Amelia always goes to the massive bookstore in her town to read after school. It started like usual with her walking around, looking at the sections, and skimming through new arrivals. While Amelia was doing her usual looking around, she noticed something peculiar. There was a glowing red light coming from the end of the bookstore. She approached the light with caution but was surprised to see that it was a book. Amelia was puzzled but she took the book off the shelf. She noticed it was a fantasy adventure story, her favourite. The title read: The Adventures of Xander.
This could be interesting, Amelia thought. As she opened the book a bright red light surrounded her. Amelia started to panic and tried to close the book. Much to her dismay, it wasn’t closing! Amelia screamed with her last breath as the light fully engulfed her. Then, she was gone.258Please respect copyright.PENANAahqiyhvkPA

Amelia appeared in a cold, dimly lit shack, surrounded by people with grim expressions. Looking down, she saw she was no longer wearing what she’d been wearing in the bookstore. Her skirt and sweater were gone. In their place was a pair of black jeans and a black tank top. She didn’t even know if she was a ‘she’ anymore. She stood up and asked, “Where am I?” Her voice was deeper than it was normally. A man in the back of the shack yelled, “THE LEGEND, IT’S TRUE!” All around eyes turned on Amelia. She noticed for the first time many of the people had guns and weapons meant for fighting. Another man shouted, “Xander has come to free us from our cruel oppressors!” Amelia, confused and frightened, attempted to run to a nearby window but was stopped by a woman carrying a wand.

She stumbled back and fell to the ground. The woman spoke for the first time and the voice sounded familiar. “Listen, Xander, I know this must be confusing for you but you need to listen. You are in the year 2122, and our world is being ruled by the evil house of Gryffindor which doesn’t believe in vaccines, equal rights, or LGBTQ+ rights.”
“Who’s Xander?” Amelia said with even greater confusion. She looked up at the woman from the ground for the first time and noticed the Slytherin emblem on the woman’s shirt. The woman replied, “You. You are Xander. Please help us. You’re our only hope!”
“Ok. I… I can try. I’m not sure what I can do, though,” Xander replied, still extremely confused. “Wait, you’re Pansy Parkinson, aren’t you?” he asked. “Yes, but that’s not important right now. We need you to help us fight back against the house of Gryffindor, or else the last resistance will fall!” Pansy handed Xander a gun and said, “You are our destined saviour. Legends describe a great hero named Xander appearing at the most desperate time to help save the world.” Xander looked around at the crowd who were now all staring at him and noticed that they all were wearing shirts with the Slytherin emblem on them. “If what you’re telling me is true, then I’ll agree to help you on one condition. No guns, no modern weapons, and you have to let me train you,” Xander replied. “But how will we fight?” Pansy said. “I might have an idea,'' he said with a smile.

“99, 100!” Pansy dropped to the ground as Xander said the last number. He had been vigorously training Slytherin house for 2 weeks in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and he finally believed they were ready to fight the Gryffindor people. “Is everyone ready?” Xander asked the crowd. They cheered in response and he knew it was finally time. “Ok, Pansy, can you make a map of the Gryffindor headquarters?” he asked. “On it,” Pansy replied. The map showed a massive castle, which Xander immediately recognized as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. “They took over the school?” he questioned. “Unfortunately,” replied Pansy. “We can’t just march in the front door, then. It will be heavily guarded. We have to find another way.” Xander thought for a moment and then asked, “Do you guys have dragons? We can use them to fly on top of the castle and get inside through the windows.”
“The only problem is that Gryffindor has a massive, mutant Grindylow that can grab flying objects from out of the sky,” Pansy said. “We can use the dragons as a distraction and then you can ride into the castle below on some of the unicorns while the guards aren’t paying attention.”
“Won’t they hear the unicorns?” said Xander. “That’s where I come in,” a voice said from the back of the crowd. Xander turned around to see Draco Malfoy standing behind him with a smile. “If it's ok with you, I have a spell that can silence and make things invisible for a short time.”
“That’s great,” Xander said. “Tomorrow, we ride on Hogwarts to bring justice to this world.”

The next morning, after everyone had been roused, Xander climbed onto a chair and shouted, “Let’s do this!” The crowd of Slytherins hooted and hollered; their energy was electric. Pansy and several other Slytherins flew up into the air on the dragons. The Grindylow attempted to grab them out of the air but missed multiple times. The dragons circled back around to continue distracting them. Just before Xander and Draco mounted their unicorns, a voice shouted from the woods, “Wait!” Xander and Draco jumped back in surprise. Xander was surprised to see the Gryffindor, Neville Longbottom. “Don’t go in this way.” He said, pointing to the side entrance they were planning on going through. “The guards are expecting it. They’re waiting for you. There’s a secret entrance if you climb up the west wall, but you’ll have to ditch your rides,” Neville told them, out of breath. “Where do we go from there?” said Xander. “If you make two lefts you will get into Harry’s throne room. If you can take him out, you can finally free the world!”
“That’s our plan,” Draco said. “Thank you, Neville, we won’t let you down,” Xander said.

Xander and Draco were about to reach the top of the wall when they heard a loud crash. Xander looked around and saw Pansy flying through the air. “No!” he yelled. It was too late. Pansy hit the ground and didn’t stand back up. Xander and Draco both gripped the wall tighter in shock. I won’t let you down, Xander thought to himself. They finished the climb and made the first left when they ran into a guard. They didn’t even think before they both used Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to take him down. They disarmed him and moved on to the second left when they finally reached the throne room. They heard a laugh coming from the throne. “Took you long enough,'' said Harry. “We will destroy you, once and for all,'' Xander said. “I would love to see you try,” Harry shot back, standing from the golden throne he sat on. Draco charged Harry but got blasted backwards. Just as Harry was about to kill him, the three boys heard a loud clang and Harry dropped to the ground. Pansy stood behind him. “Pansy!” Xander said. They hugged and Pansy told her that she had grabbed the resurrection stone as she was falling and used it on herself right before she hit the ground. She’d been wearing the stone on a necklace for years, hoping she would never need to use it. Xander bent down next to Harry and used a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu move to kill him. As soon as word of Harry’s death spread, the fighting stopped. Peace had been brought to the world.

Xander reappeared in the bookstore and picked up the book. He liked that name, it was much better than his old one. He brought the book to the front desk to buy it. “So, Amelia, I’ll see you tomorrow after school, I assume?” the clerk asked.
“I go by Xander now, actually,” said Xander with a smile. “Well then, have a great day, Xander.”
“You, too,” he said, leaving the bookstore. He smiled knowing that he could now relieve his unforgettable memories in the form of the book, and have peace knowing he had saved their world.
