A few days after Valentine’s Day. Another Event had approached.
The academic day.
For those who don’t know, The academic day is a school event where administrators organize various activities and experiences given to the students. Especially the activities about teaching and learning to make students good people, have knowledge and ability to achieve curriculum goals which will affect the standard and quality of school education.
As simple as that.
“What the hell will we do this year?” Tar asked.
“We’ll sell food. Just like in 8th grade” Boom answered.
Currently, The class is discussing what they should do on the academic day. Everyone agreed that it would be a food stall.
However, What to sell is the problem. Because the menu must be unique, interesting and the ingredients must be stored for a long time.
“I’Boom, any idea?” The class rep asked.
“Nah, No dice, man”
“Well then, We shoul–”
“But don’t do Jelly this time, Jackass. That shit almost made me go insane”
Boom already anticipated what the class rep would say, So he said it first.
“Why though?” Lifa asks out of curiosity. Tar volunteered to answer
Because the Jelly they did back in 8th grade. Took too much time for it to freeze and firm, Boom had to wake up at 3-4 am. to make it and put it in the freezer. Some of them even need to be frozen overnight.
Someone had already argued that they should change because the burden would be on Boom alone. But the class rep was adamant that it needs to be done.
If you ask, Why don’t they go buy the ready-made ones and sell them instead? The answer is simple and short, Because it would be ‘Dishonorable’.
And that’s the worst answer Boom ever heard in his life.
“So, What will we do?”
“Anything but that one”
Finished speaking, Boom then went back to play games.
Tbh, Boom could go help them discuss. But due to the in-game event right now, Boom decided to not go. But he would definitely help in the taste test.
“What’re you playing?” Lifa asked.
“The game that you become a teacher and teach the students to shoot a gun”
‘Here’ Boom, touch the screen to reposition the character. Lifa sit next to him and watches him play.
“No, This would be better”
“No, She’ll die if you make her go there”
“It’ll be fine”
“I’Li, You idiot”
The two continue to lovey-dovey with each other. Lifa snuggled close to Boom’s back and poked at the phone screen as if she’s try to annoy him.
“Trust me”
“I’Li, you freaking idiot”
Boom knows that he is touching Lifa’s chest. But he has to keep his cool or else he would get teased for that.
The others that are watching them, Are miserably screaming causing Boom and Lifa to retreat quickly.
“Please do considerate about us, You bastard” One representation of single people spoke up.

“Alright, We’ll make pad thai this year”
After a long period of time, They finally came to a conclusion.
The reason behind this, Is because it’s a well-known dish. The taste is good. Plus, there’s already someone in this class who can make it.
“What kind of pad thai, exactly?” Chompoo asked.
“Pad thai noodles,” Tar answered.
Pretty advanced, Tbh.
“You still remember how to make it, Boom?”
“Yep” Boom responded.
The ingredient consists of…
-Rice noodles.
-Firm tofu.
-Mince red onion.
-Dried shrimp.
-Duck eggs.
-Mince sweet radish.
-Bean sprout.
-Chinese chive.
-Vegetable oil.
As for the ingredient for the sauce….
-Tamarind sauce.
-Fish sauce.
And palm sugar.
“Bean sprouts, ground peanut and chili powder will be keep separately as an additional option in case people don’t want it”
Boom told all the ingredients he needed. And the reason to keep ground peanut and chili powder separately is because he worries about the customers who are allergic to these things.
“And I need 2 more slaves with me”
“Helper, you dumbass, Helper. Careful with those damn words” Tar scolds him.
It’s kinda ridiculous to have Boom be the only chef. The fact that he wants a slave…Sorry, Helper, is not anything unusual.
However, The problem is that there are more than 50 people in the class. Besides Boom and 2-3 people, No one knows how to cook. Even if they can cook, The taste is absolute garbage.
And their last hope is…
“I’Li, I need your assist”
Lifa, Of course.
“Er…Very well”
“Nice!”
Boom pat Lifa’s head before walking away. Lifa’s turned slightly red.
“You should get used to that, seriously,” Said Chompoo as she left.
There’s still 1 week left before the academic day. Enough time to prepare the ingredients, All that’s left is to practice making pad thai noodles until they have mastered it.

“Yeah, And end with final exam”

After class, Boom and Tar are talking with each other in the cafeteria while eating a spicy mango salad.
There are 3 big events waiting for them. And each event is only a couple days apart, Quite pressure for students.
In addition, Beam is now bedridden at home because she just returned from boy scout camp.
“i gotta go, Band practice”
“Yeah yeah. I gotta go, too. Have you seen I’Li?”
“I saw her at the parking lot, probably waiting for you”
“K”
They both left after talking.
Boom, go to the parking lot. He see Lifa is sitting on his bike, waiting for him.
“Seriously, buddy. Did your butler ever question you when they know I’m gonna drop you by?”
The sudden question of Boom make Lifa slightly startled.
“No, They said If my parents accepted you, They have nothing to say”
“Really?”
Still confused on why they accept him so easily, Boom ignores that thought.
Boom put the kickstand up, handed Lifa a helmet before driving.

