Well, it was..” Nate started but then was interrupted by another portal opening up. It looked different than the one Dr. K and her team came through. This one shimmered with an ethereal blue and purple glow. It had a swirling vortex, resembling a cascading waterfall of shimmering mist. Eight more people stepped out from the portal.
“We heard your call for help. My name is Udonna. This is my husband, Leanbow and our son, Nick,” the woman with a beautiful white dress introduced.
Nick introduced the others, “And these are our friends, Daggeron, Xander, Chip, Vida, and Maddy. We’re the Mystic Force Rangers.”
“I’m Commander Shaw, and these are two of my Rangers, Devon and Ravi. Thank you so much for coming. We’ll fill you in on the details on our way back to Grid Battleforce HQ.”
Back in the Cyber Dimension…
After collecting a ton of Morph X, we teleported back to the Cyber Dimension. I didn’t demorph, as I didn’t want to risk Zoey finding out who I was just yet. “Excellent work. So far your plan is proving to be a success. Keep it up, and I’ll make you my second in command,” Evox praised.
That’s at least better than being on his bad side…still, there’s nothing I want more than to be free from his control. I’ve hated every second of this, and I’m pretty sure I’ll remember everything, considering my mind is still intact.
“Thank you, Master Evox,” I said with a bow. I heard Blaze and Roxy scoff.
“You’ll never win, Evox! We’ll stop you no matter what it takes,” Yellow said as she struggled with the chains holding her to a wall.
“From where I’m standing, little bunny, it seems like the opposite is true,” I taunted.
“Who are you anyway? You’re a Ranger, you’re supposed to be good,” she mentioned.
“News flash: evil Rangers have been around before, most notably Rita’s Green Ranger, and most recently, me-Evox’s Black Wolf Ranger.”
“Take your Attack Bot army out again,” Evox then commanded and I nodded. We teleported back into the human world with Roxy and Blaze again. They summoned the Tronics and our usual dance of destruction began. After a few minutes, the Red and Blue Rangers showed up.
“Back for more? Perhaps you care to join your friend as our prisoners,” Blaze taunted.
“You couldn’t defeat us last time, what makes you think that’s gonna change?” Roxy joined in with her own taunts.
“They’re not alone anymore,” came a voice I didn’t recognize. Seven more people appeared, two girls and five guys.
“RPM, get in gear!” they called in unison and morphed into Rangers.
No way!!! The RPM Rangers are here!!! Man, I would love to meet them when I’m back in control…in the meantime I’m about to get my butt kicked.
“More Rangers!? How?” Roxy asked in surprise.
“It doesn’t matter. This may actually be a perfect opportunity. Not only can we kill the Grid Battleforce Rangers, but the RPM Rangers as well,” I replied.
“They’re not the only ones who came to help,” yet another voice said. Eight more people showed up on the other side of Red and Blue.
“Magical source, Mystic Force!” they said together, morphing into the Mystic Force Rangers.
Seriously!? They’re here too? This day just got better and worse. I never thought that would be possible. Well…I’m screwed, but at least I’ll go out fighting legends.
“Looks like it’s our lucky day. We get to kill three Ranger teams,” I said with an evil chuckle.
“We won’t let you harm anyone else or take over the Grid,” Red declared. Blaze summoned the Tronics and as the battle erupted, sparks flew and explosive clashes reverberated throughout the air. The RPM Rangers utilized their advanced technology and lightning-fast reflexes, while the Mystic Force Rangers tapped into the mystical powers of their ancient lineage. Despite their valiant efforts, the three Ranger teams struggled to overpower the relentless onslaught of the Tronics and Attack Bots. Amidst the chaos, the Red Ranger locked eyes with me.
"I know there’s still good within you. It's not too late to change," he called out, his voice cutting through the clashing sounds of battle.
I can’t fight Evox’s control, Devon. It’s too strong!
“Your efforts are in vain, Red Ranger. The old me is gone. I’m loyal to no one but Evox,” I replied. The battle raged on, reaching a crescendo of epic proportions. The Rangers fought with an unyielding spirit, refusing to back down. Slowly but surely, they gained the upper hand, their combined might overwhelming our forces. In one of the most powerful final attacks I’d ever seen, they wiped out all nine of my bots. “Scrozzle, time for part two,” I said over the comm.
