When the first announced inter dimensional travel. People thought it was a prank. Who would think that the ability to travel across worlds of sorts. Into the land of sunshine and fairies. A place where you can meet dwarves and elves. That changed when they asked for volunteers it started with people wanting to live out their fantasy dreams. After some were rejected for “lack of physical capability” that’s when things got serious, that’s when I joined.
That’s how I found myself in a full HazMat suit and about to be separated atom by atom then rebuilt in another plain. The Elemental Plane of Air. I took what could very well be my last breath.
“Do it”
I-I’m alive holy fuck I’m alive!! It worked. I am the first ever human on this plan of existence and I’m alive!... and there are people? I think. There was also a wall so they’re advanced-ish. Before I could study the humanoid figures more though, I heard a crackle in my earpiece then I heard
“Hello… are you alive? Has the mission succeeded…oh ummm over” the lead scientist asked
“Yes, I am alive, I’ve made it to the other side. There are some humanoid creatures in sight I’m going to see if there hostile over.”
“Ok then you do that…over”
I rolled my eyes at the idea at those scientists are my boss. Then I called out to what must have been the third thing I’ve seen they look to be patrolling the wall. I raised my hands then walked out of the shrubs I was hiding in on shouted
“Hello sir, I come in peace, please don’t harm me”
He jumped impossibly high, and that when I noticed he has no leg! I was shocked. I was thinking on how that was biologically possible. When I was blowen away by my thoughts screaming “HOW DID YOU GET HERE!”

“wa-was that you?” I asked still recovering for my mind assaulting itself when the cloud man came up and spoke a foreign language. After looking at my face and seeing my confusion he nodded.
“Could you not be so loud!” I asked frustrated, after a moment of pause the guard spoke.
“I’m sorry for my earlier reaction, you gave me a fright when you jumped out from behind the bushes, I’ve never seen anyone one like you before, the closest thing you look like is jinni.” He remarked
“What are jinni?” I asked
“Someone like you, but taller. And probably stronger, anyway what brings you too this realm?”
“Oh yes! I came here from a similar realm hoping to make peace” I said indulging his question
“Ahh yes, the material plane. I haven’t met someone from there in thousands of years!”
“I wasn’t the first?” I asked once again confused
“No no no, far from it the first people who made contact with us called themselves Arabs”
“Like the people with the genie myth?” I asked
“Yes, though as you can see, I am not quite a myth. Also, you could work on your pronunciation” the genie responded
“Oh! Umm ok so… what is it your guarding?”
“Not what. Who, that would be the consular”
“Oh, ok could I see him?”
He gave a nod, and we went on are way. He led me around the towering walls till we reached the entrance. Inside the walls where a beautiful courtyard decorated with elegant trees and shrubs, it had what I assumed where servants running around carrying foods and clothes. Past the courtyard was the main building it had a massive! Ceiling with windows more than twice my hight. On the wall stood portraits of well-dressed figures who I assume to be the previous occupant. Then we make are way to the dinning or living area, it’s hard to tell. There were three individuals all a staggering 15 feet tall in the room. They were gambling or so I think the guard that was escorting me cleared his throat to get the attention of those in front of me.
Those at the table looked down at me. Their expression conveyed surprise, after a conversation with the genie beside me, they spoke in a booming voice “ah human huh? Haven’t seen one of you in a long, long time! What bring you here human?”
“Oh well as you probably know I came here from the material plain to see what was on the other side” I responded hand on my pistol fearing the worst.
“don’t they all!” one of the genie at the table exclaimed “look, I haven’t met any humans in a while, so I’ll do it.”
“Do…what?” I questioned tightening my grip on the pistol.
“Grant a wish of course! That’s what most of you want… or am I wrong?”
“No, its fine I’d like a wish” I chuckled.
“Well then!” he said while clapping his hands together in delight. “As you can see there are three of us, me, hadi, my wise friend here atiq and my brother inaam. And each one of use can grant you a wish You probably already know the score by now: word it properly or it will backfire, etc. Truth be told, I can't be bothered to get creative, so do us both a favour and wish for something reasonable, yes?” he asked
“Ok, yeah” I said to hadi “why first wish is to have unbelievable amount of riches, gold, silver, emeralds and ruby’s”
“Wow wasn’t expecting that” hadi remarked sarcastically. “But a deal is a deal and waved his hand next thing I know there’s a sack and in it seems to be an endless supply of rare jewels and precious stones.
“Happy?” he asked
“Yes very!” I said delighted with my newfound wealth. I then turned my head to the second genie inaam “I would like to have strength beyond that of any human!” I exclaimed excitement running true me
“You’re turning out to be a very predictable human” he said while waving his hand bringing the wish into reality
Now with my final wish I turn to atiq “I would like all the knowledge the universe has to offer”
Mirroring the others actions he waved his hand before my mind exploded with pain… and knowledge too.
I turned to each of the genies in turn and thanked them profusely for their gifts in their native langue I then walked out of the mansion to the place I arrived at my trip complete I asked to be transported home
After a pause I hear a “roger that, over” before I was transported back to earth. Upon my return I was crowded by scientist asking what it was like and doctors checking my vitals. I told my “account” of the trip. But it was completely fabricated. I rushed out of the building as quickly as possible hoping no one notices my sack filled with goodies. I took the first bus showed up, never to be seen again… I’m going to make myself a new, more luxurious life
I sat on my expensive couch in my silk robs surrounded by severs who provide for my every need. I never have to trouble myself again. But for all my wealth, my strength, knowledge.
I never felt so sad