“The ingredient, Check. The chef and the helper…Whatever”
In the kitchen of his home, Boom and Lifa are reading on how to make pad thai noodles. WIth Beam as the taster tester+Nelly is also with her.
“Where’s mom?” Boom asked.
“She’s chatting with a neighbor. And dad has to stay at his office today” Beam responded.
Do they ever think of helping their childs at all? Boom thought. But that won’t make anything better, So let’s get started.
Ok, The first step of making pad thai noodles is…
1.Dissolve palm sugar with hot water and set aside.
2.Making the sauce, Using the tamarind sauce and the dissolved palm sugar. Seasoning with the soy sauce, Bring to boil, Wait until it boils, Reduce to heat, Simmer for another 15-20 minutes. And set aside when it finished.
3.Set the stove to high heat. Add vegetable oil. When hot, add duck eggs, Stir quickly. Don’t let them cook too much. Add red onion, Chives, Bean sprouts, Firm tofu, Dried shrimp, Stir well. After that, Soak the rice noodles through the water to prevent them from becoming too rigid. (Just run it through the water. don’t soak it for too long or else the noodles will get mushy). And put the smaller noodles in the pan.
4.Add the pad thai sauce from earlier, Seasoning as you like, Stir well, Add dried Shrimp, Stir again. When it’s done, Scoop it onto a plate and serve.
Boom follows a recipe he found on the internet. With Lifa making the sauce, she seems to do a great job so far.
“So, You do know how to cook”
“Hm…I know how to cook since I was in middle school”
“Sadly, I know how to cook since I was in primary school”
The two quarreled a little. But they’re not mad at each other much. Just Lifa with her typical pouting face and she lightly punches Boom’s arm.
“Look Nelly, The couple is fighting with each other again”
Beam speaks to Nelly as she’s playing with her. Boom then said ‘Shut the hell up, I ‘Beam’ back to her.
And Lifa could only just laugh a little.
After decorating the dish. Boom then serve it to Beam.
“Ok, Let’s see…”
Beam picks up the noodles with chopsticks and eats them. She chewed for a moment before frowning.
“How’s the taste?” Boom asked.
“Who made the sauce, again?”
“Me, Is there any problem?” Lifa answered.
“Um…It’s too salty, Tbh”
“Is that so…Sorry, I messed up”
Lifa’s sadden. Because normally, When Lifa’s cooks, It become saltier than usual. Causing her to mess up while cooking it.
Boom pat her head to console her.
“It’s fine, We’ll make another one”
“Thanks…I’m afraid that the ingredient won’t be enough”
“Then, We’ll just go buy some more”
“Er…”
Boom pat Lifa’s head again. This time she is calmer than before and determined to make it again.
“I won’t mess up this time”
The little fist smashed onto her chest and she went back to the kitchen.
“Really determined,” Beam muttered.
“It’s a good thing tho. Just let she had her fun”
Boom followed to the kitchen. Beam then continued to play with Nelly.
Lifa focuses her attention on making the sauce. This time she uses a lot less fish sauce. And while she’s making it, She watches the video on the internet to make sure she will make it correctly.
“Done”
She scooped the sauce into a small bowl and handed it to Beam.
“Sheesh, You’re good”
Boom, Who just finished making the noodles, is impressed by it. Making a smile appear on Lifa’s face.
“I’ll pour it onto the noodles then”
“Wait…I want you to taste it first”
She wanted Boom to taste it because Lifa didn’t want to mess up again.
“Oh Ok”
Boom easily agrees to Lifa’s request. Before dunking the chopsticks in the sauce and tasting it.
“Um…”
“How’s the taste?”
Her pink eyes are looking at him.
*Tud* Boom place down the bowl.
“Wow…This is some good shit”
“Yay!”
Boom’s compliment made Lifa so happy that she came and hugged Boom.
Because this time, She really focused on making the sauce. Boom didn’t complain and hugged Lifa and patted her head.
“Say, After our shift ends, Why don’t we go hang around with each other?” Boom asked.
“Huh? Do we split up into shifts?”
“You and I will do the morning shift. And after that, someone else will take over”
“Is that so…”
They both split up. Lifa thinks for a second before agreeing to it.
“You look exciting,” Boom joked.
“Yeah, I really want to hang around with you for so long”
“Didn’t we always do that?”
“I’m just saying it”
Lmao. They both laugh. Before Lifa went to scoop up the sauce and put it on the pad thai noodles that Boom had prepared.
“I got a surprise for you after the final exam, Be ready”
Boom’s originaless words made Lifa suspicious. But before she could ask anything, Boom walked away.
“...I’m looking forward to it” Lifa muttered.
