"They seemed to take the bait," I smiled.
"Great. Now Time for part two of the plan. Billy, Ethan and I finished what we're calling the Cipher," Nate said proudly as he revealed an enigmatic and geometric device, featuring intricate patterns that illuminated with a mystic allure.
"The Cipher operates through the intricate orchestration of quantum encryption algorithms coupled with sophisticated neural network processing. Upon activation, the device harnesses quantum entanglement principles to create a localized field of signal disruption, effectively perturbing electromagnetic frequencies within its vicinity," Billy then explained.
"Uh, can someone translate that to English please?" Ravi asked.
"It creates force fields to block signals and disrupt machinery," Ethan summarized.
"So, it should be able to stop Roxy and Blaze, as well as free Alpha from the compliance collar, right?" Zoey asked and Nate nodded.
"Good. I'll go grab the Morph-X and then we'll head to the warehouse," I said before leaving the room. Devon followed me.
"Kali?"
I looked up to see Devon coming up to me, his expression filled with concern. "Hey," he said softly, walking alongside me. "How are you holding up?"
"I'm fine," I replied simply.
"You know you can be honest with me. We all admired Dr. Oliver but I know he was your hero," Devon said gently. "Sorry…I don't mean to be pushy. I…just wanna make sure you're okay," he added quickly.
I stopped and turned to look at him. "Of course I'm not okay, Dev. I saw him die and I didn't do anything. We have the technology, if I had done something maybe then he would still be alive. I could've warned the other Rangers, could've…"
"Kali, stop. Don't do this to yourself. It's not your fault, okay?" Devon said firmly but held my shoulders gently and looked me right in the eyes. "You've already gone through more pain than any of us have, and probably ever will. But you can't change the past. Blaming yourself won't bring Dr. Oliver back. We're all grieving right now, but we need to lean on each other for support. We'll get through this together," he added as he pulled me into a comforting embrace, his arms a warm and reassuring presence around me. Without hesitation I accepted his hug and buried my face in his shoulder as tears streamed down from my eyes. Devon patiently kept holding me for a few moments until I calmed down and let go.
"Thanks, Dev for always watching my back and keeping me grounded," I smiled a little at him as I wiped my eyes.
"Anytime, Kali. I know you'd do the same for me," Devon smiled back.
"Of course I would," I chuckled. "Now come on, let's get part two of the plan set up," I added as we continued walking to get the Morph-X.

Two hours later, I was back at the warehouse, once again morphed but this time I had some cases of Morph-X with me. Also, what Scrozzle, Roxy and Blaze hopefully didn't know was that Jason, Billy, the Dino Thunder Rangers, and my friends were all hiding and waiting nearby. Sure enough, Roxy, Blaze and Scrozzle showed up with Alpha…and Tronics and a new robotron.
"Brought some extra friends to the party, I see," I said nonchalantly.
"Just as extra reassurance. Now, hand over the Morph-X," Blaze demanded.
"Extra reassurance? Please, the Rangers are no match for me. You're no different," I taunted, even though in reality I knew I wouldn't be able to take them on by myself. "But I didn't come here looking for a fight. Give me Alpha, and the Morph-X is yours," I added. Alpha and the robotron started walking over to me. As soon as they were close enough, I grabbed Alpha and kicked the robotron away. At that moment, the rest of the Rangers revealed themselves, forming a protective wall alongside me in front of Alpha. In a mesmerizing display of power, the rest of the Rangers morphed.
"It's Morphin Time! Tyrannosaurus!"
"Triceratops!"
"Dino Thunder, power up! Ha!"
"It's Morphin Time! Activate Beast Power!"
Finally, I get to fight alongside two teams of legendary Rangers instead of against them!
"I knew we couldn't trust you," Roxy said as she and Blaze morphed.
"Yeah and I knew I couldn't trust you, either. You're not gonna take Alpha or the Morph-X!" I shot back, my signature confidence evident in my voice.
