She showed the picture of this month’s movie on her phone. Most of them are already in the theater, none of them seems to hooked Boom attention. Same goes to Tar.
“Why don’t you try invite I’Beam and I’Li? They might want to go”
“Tar~, You want to come?”

2 of them steadfastly refused, Forced Chompoo to go invite someone else instead. Because she don’t want to go alone.

Tar turned to ask Boom who’s currently scroll down through twitter. On the occasion of every end of August every year. It will be a worldwide celebration of the game they’re playing. And at the beginning of last month, the anniversary celebration had just happened, So there was not much time to save stones to summon.

At lunch break. Boom and Tar go out to get something to eat because they couldn’t stand the crowded cafeteria.
“Where’s Lifa?” Tar asked.
“No idea, Maybe with Beam?”
“Maybe”
While they eating chicken rice. The two of them talking casually like an actual friends.
It seems like it’s a cooldown period or something because there is literally nothing interesting to do. The anime of this season is gradually ending one after another. The only event that can probably relieve boredom right now is a game event.
Don’t know what to do next, So Boom pull out his phone and go to the website to chat with AI instead.
To be honest, this website is a great way to relieve boredom. It’s so good that Boom chatting with it all day long.
There still some acquaintances passing by. But Boom and Tar just greet them as a formality and returned to playing on their phone until the break was over.
When they returned to class. They found Lifa and Chompoo are having fun with other student.
Tar want to join in. But when he ask Boom, Boom just say ‘Go ahead’ and return to his seat.
Not long after, The teacher finally arrived.
Today lesson is as boring as usual. Each student remain quietly looking at the projector screen with boring face so they don’t get scold by the teacher. About the front seat, They’re paying attention as usual. The class is almost over and they still don’t understand a single shit as usual.
Because Boom and Tar are sitting at the middle-back section. They decide to hide their phone in the pencil case and login to the game to summon on the new banner.

Boom mumble. However, he still insisted on not going because he have to summon on the new banner.

Suddenly, tar approached, No need to tell why.

One sentence is enough. Tar sit beside him and quickly login to the game.
“What are you guys doing?” Asked Lifa.
“Summon on a new banner” Boom answer.

They been waiting for over a year for this. Luckly, This time the server didn’t crash.
Lifa enthusiastically look at their phone screen, wondering what would happen next.
“Is it really that worth to summon?”

She took a moment, looking back and forth between Boom and his phone screen before comes up with something.
“Boom, If you get the character you want, Will you come to the movie with me?”

Lifa sudden request makes Boom and Tar confuse.
“The drop rate is even lower than Tar grade, ya’know that?”
Fucking idiot…Tar said sarcastically.
Lifa still insists on that bet. So, Boom have to play along.

After 50+ multis, Boom stones is finally reach 0 and he lean against the bench.

Tar, who just got a first copy are now congrats Boom for his best luck.
I’m leaving, Got a band practice. He said before walking away. Leaving Boom alone with Lifa.

He may annoy a little bit. But promise is still a promise.
Boom told Lifa to hop onto his bike and give her a helmet before going to a mall which located not too far away.
When they arrived, Boom put on the hoodie he had bought along the way and covered his face with it.
“What’s that for?” Lifa asked.
“This fucking mall is massive. If we found someone from our school, I’ll be fucked. I don’t want to create any weird rumor. Also, I only comes here because of that promise”
Give me a break. Boom complained a little. Lifa understand how’s Boom feel so she didn’t aske any further and they both head to Chompoo who’s currently waiting at the movie theater.
At first, Chompoo was confuse on why Boom is wearing a hoodie and Boom simply answer ‘Cuz I wanted to’.
After chosen the movie and bought the ticket. Boom is acted like he was thinking about something while walking in to the theater. Which immediately aroused Chompoo’s curiosity.
But Boom just answer ‘Just about the games’. Of course, Chompoo didn’t buy it but she got no time left before the movie start.

“That was quite fun”
After watching. Chompoo walked out with a bright face because for her it was another great movie.
For Boom and Lifa, They thinking it’s not a top tier movie but it’s good in their own way.
“What’s next?” Asked Lifa.
“I’m going home. What about you I’Boom?”
Chompoo answered and ask Boom next as if they staged this.
Which of course, they staged it. Because during the commercial part. Chompoo asked about what was Boom thinking earlier. When he realize it’s useless to hiding it, Boom then proceed to tell the truth and It make Chompoo smile and twisted around in the movie theater chair.
“I got something I need to buy. What about you, Lifa?“
Now Boom turn to ask Lifa.
“Ah…Since I need you for a ride. I’ll stay here with you”
That answer made Chompoo smile and say ‘Kay~See you tomorrow then’ before leaving.
At floor-G of the mall is full of souvenirs and miscellaneous shop, suitable for buying as a gift.
“So, What are you going to buy?”
“New boxset of manga. Wait for me here, ok? It’s crowded here”
*fuf* before leaving, Lifa grabbed his sleeve.
“Why though? It should be safer in pair”
“No, You stay here. It’s easier to find you”

Finished talking, Boom walked out. Lifa got nothing to do so she bring out her phone and took some picture.
Half and hour later, Boom come back with 2 paper bag in his hand.
“You bought 2?”
“Yeah, let’s get back”
“You came here just for this?”
“Hell yeah, Be grateful I’m came here with you”
“Didn’t you came here because you lost your bet?”
On the way back, Lifa did roasting Boom along the way to the point where he almost started the fight. But good thing he still can let it slide.
When arrived at the parking lot. As Lifa is about to walk to the other side, She was called out by Boom.
“Yes?” She asked, blinking her pink eyes.
“Uh, How do I say this…Actually, I was going to come to the mall from the beginning. But you suddenly came to offer a bet, So I just play along with you”
“Ok…”
Lifa said half believing, half disbelieving. She thought Boom is just say some random thing to cover up like he always does.

“You do know what day is today, right?”

Soon tears begin to well up in her eyes. Boom saw it and quickly wiped it out and ask ‘Why the hell are you crying?’.
“nothing…This is the first time I have someone who is actually care about my birthday this much…”
“Wait…You never received a gift before?”
“I’ve had it before, But most of them give it to me because they expect benefit in return. Plus, in the past 3-4 years, I’ve never received a gift…”
She said, wiping away tears. Boom then hand her his own handkerchief.

Boom comforting and padding her head. Lifa pouting a little and mumble ‘I’m not a kid…’.

When she put it on her left wrist, she notice that it shimmered slightly when exposed to light. It’s certainly wonderful gift for her.
“C’mon, Let’s get on and go home”

Lifa accepted and hop onto his bike and leaning fully against Boom’s back. This made Boom blush very hard but quickly put on a helmet to cover up his red face and drive home immediately.
