The next time I woke up I wasn't strapped to a table or a wall.
Thank goodness.
Instead I woke up in what appeared to be the ruins of the lab where they'd held me captive as an experiment.
I must have been out for a long time, because I didn't recognise any of it.
Well, at least I was free at last.
I looked to my right and saw a pretty girl, about my age, with fiery red hair and azure blue eyes.
She was wearing a black combat suit, tall leather boots and a leather jacket - all in black.
She held a pistol on one hand and the other was around her waist. She was stood right at the edge of the cliff with the wind blowing through her hair.
I walked up next to her and stood there.
I didn't say anything.
I just looked out to the horizon and surveyed the wasteland before me.
There seemed to be on sign of life down there whatsoever.
As if there had been a nuclear explosion there.
Somehow I knew we were in America.
Or at least what was left of it.
And I knew that this was only the beginning.
The beginning of the Robot Uprising.