"Tronics, attack!" Blaze ordered and they rushed towards us. I charged at Blaze, Zoey went after Roxy, and Devon, Ravi and Steel went after the robotron. The rest of the Rangers fought the Tronics.
"So you were lying this whole time to lead us into a trap…maybe you do still have some corrupted Morph-X in you," Blaze taunted.
"You wish. I've got my friends now, and they care about me just as much as I care about them. I'm never going to hurt them again."
After Nate, Billy and Ethan got Alpha free, Nate ran over to Zoey and used the Cipher to take down Roxy. Blaze saw this and retreated, probably not wanting to share the same fate. Together, we were able to take down the robotron. To our dismay, not one, but three Gigadrones descended from the skies above, accompanied by a cadre of Gigatronics that outnumbered us six to one. Undeterred by the overwhelming odds, my team and I rallied our resolve, knowing that our only hope lay in the combined strength of our Zords.
My team and I called for our zords, and the others did the same."We need Dinozord power, now!" Jason's voice boomed across the battlefield, a call to arms that echoed with the primal fury of ancient beasts. With a deafening roar, the T-Rex and Triceratops Zords materialized, their towering forms a testament to the raw power at our command.
"Dinozords, now!" echoed the voices of the Dino Thunder Rangers, their words infused with determination as a massive black Brachio Zord lumbered onto the scene. With a rumble of seismic force, its colossal form split apart, unleashing a torrent of smaller Dinozords that surged forward to join the fray.
Teaming up with Jason and Billy, I squared off against one of the imposing Gigadrones, our combined efforts focused on dismantling the mechanical monstrosity before it could wreak havoc upon Coral Harbor. Meanwhile, Nate and Steel valiantly contended with the relentless onslaught of Gigatronics, their synchronized movements a testament to their unwavering determination. Amidst the chaos, the rest of my team engaged another Gigadrone, their resolve unyielding in the face of overwhelming odds, while the Dino Thunder Rangers clashed with the remaining adversary.
Yet, despite our best efforts, the tide of battle began to turn against us, our forces struggling to maintain their ground amidst the relentless assault of Evox's minions. "We're getting overwhelmed! We need more power! Anyone got any ideas?" Nate's urgent voice crackled over the comm, a plea for assistance that underscored the gravity of our situation.
"I've got one that should help us even the odds a bit," I replied, determination coursing through my veins as I formulated a plan to turn the tide of battle in our favor. "Howl, can you continue to control the Wolf Zord without me?" I then asked my Beast Bot.
"Yup, no problem, Kali!" Howl's unwavering confidence bolstered my resolve, and with a nod of gratitude, I leaped from the safety of my Zord.
"Kali, what are you doing?" Devon's voice carried a note of concern as I steadied myself, my grip tightening around the Dragon Dagger, a relic of untold power bestowed upon me by none other than Dr. Oliver himself.
"Calling on an ally. Trust me," I reassured Devon, my resolve unshakable as I drew upon the memories of my conversations with Dr. Oliver, the weight of his legacy guiding my actions. With a steady hand and a resolute heart, I played the comforting melody that summoned forth the legendary Dragon Zord, a testament to the enduring legacy of its former master. In a blaze of brilliant light, the Dragon Zord materialized before me, its majestic form a sight to behold as it stood poised for battle.
"Tommy's Dragon Zord?" Jason's incredulous voice echoed over the comm. With a smile of quiet satisfaction, I teleported atop the Dragon Zord, its metallic surface cool beneath my feet. It took me a moment to steady my footing, but I stood confidently, gripping the Dragon Dagger as I prepared to unleash its formidable power upon our adversaries.
"I'll explain the whole thing to you guys later, but Dr. Oliver gave me his Dragon Dagger and with it, the Zord," I relayed to my teammates, a sense of reverence infusing my words as I prepared to engage the enemy.
"And you're just now using it?" Ravi's incredulous query hung in the air, but I offered no explanation, my focus squarely fixed on the task at hand.
