The first thing I notice before I open my eyes is the searing pain knocking around in my skull. I stretch my eyes open and my eyes barley have to adjust. I’m used to the suffocating darkness that surrounds me. Yet every time I open them hoping to wake from this night mare I get disappointed again and again. I look around at the same wall that wraps me up confining me in my spacious dungeon and my memory slap me in the face. This always happens but this time it takes longer and I hope that I wont forget what little I have left.. It has been a while since the first time he experienced the gas yet he still shuddered thinking of it. I barely remember anything anymore. I cant recall my parents face or where I live. I only have one memory left. My name. Alex. Well I also have a memory of a face and a name but I feel no connection to her. She has black hair and light green eyes. She looks beautiful but I don’t know her, I only know her name. “Emily” Whenever I say it into the darkness it is comforting but I don’t know why. the name fells familiar on my tongue but not to me, to the old me maybe but… I don’t remember why I’m here or where here is. At that moment a wall starts moving and a figure dressed in a black cloak steps through the opening. The cloak is long like a cape with a strange symbol on the side of the hood which i notice because she is not facing me. “Alex come. Its time to go.” It says in a soft feminine voice. “Why, who are you and where am I?” I ask standing up and hoping for answers. “All of your questions will be answered but I need you to come with me. You will be safe I promise.” She says in a soothing voice. She takes me through the doorway and I hope I don’t have to see that cave ever again. As we walk through the stone walled tunnels I ask question after question. Each of them getting an answer. “Where am I,” Is the first one.
“In a cave, a safe place where you will get taken care of.”
“Who are you?”
“I am Andrea Walton, and I work here”
“What do you mean work here?”
“I work here. I help them reach their goals and i do whatever they ask.”
“Who is them?”
“Alex, I know you are curious but you need to stop asking so many questions” Andrea says stopping an grabbing me by the shoulders “Others want to hurt you, but we will keep you safe, you will train with us and maybe even become one of us.” She says before leading me through a couple more hallways in silence. “This is your room, you will stay here and in the morning someone will come to get you. Do you understand?” I nod and she leaves shutting the metal door behind he. I look around my new room. There’s a bed with a couple blankets and some pillows against one wall and beside it is a nightstand with a lamp. On the other side of the room is a plain dresser and when I open it it has many clothes. Then I look to one of the other walls and see two doors. I walk through one and am surrounded by tunics of every color and along the back of the small walk in closet is a row of cloaks the same cloaks Andrea was wearing. I finger the cloth before remembering the other door and walking out of the closet and shut the door softly behind me. I crack the second door open and realize its a bathroom. It has a sink a toilet and a shower with a clean white towel sitting on the top of the toilet. As soon as I see the shower I run to it step inside and turn it on clothes and all. I sigh happily as I feel the warm water streak down my face. I cant remember how long its been since my last shower but for the moment I don’t care. After getting thoroughly soaked I strip of my clothes and try to make myself smell better. I clean my hair extra well because of the dust caked on it. I finish my extremely long shower and dry myself off wrapping a towel around my waist and wandering over to the closet to find something to wear. I find a tunic, pants and throw on one of the cloaks I saw Andrea wearing. I walk around my new room half wondering if its a dream, if it is i never want to wake up. I sink into my bed and sigh. This was way better than the floor. The last thing i see before drifting to a dreamless sleep is the face of Emily, and I realize I need to know who she is and why she is the only thing I remember.
