I rip my eyes open and dart to my feet half expecting the pale figure to jump out of the shadows and torch me, but he doesn’t and I have to sit back down to calm my throbbing head. I focus on my breathing to distract myself from the pain. The throbbing lessens enough for me to think strait. So what do I know? Well I do know that my parents were murdered. I think sucking in a breath and wrapping my arms around myself. Until a new thought flies into my head. My sister! What happened to her what was her name again? I think straining my thoughts through the pain looking for answers. “Emily” I whisper into the darkness and warmth spreads through my body. If there’s anything I really miss its my identical twin. We have the same soft curly black hair and bright green eyes. She attracts boys like a magnet with one flip of her silky hair but has never dated focusing instead on her school and books. Oh how that girl loves books. I think and I laugh to myself while feeling a smile cross my face, but it disappears just as quickly. What happened to her. I imagine her coming home to nothing and my heart sinks into my stomach as I see Emily, my beautiful happy twin, stuck in foster care or worse an orphanage. “At least she is alive” I whisper bitterly my mind flashing to the pale figure who killed my parents. No, murdered my parents. The one who murdered them. I look down at my arm and realize I have a wound on my wrist a burn. I strangely feel no pain but don’t have any time to think about it because just then a section of the wall shifts creating a door like opening. I stand up and consider going through it before three figures walk through the door. Two of them are covered in long black cloaks with hoods covering their faces they each hold a torch making shadows dance across the room. The other one is the pale figure from yesterday, or was it two days ago. I cant remember but what I do know is that he murdered my parents. I clench my fists ignoring the pain from my fingernails digging into my skin. “Lets get this over with,” one of the cloaked figures says taking a step towards me. “You are going to start working with us, we will train you and make you the best,” I look to the pale figure and even tough he hasn’t talked he still has a wide smile on his bleached face that makes me want to throw up. “Why would I ever work for you.” I spit angrily forcing more disgust and anger into one question than I thought possible. “You obviously didn’t understand what I was implying.” The figure says with a small chuckle that sends shivers down my spine. “It wasn’t a choice Alex. You will work for us,” He says with a menacing step forward. My heart jumps into my throat when the pale figure from yesterday pulls out a small silver crystal from a hidden pocket. I have no idea what it does but knowing what they did to my parents I know it cant be good. “Do you know what this does Alex.” He asks in a sickeningly sweet voice. “No but I bet we could stab it in your skull and find out.” I say not wanting to give into fear. “You have spunk, I love it!” The pale figure says clapping his hands like a little kid. “It will help us when you finally work for us.” He says tossing the crystal in the air before catching it and placing it in his pocket. I rush towards him my fists up ready to fight, adrenaline rushes through my veins as I get closer and closer but the other two figures grab me by the arms before I can reach him. My momentum carries me forward until I’m about a foot away but the figures holding my arms stop me from giving him what he deserves. “I will never work for you!” I scream in his face, rage pumping through my body as I struggle uselessly against the strong hooded figures. “Yes you will.” the figure sneers at me. “You will do whatever we say, i could make you jump over a cliff if i wanted to.” They say shaking their head and staring at me while i struggle before addressing the other two. “I’m done with him.” He says before turning around and disappearing through the opening. The two figure holding my arms shove me to the ground roughly before following him through the opening the door like wall sliding closed behind them. I sit up wincing a bit before sighing and shaking my head. I’m never getting out of here! I sit around for a while before i hear something strange, it sounds like hissing air. I look around trying to find the source of the sound but even after examining the walls I find nothing. Until I look up, when I look up I see sickly green gas floating towards me and my mind instantly flashes to what one of the figures said before he left. “I’m done with him.” I thought he meant he was done talking to me but I must have been mistaken, they’re going to kill me! I think as the poisonous gas floats towards me. I hold my breath as it swirls around my head hungrily as I try to delay the inevitable. I finally run out of air and open my mouth. I can only get a small breeze in and the moment it enters my lungs the green smoke swirls down my throat drying my mouth and filling my lungs. I try to such in air though my nose but the green gas trusts its way up my nose pushing away any air. I fall to my knees as the gas reaches into my brain. it hungrily tears out all my memories with each one that disappears the pain gets excruciating . Tears prick against my eyes as the gas sweeps against them stinging them and scratching them I fall down again now on my hands and knees. The gas swirls around my head making the memory tears larger and larger. Then it rushes out dragging all my memories away. when it gets into the air it evaporated leaving my empty and alone.
