“The choosing has begun?! What the hell does that mean?!?!” I yell staring at my arm. I must be seeing things. Then I close my eyes and start rubbing them. When I open them it’s still there. “I’m going insane,” I mutter getting under the covers and going to sleep.
“Rise and shine little brother!” I hear someone yell in my ear. “Not now please,” I groan putting a pillow over my head. “Get up!” Jesse yells pulling the covers off my body. “What’s this on your arm?” She asks grabbing the arm. Jesse looks at me very confused. “I don’t know ok?! It appeared last night!” I yell sitting up. “Ok calm down! We need to make breakfast and the go to school. We can figure this choosing thing out later,” she says. I have random outbursts sometimes and I can’t control them. The only people I want on the other end of that outburst is our parents but they don’t even bother looking at me. Jesse leaves the room and I get changed into my uniform.
When I walk into the kitchen I see the ‘nanny’ pretending to cook. “Oh hello Jason! I was just starting on the toddlers breakfast. Say are they awake yet?” She says in the sweetest and most innocent way she can. I stare her down with daggers and she gulps. “The melatonin again! Really!” I yell walking up to her and slapping her. She stares at me in shock and drops the pan she was holding. “Never can fool you and your wretched sister,” She says with a malicious tone. “Don’t talk about my twin,” I reply with the same tone she did. She looks at me in shock as I grab her neck and slightly start choking her. “Jason! You’re going to kill her!” Jesse yells running up to us. She flung me off the ‘nanny’ who was now gasping for air. “I will be taking a day off,” The woman said grabbing her purse and walking out the door. Jesse looks at me then starts cooking eggs. I messed up again. “I’m sorry,” I apologize grabbing my phone and earbuds. The song ‘Devil Town’ by cavetown starts to play. Thank you Spotify for randomly shuffling a song that is completely right. That thought was as sarcastic as can be. Jesse puts a plate of scrambled eggs in front of me and I start to eat. We don’t speak at all and once we finished we go outside and I start driving us to school.
When we arrive and get out the car I spot Clove by her Jeep with… the dude that cut her engine?! I walk over to her quickly, leaving Jesse behind. “Hey Clove! Get your Jeep fixed?” I ask ignoring the other dude. “Yeah! Dean felt super bad! He said that he just wanted to talk to me but couldn’t find a way how. He even paid for the damages!” Clove exclaims happily. I smile and nod at her slightly jealous but decide it doesn’t matter. “Hey can I show you something?” I ask. Clove nods and I walk to behind the car she follows but Dean does not. I show her my arm once we stop. She gasps and shows me her arm too. It’s says the exact same thing. “Dean! Come over here!” Clove yells back to Dean who quickly runs up. He looks at our arms and then shows that his is the exact same…
