My advice on taking breaks using the stairs as an analogy. I have always stopped to regain my breath when climbing the stairs and to some that may be lazy; but to me I was lucky to know when to take a break. During climbing I had exerted energy and I needed to replenish my energy to continue. In that time, I would stop on my way and look back at the stairs I had climbed acknowledging all that I had completed; which then encouraged me to look forward and motivated me to complete the stairs ahead of me.
The time taken to rejuvenate your body and reenergising your mind, is time spent being proud of yourself each step of my way. Reflecting on your accomplishments and what more you can accomplish too. By taking a break, time hasn’t escaped you but rather you have been aware and present with time to perceive how you’ll spend your upcoming time. Regardless of whether you’re climbing up or down the stairs: you’re climbing, you’re moving, you’re doing something opposed to nothing and in that you’re progressing because you have continued on. Keep the motion but take a break when you need to so you can appreciate the view of your stepping stones merits.