"Tail Drill Attack!" I exclaimed and the Dragon Zord surged forward, unleashing a devastating Tail Drill Attack upon the Gigadrone Jason, Billy and I had been fighting, its ferocity matched only by the resolve burning within my heart. "Howl and I can finish off this one," I then told Jason and Billy.
"We could use some help with the Gigatronics!" Steel called out.
"Got it. On our way," Jason replied as he and Billy hurried to help Nate and Steel.
"Dragon finger missiles!" I called out, my voice resolute as the missiles found their mark with pinpoint accuracy, striking the Gigadrone's vulnerable spot with devastating force, the air crackling with energy. Sensing an opportunity to turn the tide of battle, I turned to my Wolf Zord, with a plan that would require perfect coordination. "Howl, let's go for a double final attack!" I proposed, my voice ringing with conviction as I outlined our strategy.
"Copy that, Kali!" Howl responded eagerly, her determination mirroring my own as we prepared to unleash our combined strength upon our mechanical foe. With each blow landed, our resolve only strengthened, our focus unwavering in the face of overwhelming odds. Our combined attack quickly finished off the Gigadrone. Then, we went to help our friends and together we were able to defeat Evox's forces.
"Thanks for your help," I offered a grateful smile to Jason and Billy, as well as the Dino Thunder Rangers when we were back at Grid Battleforce.
"Always happy to help. Thanks for finding Alpha. We thought maybe Drakkon had gotten to him," Jason replied, his words carrying a note of relief that resonated with the shared sense of victory among us.
"Yes, thank you Rangers for rescuing me," Alpha thanked us.
"No problem. It's what we do," I replied with a chuckle. As Alpha expressed his gratitude, Zoey stepped forward with a sincere apology, her words filled with genuine remorse.
"Again, I'm sorry for putting the compliance collar on you," Zoey's apology hung in the air, the weight of her regret palpable as Alpha offered a gracious response.
"Ay-yi-yi, while it wasn't fun not being able to resist Evox's demands, I'm thankful your plan worked," he replied, his voice tinged with relief.
"I can relate to that," I chuckled softly. Before they could depart, Jason approached me with a request, his expression solemn.
"Hey Kali, before we go do you mind if we talk with you?" Jason then asked me.
"Yeah, sure. I know a good spot," I replied. I led him and Billy to the exact bench where Dr. Oliver gave the Dragon Dagger to me.
"I know this is probably hard to talk about right now, but we need to know what you know about Drakkon and what Tommy told you," Billy said gently as we sat down.
I took a deep breath and explained the dreams I'd had, then what Dr. Oliver told me about Drakkon and about myself. Finally, I told them about the dream I had of Drakkon killing him.
"Hm…somehow Tommy knew more than us. We need to talk to the Dino Thunder Rangers. Maybe they noticed something off about him," Billy thought out loud. "Thank you for telling us all this, Kali. I'm sorry you saw Tommy…but know that we're here for you. If you have any more dreams about Drakkon, use this to contact me directly," he then said as he handed me a wrist communicator.
"Woah, this looks exactly like your team's communicators!" I said excitedly as I put it on my right wrist. Billy chuckled a little.
"Yeah, that's what I modeled it after," he smiled proudly.
"Ya know, I don't know exactly what Tommy meant with what he told you, but I wholeheartedly believe he was onto something. You and Tommy share a similar story and Ike him, you have a good heart. Never give up staying true to who you are, Kali," Jason said with a small smile and Billy nodded in agreement.
"Thanks guys. That means a lot to me coming from you both. Out of all the Ranger teams throughout history, I've always looked up to the Mighty Morphin team the most, especially Dr. Oliver," I replied, wiping tears from my eyes.
"And that means a lot to us. We'll let you know if we find out anything more about Drakkon, too. After all, us Rangers have to stick together," Jason said, offering a small smile.
"Tommy trusted you and believed in you, so much that he gave you the Dragon Dagger. Always remember that," Billy smiled a little too, putting a gentle hand on my shoulder. I nodded and thanked him as we stood. Then, we went back to Grid Battleforce and said our final goodbyes, though I had a feeling I'd see them again soon.
