As soon as the two finished reading, Alice heard Vine calling their name.
“That was Vine’s voice! Let’s hurry!” Marta said.
“Wait, hold up!” Alice followed Marta quickly.
Alice and Marta feel a quake in the ship.
“Yikes, an earthquake! We better hurry!” Alice ran quickly.
Alice and Marta arrive on the ship’s deck. A giant grey squid with big orange eyes and black pupils looks at them from the rift. The squid is swimming outside the dimension with a screeching sound.
“What the heck is that thing????” Marta pointed at the huge figure.
“It’s Kraken!!!” Alice screamed.
“That giant squid cannot enter this dimension yet it attacked us from the outside,” Marta said.
“Is that possible?” June asked.
The squid screeches loudly and begins slamming its tentacle on the dimension’s border.
“This dimension has a border that separates the existence between this realm and the real world. What happened to the border outside the dimension affect the inside too!” Alice explained.
“We have to stop that thing!” Vine said.
“But we can’t breathe outside. Outside is the sea, remember?” Marta reminded.
“Damn, we can’t do anything at this state. Think!” Alice tried to think of a way.
The squid’s attack causes the inside of the dimension to crumble.
“I will do it!” June rushed ahead.
“June, wait! You can’t get rid of the Kraken alone!” Vine tried to stop her but failed.
“Hmrph...,” Alice kept thinking.
Alice remembers something about changing the appearance and ability of its target.
“That’s it!” Alice put her fist on her hand.
“What is it? Did you figure something out?” Vine asked.
“I remembered a magic that can help us breathe outside. Not sure if it would work since I never tried this magic but...it’s better than nothing,” Alice said.
Alice remembers that it was called transformation magic that transform the appearance and ability of the magic target according to its caster. Vine and Marta gather closer to Alice.
“Here we go. Transformation magic!” Alice cast the magic on them. A blinding light surrounds the three and when they open their eyes, their appearance has changed.
“I’m a siren,” Marta inspects herself.
As a siren, Marta has blue skins and scales with the torso of a sea snake-like June. Unlike June, Marta has no hair and the back of her head is covered with random wide fins.
“Hiss...grrrowl! (Why am I a sea lizardman???)” Vine is shocked but unable to speak a word as a monster.
Vine’s voice appears as a growl that he didn’t realize it himself. Vine has the appearance of a lizard man with fins, his skin is covered with scales and he has greenish-yellow reptilian eyes. Alice sees herself as a fish-man. She has scales on her right cheek, fins on her necks, sharp monstrous fingers, fins between fingers. Her torso is covered with bluish-green scales and she notices that she has a tail with fins on it.
“Alice, both your eyes have different colors. Left eye is green and right is yellow, both eyes are like a reptile,” Marta said.
“What? I have double-colored eyes? Oh dear... I thought of us as sea monsters and the transformation magic turned us into random sea monsters. I will need to practice the transformation magic after everything is over,” Alice said.
“Let’s go!” Vine rushed ahead.
“Wait! Are you sure about this?” Marta doubted.
“Let’s just go, Marta,” Alice said.
Both come out from the dimension toward the Kraken. The Kraken swings its tentacle on Marta.
“Look out!” Alice warned.
Marta dodges its tentacle and swims the other way. Alice sees the situation with a slight.
“That was close, the tentacle almost hit me,” Marta said.
Vine swims and slams his tail on the tentacle that hit Marta. Vine’s tail cuts the tentacle in a single slam.
“Unbelievable!” June said.
“My magic only changes our appearance, I don’t think it changed our strength too,” Alice explained.
“That would explain why Vine’s tail is as strong as his normal appearance,” Marta said.
Marta and Alice approach the Kraken.
“Let’s see if this would hurt you, Lightning charge!” Marta covered herself with electricity.
“Oh dear...Freeze the surface, Frost!” Alice turned the sea surface into ice.
The phenomenon of sea surface turning into ice drew the attention of other civilians near the pier including the sailor whom Alice met.
“What happened to the water?” A sailor wondered.
“The water has turned into ice including my fishing hook!” A fisherman shouted as he tried to pull his fishing rod from the ice.
“I hope Alice and the others safe,” the aged sailor hoped.
“Barrier!” Alice covered everyone in her barrier.
Marta shocks the Kraken with her Lightning charge and got slammed by its tentacle in reflex. Alice’s barrier prevented everyone from receiving Marta’s shocking effect.
“Marta!” June shouted.
“Damn you, squid monster! Time freeze!” Alice stopped the Kraken with time magic for a while.
“Hurry and hit it, Vine! My time magic cannot stop Kraken any longer!” Alice said.
Vine blinded one of its eyes while June cut one of the tentacles with her slim sword. When Alice’s time magic expires, the Kraken screamed in pain from losing one of its eyes and tentacles. Marta recovers from the slamming effect and returns to everyone.
“Lucky that we hit it first before the time-stopping effect expired. Alright, I guess it’s my time for action now. This will destroy the Kraken in one hit. Shifting time fold!” Alice cast.
Her magic distorts the dimension.
“What now??” June looked at the distorting dimension.
“Alice, no! Don’t use that magic!” Marta shouted at Alice.
Alice’s magic causes the Kraken to shatter into particles and everyone disappears into another dimension.
“Youch!” Alice appears in a different dimension along with the others.
The sea’s frozen surface turned back into water.
