Hermione was banging her head against the wall. She'd gotten detention because of Harry and Ron. Lily chuckled lightly to herself as she watched from the corner. She had excluded herself from the depressing group.
"Hey," Someone asked.
Lily looked up, and saw a blonde boy leaning over her. She stood up.
"Hey. What's up?"
The blonde smiled, and stuck out his hand. "Keith. Keith Myers. And I'm doing fairly well."
Lily shook his hand. "Lily Potter. "
Keith nodded. "I know. You're quite the celebrity."
Lily rolled her eyes. "It's just because I'm a Potter. It's annoying really."
Keith laughed lightly to himself. Lily eyed him.
"What?" She asked.
He shook his head. "It's the fact that you know only half of the reason why. There are more, but It's mainly because you're a spitting image of your mother."
Lily looked at him in surprise. "What?"
Keith nodded. "Yeah. You look just like the Lily Evans Potter herself."
Lily smiled to herself. "Oh. I guess it does make sense. After all, I am her daughter."
Keith opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by Hermione who came rushing towards Lily.
"Lily! Help me. The boys are bullying me about Crookshanks, again- Oh. And who might you be?" She said, forgetting about Lily.
"I'm Keith."
"Hermione Granger."
Lily looked between the two. "Uh, okay, so Hermione, what was it that you wanted to ask me?"
Hermione took her eyes off Keith, and turned to Lily. "Yes. I need you over here, now."

After Divination, the four walked to Care of Magical Creatures. As they were walking, a group of Slytherins, led by Malfoy, were snickering behind them.
"Honestly, why did Dumbledore even let this big oaf teach here?" Draco said.
Lily turned around angrily. "Shut your mouth, Malfoy."
He smirked at her. "Oh yeah? And what're you gonna do?"
She turned around, making Draco think she gave up, but then she pounced on him, catching him off guard.
"What the-"
Lily was pulled off by Hagrid, who set her down beside her brother.
"Hey kids! They'll be no fighten' yer hear me?" Hagrid yelled at them.
Lily glared at Malfoy before answering a curt "yes."

The class Hagri had planned today was about Hippogriffs. Hagrid introduced them to Buckbeak.
"Now, Hippogriffs are very proud creatures. So remember to treat them with respect." He kept going on, but Lily tuned him out, and studied Buckbeak. The Hippogriff himself had taken an interest in her, as he glanced at her every few seconds.
"Psst. Potter." Someone whispered to her.
Lily rolled her eyes, already knowing who it was. She turned around, glaring.
"What do you want, Malfoy?"
He smirked. "I bet you're not really a true brave Gryffindor."
Lily crossed her arms, "Oh yeah? And what makes you say that?"
"You're not brave enough to go up to the Hippogriff without respecting it? Eh?"
Lily huffed out angrily. "What the hell? Are you deaf, or haven't you heard that Hippogriffs get agitated when they're disrespected?"
Draco had a smug look on his face. "Exactly, that's why. And I bet, if you're able to do it, I can do it as well."
Lily was fuming at the point. Harry had just gotten off Buckbeak, looking very happy. His hair was more messy than usual. She turned around again to meet face-to-face with Draco.
"Fine."
