A story of a man named James Baxter. He regrets not having done all the things he's wanted to do in life, like; he's never smoked or drank, become successful, gotten a job, or found a lover. Feeling hopeless, he walks into a bar where he meets Art Johnson, another man going off to war. Art seems to be the complete opposite of James. He has his whole life together, and seems...motivated...to go off to war. James feels an insane amount of envy for him. Although, maybe envy isn't the only feeling he feels toward Art...
