About twenty five minutes ago, the following course of events ensued:
I was sitting at the back of the common room with Lily. We had been working on our Charms homework. We look over towards the middle of the room, where Sieius and James are sitting in front of the fireplace. They were talking about something, and Sirius was eating ice cream. Please, PLEASE do not ask me why. Anyway, James said, “Let me try.” Sirius watched in horror as James just ate the ice cream off of his spoon. “What the hell?” Sirius exclaimed, slapping James on the back of the head. “You put your mouth all over my spoon!” James just shrugged. “We’re best mates, we can share germs.” Lily looked at me and scowled. “You want to convince me the two of them aren’t together?” There were two reasons she might be upset by that thought. A, she was secretly crushing on James. And B, I was with Sirius. Either way, I said, “They better not be. I’m currently screwing one of them.” I guess she momentarily forgot about me and Sirius, because she shoved me, almost getting ink on my sweater. My FAVOURITE sweater, mind you. “Remus, you fucking-”
“Not James!” I said quickly. “I am absolutely not screwing James!” James looked over at me, whipping his head around so fast I swear his glasses were going to fly off his face. “You know I can hear you, right, Moony? I don’t want to screw you either!” Sirius made a face and drove his shoulder into James. “And what’s wrong with Moony? Why wouldn’t you want to screw him?” James cast a glance at Lily. Merlin, the two of them need to just get together already. Lily shook her head, looking at me. “What compelled us to associate with such lovable idiots?” I shrugged in reply. “I have been trying to find the answer to that for about five years.” She laughed and went back to her homework. Sirius came to sit by me as I finished up mine. “Well, I just so happen to quite enjoy being a lovable idiot,” he said, kissing my cheek. I smiled, blushing hard. Lily started to laugh. I swatted her with my homework, which only made her laugh harder. Merlin, what did I do to become friends with this group?
