The Siol were horrified by the failure of their creation. It was apparent that life was fragile and creation of it should be done with the most care. The next one had to be planned much better.
The Asram were driven insane for having nothing to do and living infinitely.
The next one, then, had to end eventually.
So they designed their next life with a sort of "battery" which would grow weaker over time, and eventually end. This was Death.
They also would have to consume energy to restore life and stay alive. This would give them something to do.
The new life was made to be attracted towards a piece of matter, so it could not leave, in order to control it and prevent it from going on a rampage.
It came to life. It was nameless but today it is called Maum. They had two limbs to move themselves across the matter, and an eye, ears and mouth. They were quite slow at moving.
As they placed energy cells, they could see that the Maums would become bored if there were too many, but if there were too few then they would suffer. Further they seemed unhappy because they did nothing but consume life force. Eventually they died, and became extinct, because they could not recreate.
The Siol saw that a lot of improvement had to be made.
It would perhaps be a good idea to limit the creation's intelligence. The intelligent beings would all grow unhappy from having nothing to use their brains for. There were also improvements for how to allow the creation to move across the matter more easily.
They worked on a new version of the Maum, which was given a long tail for movement, and lower intelligence, and finally, the ability to reproduce. If they consumed more life energy than they needed, they could create a new life.
This being was immediately an improvement. They were happier, being simple creatures. Over time, they died out and became sparse. Because of their desire for communication, they started reproducing so they would not be lonely. After a few generations, they gained a natural desire to reproduce.
The problem was that a lot of the young Maums died out because they were small and struggled to move, which didn't let them collect enough energy cells. Their parents did not take care of them. So they would reproduce in massive numbers, but very few survived, and many corpses was left behind all over the ground.
They came up with a solution for the corpses, and created another species. It would eat the bodies and feed on the life force that remained in them. This species was given teeth which allowed it to better bite into the bodies. It also had a long tail, but it's hands were moved to the side, so it could slither across the ground better.
These beings had been given two organs inside to maintain their bodies; a Cracious, which was were their consciousness inhabited, and the Lin, which was where their life energy was stored. For the new, corpse-eating species, they added a new organ, the Diger, which was connected to the mouth, and was an organ that was sharp and jagged on the inside and was able to crush matter and extract all the life force that was in it. They were also made to require the Maum's specific Lin, so they could not survive off life cells. They were placed on the land and lived alongside the Maum, eating their corpses to keep the ground clean. These are now called Beo.
The Siol also decided that rather than feeding the Maum with energy cells, they came up with a way for the earth to generate it's own energy. They created what is known as plants, which had to be life matter in order to create life cells. So these plants, which are now called Mapong, grew all over the ground.
The life force was now no longer endless, but there was only what could be found on the mapong. Now the Maum would begin to run out, which meant they eventually learned to take care of their young, rather than just reproduce endlessly and hope for a few of them to survive. They created Family for the first time.
This world was now becoming self-sustaining. The Siol watched with great interest as they had created something more than just beauty, something that was complex.
