I love rainy days. The sound of the rain beating against the roof, the turbulent rush of water in the stream across from my window. And then there's the cold playful winds, howling through the trees, between the houses, sometimes a raging growl others a satisfied sigh. There are a few things you can do on rainy days to pass the time that are more enjoyable than sunny days. Sometimes I'd lie on my bed and listen to the rain and wind, I'd doze off too, the sounds are just so soothing. It doesn't matter the time of day, or if I've just woken up, rain beating against the roof is the best lullaby.
If it's raining cats and dogs there really are three best ways to enjoy the day, lying in bed with a good book, possibly a cup of cocoa, maybe some marshmellows. Another is to take a stroll, no umbrella, just walk through the rain, let the drops hit you however the wind decides. Soaked to your undies, but it is a wonderful feeling just being in the rain, like all the world is yours, a quiet haven. The third, possibly my favourite, watching the water race by in the stream. The heavy rains raise the water level, making rapids round the stones, and waterfalls out of the dips. Sometimes debris will come rushing down the stream like a kayaker, its always fun to watch them crash into the rocks.
Of course, some rainy days it's more a drizzle than full torrential rains. On dribbly drizzle days I'd sit and watch the drizzle, you can almost count the drops as they fall, like first snow. The soft fall of the rain, and rise of mist gives the place an ethereal feel.
Personally, if I've got the time and the rain changes pace all day, I'd do all of the above.188Please respect copyright.PENANAZFl7brbPgY
