Now this will cover both chapters of 8 and 9 since they play into the other like a 2 parter.752Please respect copyright.PENANA2soltqJZoJ

> Storyline: Chapter 8: A short time later Nekeo and Kioshi have made their way to the school shrine site. After discussing with his neighbor, and rescuing her small dog from becoming a cat toy, the pair enter and some sweet bonding begins to happen. However this is ruined by the very people Kioshi has been seeking. They reveal how they learned Kioshi was searching for them and drop another bombshell of information. A rift is struck between the lovable cat demon and Kioshi, ending in an order Kioshi previously questioned to why anyone would ever use it.752Please respect copyright.PENANA1K92VvGcxm

Chapter 9: Nekeo tries to explain his case to Kioshi who isn't hearing of it. He's blinded by rage and is ordering the command be done faster which isn't happening. Nekeo explains his past and why he saved Kioshi that day 4 years ago. This is no comfort to Kioshi who is not moved by Nekeo's tears or words, only more infuriated. It's not until he's shown the light does he manage to take back the order, saving his friend. They share a touching moment until a new face enters the scene and Kioshi by the end makes a choice that leaves only one being happy.752Please respect copyright.PENANASGE2JV7CW8

> Visual: The detail in both chapters is wonderful as before and the expressions are amazing. The level of emotion on the faces is amazing. The backgrounds are beautifully detailed. The look of the school memorial site is lovely to look at. The plaques being up with the photograph and names listed are very nice touches that add to the showing of the site being sacred. I had loved the lilies in chapter 8 and the way the tone was handled with darker shades with more intense moments for a character.752Please respect copyright.PENANACpXLNfxdNq

> Characters: We meet three new characters these chapters as well as see the type of demon Kireina is. First we get to meet the old lady who tried to kill our main character's back in chapter 2 along with her dog. Miss Hada does seem nice enough but looks are deceiving. Second we get to meet those responsible for the bombing, at least a couple and a demon. One member of Kanashimi stays quiet as the human woman does the talking with her demon servant Kurushimi at her side. She has a wonderful energy about her that, to me, was very likable despite the fact she's with the bomber group. Lastly we meet is Lucifer, a very full of himself, and for good reason, God of the demon realm. Even though Lucifer is the bad guy, I just love this guy. He's so cocky and has such an ego it's just awesome because he can back it up. I love how he interacts with Kioshi including his glare, just, oh that glare~. I also enjoyed how Hisao stepped up and got Kioshi to open his eyes to see what he was doing. He stopped Kioshi from giving Kanashimi one thing they wanted and from causing himself more grief.752Please respect copyright.PENANAZcu9g0GsUJ

None of them felt out of character. Kioshi's anger was reasonable because he hadn't really moved forwards pass the past, so when he learned about Nekeo's little secret his anger and reaction felt legitimate. I felt so bad for Nekeo, seeing him cry while trying to explain himself even though it's clear Kioshi isn't going to listen to reason. I enjoyed how calm the woman was through this after she initiated Kioshi's blind anger. That was just cold but also brilliant to use his own emotions against him to turn him against his own demon. The movement and interactions felt fluid to me and I loved, even though heartbreaking, Kioshi forcing himself to give Nekeo up while thinking it would be best for Nekeo despite the feline protesting this decision.752Please respect copyright.PENANAkuOkIVagn3

> Impact: Oh my goodness these two chapters were emotionally pulling! It started out so sweet and nice with some humor at the expense of the old woman's dog. I adored the sweet bonding between Nekeo and Kioshi at the shrine and how Nekeo opened up a little about his parents, even showing Kioshi the picture of him as a kitten. It was so sweet and then the tension strikes. Oh the tension was well maintained and the anger outburst was nicely progressed. It felt within reason that Kioshi would be mad and blow his stack after learning Nekeo had been keeping secrets, while excluding that he too has been keeping secrets of his own. Hisao stepping in added both comedy as well as a wakeup call for Kioshi and the tension, though lighter, I could still feel in the air especially when Lucifer showed up. I was sad and happy all at the same time by this two parters end.752Please respect copyright.PENANAWAifcdFV2p
