Ok, on with the story.
You had just moved to a different town in order to be closer to your college. The town was beautiful, but it was the first time you’ve lived completely on your own.
After relocating all of your belongings to your new apartment, you decided to take a look around the town you’d be living in for the foreseeable future.
Walking down the sidewalk looking at all the storefronts and colorful flowers, you spotted a cozy looking book store and walked happily inside.
You probably spent a good two hours in there, leafing through old pages and walking in between the shelves. In the end you only bought one, since you were on a college budget. You decided you’d read it on your little balcony, maybe grab a snack and a fun drink to make it special. With that peaceful scene playing in your mind, you headed home.
The lock to your door clicked and you swung it open.
”Home sweet home,” you shrug, dropping your stuff on the couch and grabbing your book.
Out on the balcony, you had made the perfect little reading setup. A cute chair and the drink, your phone playing some jazzy piano tunes and a book in hand. Since it was the middle of August, the air was warm and carried fragrant smells.
All was still and right in the world on your little balcony.
Out of nowhere came a jabbing screech and a shhhhhuk sound, which made you lose your place in your book, coming from a window being opened. You look to you right and see… Cue Video!
You almost dropped your half drunken lemonade when you saw the guy step out on his balcony. He was gorgeous, no doubt about that. Then he looked at you!
Oh crap, you had no idea what to say…
He smiled and walked to the closest side of the railing to you.
“Hello, I’m Manuel. Are you new here?”
”U-uh… Yep.” You introduced yourself and walked over towards him.
”Apologies if I interrupted your quiet moment, the balcony is just one of my favorite spots to be.” He had an accent, probably Spanish.
You talked for almost an hour before you reluctantly said you had to go, not wanting to keep him too long.
“Alright, have a good evening. Hope to see you more often new neighbor.” He said giving you a wink.
Hm, things are definitely looking up.
