The Impact of Social Media on Society
So, I'm not against social media, I myself enjoy some funny animal videos every once in a while, but it becomes an issue when it becomes an addiction. I have several problems with it, actually, my number one problem being the worldwide popularity contest that it has become. The creators of these apps are encouraging kids to grow up faster as well... when I was a kid, I don't remember ever worrying about how many followers or likes I had, or having to make sure my hair and makeup was always perfect, just so I could at any time take a selfie and look great, and because it's become a popularity contest, so many more kids, ones who don't think they measure up to social media's standards, are committing suicide or hurting themselves because they don't feel good enough about themselves. Another problem I have with it is the fact that social media also exposes people, and not in a good way. If a stalker or human trafficker wanted to know anything about you, they could, just by looking at your bio on TikTok, Insta, Snapchat, or even Facebook. Basically, all I'm saying is, social media isn't inherently wrong, it's quite entertaining, but our society would probably be better off without it, definitely more productive.193Please respect copyright.PENANAhyvHuQAg8l
