“One on the rocks for me, and one for the lady, too,” Damon said to the man at the bar.
I set my hands on the counter, standing on my tiptoes as I breathed heavily, trying to see above it.
Damon just caught under my hips and set me on a stool, and I gazed up at him when he looked back at the cashier.
His eyes flashed green. “If you can go get it, please.”
The man’s gaze grew cold and cloudy. “Ah… yes… Yes, I can.”
And he walked off.
I kicked out my legs excitedly as Damon leaned on the counter, watching me in amusement.
“H-U-N-T,” I hummed again. “I want you to caaaatch me.”
He just smirked.
The bartender came over to us. “Here you go….”
He set two drinks of the same contraption in front of Damon, and another in front of me.
I gasped, eyes sparkling.
I mean… if I was human, I’d be too young to drink this, but I was a spirit. Therefore, it was fine.
I just grasped the drink when Damon did his.
Damon swished his drink around in the cup, gazing down at me.
I lightly pressed the rim of the cup to my lips, and then took a sip.
I immediately spit it out, making him wince when it all came at him.
I pushed the cup away and stared at it in horror. “What buffoonery, horrific, toxic, bizarre, horrific, terrifying, disgusting, devil-like, vomit-inducing thing is this?!”
Damon just chuckled, drinking his own. “I take it you don’t like it?”
I stuck my tongue out. “I want chocolate milk instead.”
He gazed up then. “Chocolate milk now.”
The bartender nodded and walked off.
I kicked out my legs again.
Until he slid the milk out to me.
I lightly caught it, downing it in seconds.
Damon just smiled, continuing to swish the drink around while watching me.
“I’m never doing that again,” I said then. “It’s disgusting.”
Damon just pulled some hair away from my face, making me gaze up.
He just smiled down at me, tipping his head to the side.
I watched him curiously.
He sighed then, tipping my chin up a little too harshly.
I gasped a little, but he just lowered his face to be inches from mine. “You’re going to make it hard to corrupt you, aren’t you?”
I blinked. “But I’m already corrupted.”
“You’re broken, there’s a difference.”
I just gasped up. “Will corrupting me make it easier to kill me?”
He just smiled, lashes lowering. “No. I just wanna do it for funzies.”
I pursed my lips in annoyance.
He brought his face closer to mine, making me pout.
“Don’t give me that face,” he said then, running his thumb under my chin. “Or I might bite you.”
I gazed up then. “Bite me? Like a vampire? But you’re a werewolf!”
His breath steamed on my face, and his lashes lowered. “Shhh… do you hear that?”
I shook my head.
He just smirked. “I hear complaining.” He gazed down at me fully. “It’s all ‘blah, blah! Alcohol’s to bitter! Blah, blah, I’m such a child!’”
I glared then.
He just released my chin, making me rub it in annoyance. “Come on. The hour is near.”
