So today, I was walking with Lily to Potions. We walked around a corner, and what do I see? James and Sirius, surrounded by broken bits of suits of armour. McGonagall stood in front of them, arms crossed. “Explain yourselves,” she commanded, gesturing to the armour. “We were studying!” James exclaimed, crossing his arms. “You put on the suits of armour from the third floor corridor, and rode down the hallway on your broomsticks directly into each other whilst shouting ‘charge’. How exactly is that studying?” I looked at Lily, who snickered. Sirius saw the two of us approaching and winked at me. Then, he said, “It was for muggle studies. We were recreating an old fashioned muggle duel horse thing. Remus, you know what I’m talking about.” I looked at lily. “Go on without me and tell Slughorn where I am, please.” She nodded and kept walking. I stopped to deal with… this. “Are you talking about a joust?” I asked. He clicked his fingers. “See? What did I tell you? Come on, Minny, let us off this once.” Then, a few hours after that, I passed Sirius and James while they were in detention. McGonagall was having them clean all the suits of armour. With toothbrushes. Sirius saw me and said, “why do we even have so many suits of armour if we can’t wear them in a joust?” I shrugged with a laugh. “I don’t know, love. Why don’t you go ask Peeves?” I looked up. The poltergeist was sitting up in the rafters, watching Sirius and James work. “Looking at my boyfriend, are you, Peeves?” I shouted up at him. I heard his maniacal laugh as he flew down the corridor. Peeves is so fucking annoying, honestly. Anyway, I gotta go. I’m going to be late for Transfiguration if I don’t leave now.
