Darkness.
That's all I could see. That's all my life was. And now it was slowly consuming me too..
Just kidding. I just can't sleep as usual, and since my friends are both fast asleep, the lights are off. After classes, I came straight back to my dorm and studied for sometime. And once I was finally done, around 11pm, I just reheated some leftover fries for dinner and began studying the mission.
Ivan was impossible to study. How am I ever supposed to accomplish this mission? Do I even have to do it? Well, of course you do, Nyx. Stop thinking stupid things. It's just... Usually all my victims have been guilty of something or another.
So their elimination is kinda justified, when you think about it. But in this case, I have no idea why everyone is after Rudolf. Does he even know that there's a bounty for 50,000,000$ on him? I'm not even exaggerating the figures. I went on dark web earlier today and saw this.255Please respect copyright.PENANA0hgYbHYZDC

And right now, at 2:53am, I was still thinking about it. Why does this always happen to me? It's the first time I can't focus on the job that needs to be done. My mind keeps wandering off to look for reasons why it has to be done.
I took in a deep breath, and got outta bed. Beatrice and Amelia were still asleep, so I decided to put on some sneakers, grab some cigarettes and my phone, and tiptoed outside to head to my spot on the roof.
It's basically my safe haven.
Once I reached my spot, I just laid down, staring at the cloudy sky. The moon was hiding under the blanket of clouds. Great, now it's like darkness is following me everywhere I go. If only Matthew was here... He'd know how to make me feel better.
"H-hey, Matthew.... I know it's late, and that you're probably sleeping right now, but I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry." I sigh. I hope he's still not pissed about me blocking him for so long. "I should've unblocked you a long time ago... But it wasn't until today that I discovered whom I was working with." I admit.
"I really need your advices now. Please call me ASAP. I really am sorry." I frown. "Love you." I say, hanging up, feeling really empty for some reason. I miss him so much. Sure, we fought a lot, and he was really annoying too... But at least I had someone.
To forget about my feelings temporarily, I lit up a cigarette and slowly inhaled the toxic fumes. I know it's not good for me, and personally, I find it kinda gross too at times. But I only smoke when I really really don't wanna deal with the reality.
When I'm desperate to escape.
"Smoking kills... You're aware of that, right?" I quickly shot up, and performed a sweep kick before ever looking at who it was. It was more of a reflex at this point not gonna lie. "What the actual fuck wrong with you?!" The familiar angry voice of the Russian dude.
Shit- did he come to kill me?!
"I'm sorry, I thought you were a rapist or something!" I quickly apologize, playing dumb to not provoke him into killing me sooner. "Shut up... God, you're so weird." He groans, clutching the back of his head that he hit on the ground when I swept him off his feet.
"You don't even know me." I roll my eyes, not appreciating the way he talks to me all the time. "And I don't even want to." He scoffs, sitting up now, a few feet away from me. "Then why'd you follow me here?" I raise my brows at him, slowly putting my hand in my pocket and clutching my dagger.
"Don't flatter yourself too much, princess." He rolls his eyes, calming down a little. "I've been coming here every night for the past 2 years now." He explains. "So technically you're the one stalking me." He raises his brow at me.
"YOU don't flatter yourself that much. I've been coming here every day for a week, and I never saw you here before." I shrug. He doesn't reply, and just lies down, staring at the bright moon, as the sky cleared up now.
Wow... It went dark the moment I came here, but cleared up the moment he came here. No fair.
"Look, I'm sorry, okay? I didn't mean to give you a mild concussion." I sigh, smoking some more. He still doesn't reply. I was about to extinguish my cigarette and just leave him alone, when he just extended his arm towards me, holding up a cigarette.
I just tilted my head, giving him a confused look. "Light it up." He commands, and for some very strange reason, I complied. I got out my lighter, and lit it up, inching a little closer to him. He sat up too, staring at the sky still.
"So, does this mean we're cool?" I ask him nervously. "No." He replies coldly. How can anyone ever say one word ever so coldly? "Okay..." I mumble awkwardly. "You wanna uh, maybe smoke your troubles away and talk about how shitty life it?" I suggest after a minute of awkward silence.
"No." He said, staring dead in my eyes. His enigmatic grey eyes bore into mine, devoid of any expression. "O-okay." I nod quickly, really intimidated by his presence. "So you wanna just uh, smoke in silence?" I then ask, trying my best to not keep things awkward. He just looks at the sky now, not replying, but conforming it.
"Sure... Works with me."
