With Argill and Nagi gone, everyone is brought back to the sunken ship’s dimension.
“Why are we back here again?” June wondered.
“Remember how Nagi cursed us? She put a curse on Davy Jone’s ship. That curse is the reason why this ship sunk to the bottom of the sea, people always call the bottom of the sea “the Davy Jone’s locker”. With Nagi gone, the curse will come to us soon,” Alice said.
“I feel something creeping below us,” Marta said and looked down.
Everyone sees a shadow creeping under their feet.
“It’s the curse. It’s coming!” June said.
The creeping shadow forms into a giant shadow monster with a fearsome grin and looks at Alice and the others.
“What a huge monster,” Marta stammered upon seeing the monster.
“Let’s lift this Davy Jone’s sunken ship curse,” Alice said.
“I agree...,” Vine said.
June steps forward. “I don’t think my sword can hit this monster,” she said with a doubtful look.
The monster screamed loudly at them.
“Wind Cutter!” June sent two sharp wind waves from her sword.
The shadow regenerates after the sharp waves cut one of its arms.
“It regenerates??” June shocked.
“The only thing that can stop it is magic associated with the light but I haven’t fully mastered this kind of magic yet. Marta, can you use light magic?” Alice looked at Marta.
“I can’t use light magic. All this time, I have learned fire, water, and thunder magic so far...Sorry...,” Marta apologized.
“Maybe I can try, I came across a light magic while I was reading a spell tome. Before I read the book about sirens with Vine, I managed to read the spell tome for my training,” Alice said.
“We will figure out the solution. I will distract it,” Vine reverted back to the original form.
Vine opens his wings and distracts the monster.
“I never thought that I will face a curse-type monster. Come and face me! Hiyah!” Vine did a piercing flying kick covered in blue flame.
His blue flame affects the monster and it turns its head angrily toward Vine.
“Oops, now I made it angry,” Vine stepped back.
The monster swings its big hand below Vine’s feet. Vine jumped from its swing attack using the wings.
“I had a feeling that he tried to make me lose my balance. I’m lucky that I can fly,” Vine said.
While the curse monster focuses on Vine, Alice closed her eyes while carrying a prayer bead.
“I never did this kind of ritual before but...I will do it! Here I go, in the name of God, thy asked for thy assistance in this exorcism. Light of Banishment!!” Alice shouted the name of light.
The monster was about to end Vine’s life when a ray of light shone from above. Everyone shielded their eyes from the blinding light. The shadow monster screams as the light shine on it and disappears. Everyone puts down their hands and looks at the ship.
“Was that successful? I hope that curse never came back again,” Alice said with uncertain look on her face.
“You did it, you used the prayer in using light magic,” Marta said.
“What do you think? I haven’t mastered the light magic fully so yes, casting a light magic using prayer was more effective,” Alice admitted.
“I thought I was going to die by the monster’s hand,” Vine breathes in relief.
“I saved you for the second time, didn’t I?” Alice extended her hand on Vine.
Vine takes her hand and she pulls him up.
“It’s over,” June said.
Alice notices a spirit standing on the ship deck, looking at her from afar.
“Davy Jones is here,” Alice said.
Everyone looks at the spirit and the dimension rift pulled everyone out.
“Not again,” Alice said.
June carries everyone out from the sea before they ran out of breath. The aged sailor walks out from his cabin and sees Alice and the others in an unconscious state and brought them to his cabin immediately. Alice wakes up and realized that everyone is in an empty. She tries to wake Vine and Martha but they slept soundly. She comes out from the cabin and sees the sailor sitting with his eyes closed. The sailor wakes up upon hearing Alice’s footsteps.
“Ye awake, lassie?” The aged sailor asked.
“Yes, I thank you for earlier. We fell unconscious after coming out from the water. If you hadn’t found us, I couldn't imagine what will happen to us,” Alice said.
“Your friend...What’s his name again, lass?” the aged sailor asked.
“Are you talking about Blue Vine?” Alice said.
“He is a monster, isn’t he?” the aged sailor asked.
“So you saw his true appearance. Well, what will you do now? You’re not going tell on anyone about us, are you?” Alice asked the aged sailor.
“Naw, lassie. This old seadog won’t tell anyone about I saw,” the aged sailor shook his head.
“Well, then I’m going to tell you about us. This is a secret that I will only tell to you, mister,” Alice said.
“This seadog is listening,” the aged sailor said.
Alice leans her back a bit backward despite no object behind her.
“Blue Vine is what I would call a Valkyrie. I found him on my last journey. 5 days ago, something dragged me from my village into the Night world after I wake up from a nightmare. A world of endless night without the light of day and several humans survive in that world as they fear the night monster coming at them. Spirits, wolf, crow, shaman, and Valkyrie type of monsters exist there. I admit...Blue Vine is one curious Valkyrie. Despite being feared by Human, he kept following me even though he knew that I’m a Human. I saved his world from the Poltergeist, the one behind all the terror within the Night world. The defeat of Poltergeist caused the way back to my world to appear in the Night Realm. I thought that I would return to my world alone but it seems that Vine was brought to my world too. The villagers accepted Vine as one of us and he stayed in my village until now. At least he was happy,” she told everything that happened.
“Aren’t ye afraid of him, lassie?” the aged sailor asked her.
“No, why should I fear him? Besides, he never meant any harm to us and we have no prejudice against him,” Alice lifted both hands midair with shoulder shrugged.
“What about you, Alice? Who are you?” the aged sailor asked her.
“(Sigh) I can’t avoid fate, can I? Okay, I will tell you who I am,” Alice said.
Alice sits on the chair in front of her and takes one deep breath. “I came from the 20th century...I didn’t come here using my own magic because...Something brought us to this era. I remembered a hidden force pulling us and the next thing I knew, I was in the 19th century. Marta and I lived in a village called Magi Village, it’s the only village where magicians live in peace and harmony among different magicians. I learned time magic while Marta learned the hidden element of nature as her magic. She managed to learn three elements in her lifetime consist of thunder, fire, and water. There is a magic called Barrier but all magicians in the village have learned this kind of magic since they were born as it was crucial for self-defense. Aside of time magic, I managed to learn ice magic,” Alice explained.
“Ice? You froze the water?” the aged sailor remembered the frozen water.
“Well, yes...we found a giant squid called the Kraken. I froze the water because Marta used thunder magic on the Kraken earlier. If I didn’t freeze the water, anyone touching the water would get the shocking effect of Marta’s magic. Even fisherman would get shocked from his fishing rod in the water,” Alice admitted.
“What about Vine?” the aged sailor asked.
“Vine? No, he didn’t learn any magic. Instead, he practiced martial infused with elements of nature. I found the sunken ship of famous Davy Jones and fought its curse that formed into a monster. Vine attacked it with blue flame infused charging kick while flying,” Alice explained.
Marta and Vine wake up. They walk out of the room and notice Alice explaining what happened.
“Ye finally wake up. This Alice explained everything that happened. I’m proud of youngsters like you. This seadog won’t tell anyone what happened. This is just between us,” the aged sailor said.
“Thank you, sir,” Vine said.
Alice stands up from her chair. “We are taking our leave now. Time for us to get back to our time,” Alice said.
Alice waves goodbye at the aged sailor and goes out from his small wooden cabin.
